very cool" if any time you want to update, I sugest you to use the "holo trick" (based on use a mirascope) behind the gate so you could provide a better effect... (imagine a coin vertical inside the mirascope, now replace the coin with a circular light , and set it so it turns on when the gate its going to open... it should proyect the glow I guess
@@geminyjc I can´t deny your great work, but to be fair SGC EGO is right. The Earth gate locks the symbols on the top Chevron. everytime a symbol is locked, the top one lock in and than a chevron next in line locks in and the inner circle starts to spin again, until the next symbol is at the top chevron again, then it locks again the next chevron in line. I also think that the ring spins in different dirrections everytime a chevron is locked but I am not sure about that
@@honzasenbauer612 Môžeš po našom ak chceš :) Co sa rotácie týka tak sa kruh točí raz na jednu a raz na druhu stranu. Vo videu to možno nevidno,neviem ale je to tak :) Čo sa týka zámkov je mi to v podstate jedno. Program by sa dal zmenit raz dva ale tento projekt už je pre mňa pass. Možno raz budem robiť ďalšiu ale ťažko povedať ci sa odhodlam. Sú už dostupne aj modely s pohyblivými zámkami. Vždy sa da všetko spraviť lepšie samozrejme. V čase keď s to robil ja tak som bol jeden z prvých co mali bránu ktorá akceptuje všetky symboly a zadáva ich správne. Klávesnicu som si dizajnoval sam a trvalo to mesiace. Rovnako ako napísať cely firmware.

I am starting on getting my keyboard working and I had a few questions. Do you happen to have any pictures of the keyboard PCB wired and with the electrical components installed? If I am deciphering the arduino code correctly I believe you are plugging the keyboard into the analog inputs on the arduino, is that correct? Also what is the top PCB in your arduino stack for, is it for the wormhole? I am just wanting to get the gate rotation, lights, sounds and keyboard to work will I need that board? As always thank you for your help.
I am afraid not. I rarely make any notes or photos of my progress. Just enough for making video. All I have is in the archive. Yes the keyboard input is going to the analog pin because I am using only one wire for all keys on the keyboard. Every key switch has resistor of different value and the signal line is connected to ground with 10k resistor. You can choose whatever resistor you want for each key. In my keyboard there are resistors from 10 ohms to 100k I think. It is a simple voltage divider. So every key is returning a different analog value to the arduino pin. You just have to measure it and set your conditions in the code. As for the pcb board on top of the stack you can make yours as you see fit. I am using my to power the keyboard with stabilized power( very important) and for the IR sensor circuit witch is used to calibrate the gate on startup. The earth symbol is always delivered by stepper motor to 7th lock on the gate.
It might even get better if you painted the event horizon effect on a semi-transparent paper, cut it the right size, attached it to the rotating lights, and moved the rotating lights closer to the gate, to almost a touching point. Maybe a small water sprayer can be attached in the middle of the fan, to mimic the "woosh"?
I really don`t know...It`s not for sale at any price I tihnk. Some projects are special for me. They are unique and they are part of my life :) Money can`t motivate me to build another one. At least not reasonable money...
Sorry to nit-pick... but... all chevrons are locked top dead center... not underneath the light that lights up in response to the lock... hence why there is the mechanism at the top of the gate that moves in and out in relation to the locking of the chevrons, and not on any of the other lights. Other than that, it's really cool. Nice work.
Actually this gate works that way, but you cannot see it on the video...I have two more videos on my channel where you can watch how it works. I will build another one with moving 7 lock...but these days I don`t have time for this project

Excellent work! If I may be so bold, in the show the top chevron locks the symbols for the other chevrons, rather than the chevrons locking their own symbols. But still, excellent work, indeed!

Dam camera effect it would be nice to see it without the propeller effect interaction with camera would like to see it in person but sadly no. But good job all around.
In the TV Series - Out bound dialing the chevrons lock in the top position, the top position light flashes (arm opens) and then the position around the ring lights up and remains illuminated. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z72GiUz2VI8.html The movie is the only time I believe you see the chevrons lock going around the ring like this. Still a very nicely done project.
The only way that I think this could be improved is instead of spinning LED's, you used one of those chinese fan hologram things to show an animation of the event horizon forming
What's the scale of this gate? I just bought a da Vinci Mini and am wanting to make a 1:60 scale stargate as a gaming miniature, and I'm wondering how much detail I can get out of it.
In which language is it written? Im just writting a research paper (to uni) on embedded systems and hardware with C and would like to mention your video and project in it :D

@@geminyjc Look again. It isn't actually doing it that way. You are encoding the symbol under the chevron that it is stopping at, which is NOT the top one. I understand you THINK you did it right, but you actually didn't.
@@protoborg only last symbol is encoded at top position. This gate is build by the movie not by the series sg1. At this point I don't care anymore. It can be reprogramed at any time. This way it's more chalenging for my students to write whole dialing program.
@@geminyjc Well, in the movie (since they use the same prop for the movie and the show), the top chevron DID encode for the others. You need to watch the movie again. SG: Atlantis functions the way you have this gate working.

Thank you ! :) Many people want to buy this model. But I need it for my students. They are learning to program arduino on it. Some of them at least :) And the price would be around 500-700 euros if I ever make another one. It took me three months to put together this one :)

Hej poznám. A presne tak ta brána aj funguje len to na tomto videu nie je vidieť, lebo som sa sústredil na to aby bolo vidno že zadáva symboly v takom poradí ako boli zadané z klávesnice. Ale mam ešte ďalšie dve videa a tam je to vidieť tak ak chceš pozri si.
mněl bych napad slo by tam do ty brany dat Iris aby to bylo jako v tom serialu ta mistnost aby to tu branu vystihovalo a jaky jsou symboli na zadani Atlantidy by me zajimalo a ten iris by sel tam dat ale a jaky jsou symboly na Tollan a na Chu'lak

@@pierogomez5259 Ja tiež. Na rotačnej sekcii sú dva typy led pásov. Modrý a biely. Dokopy to dáva modré svetlo po okraji brány a v strede biele. Na videu to nie je vidieť lebo som to natáčal mobilom a na živo to vypadá inak. A píš po Anglicky prosím.
