Rifles are better in every aspect other than weight... better range, rate of fire, damage per shot, mag size, accuracy and you can boost the damage way more by multiple perks in the skill tree
I have a Legendary Advanced Starshard with Anti-Personnel, Hitman & Shattering perks ;) Unfortunately, it's bugged so when I use it, it sounds like I am operating heavy machinery ;) hehe
This is my favorite weapon and the best all-round weapon in the game from my testing. It kills every enemy fast especially on crits, unlike for example the magshear which bad against terrormorphs. It is good at different ranges and easy to aim with. Furthermore it has higher dps than the overrated Va'Ruun Inflictor, because of it's burst fire mod. Everything you recommend in terms of skills and mods is perfect. The only thing I would like to add is that the mods Hitman, Instigating and Shattering would be perfect rolls. Especially Instigating is nuts on this weapon. The Isolation skill I would recommend too. I really like this gun, it feels overpowered.
Another great video! Can you review the Inflictor next, please? I’ve been using the Inflictor for a while, I love it! I just picked up the unique ‘Reflection’ Inflictor, which is amazing! I’ve also started using a legendary Starshard ‘Terror Inflictor’ too.
The Va'Ruun Inflictor has only 6 mod slots. A little less damage but higher range and accuracy. Its stats are 164 phys, 612 Engy, 25 Fire rate, 84 range, 85.5% accuracy, mass 6.95. Value 87750, 6/6 mods. Ill have to get a pistol and see how it compares for my characters skills.
HEADS UP if you give this weapon to a companion you will likely suffer from an audio bug (shooting FX looping) easily fixable by quitting the game but super annoying.
I've only had this audio bug when I give companions a Burst Fire Starshard. The moment I change the Starshard back to Semi-Auto the audio bug goes away.
Thanks Turtle I picked up my first “advanced” one at a vendor yesterday - didn’t realise about the burst fire mod so will need to change it. Hopefully Bethesda fix to show superior grade like the space suits as not knowing if you are missing out on better gear when casually looking at vendors is a pain. Also somethings like Rattler just don’t seem to drop at anything higher than refined unless I’m really unlucky!
I got a Va'ruun Starshards and Inflictors before I got an advanced Old Earth Assault Rifle Q_Q Also 2:00 WHAT?! There are SUPERIOR quality weapons but the game does not display it because of a bug?!
unfortunately, Particle Beams 4 and Pistol Certification 4 both multiply your critical hit chance by 1.05 and 1.25 respectively instead of adding a flat amount like Marksmanship and Sharpshooting do, so they aren't nearly as good as they sound.
Interesting guide. I had a go at trying it out, but I wouldn't go replacing Reflection with it. I'm surprised more people haven't talked about the gun more. It's purchasable from a vendor which makes it quite easy to obtain, and comes with a very potent combination of instigating and the huge damage of a Va'Ruun Inflictor. So far I haven't found a better primary weapon than it. In comparison to the Starshard, Reflection has a higher rate of fire, 20 shots per mag instead of 10 (if using the double tap mod), a lot more damage on the first shot and slightly less thereafter (usually a 1 shot kill anyway), much better scopes for long range shots. The coachman with hornets nest might be a bit more powerful and does cleave damage, but has a slow sustained rate of fire. It also tends to kill yourself making it much less practical.
I got a legendary starshard early in the game, though I don't remember where or how. It was my best weapon, but after modding it after your suggestions, it is absolutely amazing.
how its compare to big bang with anihilator round? In my build this shotgun melt lvl 78 terrormorph londinian boss fight easily in very heard, it has 800+ particle dmg and about 210+ phys, and crit every time lol. Its almost one shot every grunt enemies, the stupid thing is, it got crazy acurate long range with reflex scope attached
Big bang is OP got one around 20 I think, and I've been breaking the hardest quests with that thing. It's insane how how powerful it is without a lot of points in combat, so with a bunch of points in combat it's gotta be up there with the best
this thing and novalight pistol carried my first run, terramorph couldn't do a thing Shame accuracy perk doesn't work so well because it really struggles in this game where enemies can accurately shoot you from a kilometer away
hey old boy, nice to see you away from 76 that makes a nice change. I have a rare advanced with extended mag with the same mods and holds 32 rounds and is by far my favourite pistol, it just melts everything. The Va Ruun Rifle is amazing as well, it has a scope you can see the recital with in red rather than in black. Due North of Vollii as far as you can go is Bardeen system, Bardeen III lvl70 abundant Fauna is really good fun planet, pack agro critters (zone in on very hard change to very easy save ammo for same XP). Cheers T
I've got sooo many weapons laying on my ship deck I just buy every type of ammo in stock in order to get rid of the stockpile! LOVE THIS WEAPON BUT HAVEN'T' FOUND ONE AS POWERFUL AS YOURS!
The ship technician on the Neon landing pad is not spawning for me. It's just a bunch of technicians. I have waited, saved and reloaded, but nothing will make him reappear.
found a legendary starshard on a pirate ship, sadly it's calibrated (PHYS 35.5 ENGY 137.6 after mods) not advanced but still 1-shots most things. Has Anit-personnel, Lacerate & Elemental - it's a beast!
@@angryturtlegaming What?! Where?? Oh... Now I see. I probably wasn't paying close attention when I watched this video before, once I never use those annoying floating numbers in any of my games.
@@prutgardin666 I *_WAS NOT_* joking! I really don't saw those blasted numbers because 1) they appear and disappear too quickly and 2) I was not paying close attention to this video.
My character is level 73 and I’ve got GOD rolled legendary versions of every firearm in the game EXCEPT for the Starshard. Some weapons I have rolled multiple GOD rolled versions of but not one single Legendary Starshard.
Hey Turtle! Great videos man! Love your stuff! I'm needing more ship videos though. I have so many questions ha. Can you make a ship that can wipe out the Crimson Fleet in Stryx before you join them? I've tried! Its rough! So many ships. Are there any ships REALLY worth pirating? The Wight III is the best I've found but it still only makes you like $8 or $10k. Where is the ship destoying farm? We have animals, crafting, drug selling. I don't care if it's less lucrative, sometimes I just want to spend an hour in my ship i built, doing dog fights and stuff. Is there a cut and dry way to put ladders in your ship? Are there parameters to when they are put in or specific spots they are always put. Deep dive into ladders! Is a millennium falcon ship viable? 2 front facing and 1 set of turrets in the back. What about a complete guide on what EXACTLY each crew member does to help your ship. I've seen some videos on certain people like Sam Coe or the shield guy in Akila. But a deep dive into crew member skills would be sweet!! They can be further spread into companion skills deep dive. Please make some content on these points. Or all of them! I love your ship videos. Not so much on the quick XP stuff. Kibbles covers that better than anyone and anything other than him is just not as efficient. I did like the Neon selling showcase though! Altogether, I love your content man! Keep it up. Don't make clickbait videos. Just give us some deep dives like you did with the weapons and how to build ships! Love your stuff man!
Also, what crew members have objection to you being a pirate. That main chick from Constellation is always cursing me out. I had to get her off my ship.
Love your videos man, you should reach out to swole Benji for collaborations. That would be amazing if you two underappreciated starborns commentator together
205 w 797?! Those values are linked with your character's level & skills. It will never appear in the shop, like that, if you're level 25. I'm level 73, with no skill invested in the red section, and it appeared with 53 & 155 damage values. Also, if it's not written "superior", then it's not superior. I have superior weapons. Anyway, it's just a name. It doesn't matter really. What does matter are the mods & the stats, and the stats are raising with your character's level. The higher level, the higher stats. As for how "rare" the light fuse ammo is ... I have over 2k light fuse ammo, never knowing what gun is using it, frankly, but the 40MM XPL ... only 36. That's RARE, not the light fuse! 🙂
Upload a picture of your superior weapon. They don’t exist outside of game files. Highest you’ll find in game is advanced for weapons, superior for armor.
@@BotThotthere are superior weapons, they are just labeled Advanced, probably because of a bug. But there are different base damage weapons labeled "advanced", I saw two advanced Eon pistols with no mods with different damage in a different channel
@@angryturtlegamingi have most at 3 4 all the way down but my pistol is only at 1 since i almost never used. But kind of strange the base dmg to change before equip.
