@@Brakiros true the genii where technological primitive by sgc technology terms but had a good grasp of weapons . really they only a few decades behind in technology terms wouldn't be a stretch to see them build their first ships 60 years later even if was a cruder version of crashed puddle jumper
He didn't react to it at all, had concern on his face the entire time because he failed to lead the wraith to what they were looking for. He wasn't worried about randomly blowing up from a chunk of plastic, he was worried the wraith would think he's stalling or trying to trick them and get fed on or executed because of it, that's what the fear in his eyes is about...
Just noticed that Teyla pressed seven symbols and then the center button of the DHD. It's apparently not specified anywhere, so I may have misunderstood things the whole time, but I was always under the impression that a DHD only requires six symbols to be pressed, with the point of origin being added automatically upon pressing the center button (since the DHD would know the point of origin, but a traveler might not).
I seem to recall in a very early SG1 episode that they determine an address will be six symbols and the 7th symbol, which must always be input, will be unique to that DHD and therefore easy to find.
My best guess is that the center button adds the point of origin it its not present. Pegasus gates cant dial extra-galactic networks without the atlantis control crystal anyways.
I’ve always wondered: how does a Gate know when to turn off? What if the Gat shut off before the last ppl went thru? Or it stayed on long enough for some Wraith to follow the team back?
UGNAvalon Well when they go to Atlantis they have the shield so they can put that up when everyone comes through. As for the other places well I assume they can just turn it off on the other side.
The Gate can detect matter travelling and stays open until the matter has been transferred. That is why constant energy streams can keep it open. It can be "forced" shut under certain circumstances (such as the Earth computer, which has less safeties than a DHD.
@@PavelKahun It helps that they have the city of the CREATORS of the Stargate to poke around and study the files of. The Goa'uld are merely using the tech with no truly intimate knowledge of how it works.
@Dr. M. H. - A person can press the buttons on the controller as fast as you want, but the Stargate can only dial at a set speed. Teyla probably had to wait several seconds for the gate to catch up to her button pressing.
@@rhas356 the Pegasus gate is also the most advanced stargate. They are essentially the deluxe models. 3rd generation gates would definitely be functioning better then any of the previous generation.
Well that was a screw up. Leader of the Wrath said launch the Darts? Only humans from Atlantis called them that. Bad screw up in writing or directing this episode
Um, you mean the Wraith should have called them Darts? That's what the Wraith call them. It's what everyone calls them. The Wraith have been calling them Darts longer then the Tau'ri have been a civilization.
@@Xershade no its a screw up. The first time the expedition saw them is the first time they were referred to as looking like a Dart 🎯. Why would people from a different galaxy call wraith ships Darts 🎯 🤣 that makes no sense I’ve watched every episode probably over 100 times I promise you im right 😂.
and in the case of Stargate, well, they're (equipped by the) US military, and they use mostly semi-auto over full auto in real life from what I can tell.
I see Two possibilities: 1) like Ronan’s pistol they *can* be used in a more lethal/deadly way just usually aren’t. 2) Since Wraith ships are bio-mechanical you could theoretically cause the door lock to disengage if hit enough times.

It was programmed to discharge only from the point AFTER he used it to beam himself and Dr. Beckett into the buffer so that when the darts were launched and the wraith utilized the beaming technology to abduct humans, it would rematerialize the two of them instead.
