How does putting an outpost there help manage your fleet? Is it a hidden mechanic?

It is not only invisible. It is fully glitched. I used it, rebuilt it, and went to the den(wolf), switched home ship to it, attempted to board the ship from the station… and it was very very very broken. Character was sideways inside the ship, could roam into space clipping thru the ship walls… I was concerned it would break my save further so I sold the ship.

I was able to get it to work by making it my home ship immediately after leaving build mode. Make sure to save before though.

you can prevent this bug by getting rid of all crew before going into the shipbuilder.

Honestly, he probably uses the mod that adds a console command that you can give any ship technician ALL the ship parts. That is what I do.i also have a mod that unlocks all the m class ship parts (capital ship)

From 0:00 it looks like 4x PBO-300, 3x Obliterator 250MeV, and 4(? only 1 visible at that angle) PBO-175.

​@@mirrormonstere113 no I don't use any mod or console command. Everything is unlocked at lvl 60 and I'm level 102 currently (legit lvl 102 without mod or console command)

The trick : put only 1 energy on the Vanguard Ares weapons, and full energy on the other two, because there is no difference in the fire rate for the vanguard weapon with 1 or full energy, only the reload is longer ! But it can reload between two fights ^^ ! As a result I can use the three weapons at full DPS almost for each fight, keep my shield at full energy and still have energy left for the engines. I can use 46 Energy with the C reactor (40), the energy skill at max level (+5) and one companion with the energy skill (+1) !

Alpha beams are class C so you need a class C reactor also once attached you need to assign them to a weapon slot

Yep, this was a revelation for me as well. Check out this channel’s ship build, and if you like the Mantis ship (Razorleaf) there is a great video about how to make that ship into a totally OP fighter that just melts other ships, even at low levels. 👍🏻

@@Dragonic26 Surely the bars just mean reload/recharge rate, not weapon 'power'?

​@@ClevaTreva sometime the bars for weapons will be about the fire rate, sometime about the reload rate ! But never about the fire power/damage.

​@@ClevaTrevafor "auto" weapons energy means recharge speed, so they will fire at full power until they run out of ammo/battery. So one can make a weapons set that have full burst damage using only 12+1+1 energy if you choose the right set of weapons.

You can deplete power to your auto weapons and they won't fire, and then you'll be able to use an EM weapon or targeting mode to disable the systems yourself.

That's why I don't use auto weapons. Full particles will obliterate everything (as you can see in this video)

@@Dragonic26 what weapons do you think i should be using? I don’t understand the ship building very much so I’m really just wanting to slap a couple of good weapons on the dragonfly and or shieldbrealer. Both have auto guns. The dragonfly has a slot that I can’t put a 3rd weapon, any idea what’s up with that?

@@ActionScripter ok so I’m missing an EM weapon. Do you know if I can put an EM weapon in the open slot on the dragon fly?

I believe he said TPP - should be thrust per power, right? It gives a reasonable idea of how good these engines will be. To accurately determine it, go into ship building and experiment with high tpp engines. If money is not an issue, fit your vessel with 6x SAL-6830 engines. That’s the biggest tpp available.
