CLIP DESCRIPTION:
While Lt. Col. Carter (Amanda Tapping) tries to figure out how to use Ba'al's (Cliff Simon) time machine, the crew has to fight off Quetesh's (Claudia Black) henchmen.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The Stargate saga continues as an elite military unit races back to Earth following the mysterious disappearance of two key team members, only to find themselves in an alternate reality where the Stargate has never been invented. Somewhere in deep space, the SG-1 team is in serious trouble. Two team members have vanished without a trace, and now the SG-1 unit's only hope for survival is to get back to Earth as quickly as possible. Upon touching down the team is relieved to be home, but deeply disturbed to learn that the reality they just returned to isn't the same one they departed from. In this reality, the Stargate has never been discovered and neither the government nor the military has never even heard of the SG-1 unit. But who altered the Earth's timeline, and why? Upon discovering that a malevolent alien known as Ba'al has been meddling with the planet's timeline in an attempt to conquer Earth, the team must race against time to defeat the most powerful adversary that they have ever faced.

I still love the fact that Teal'c is the only Jaffa to USE HARD COVER. I als really like that Daniel was using his own body to cover Sam's open back. and that Teal'c stood up and in the open to get shot instead of Cam.

Technically, they are like the third prime versions... The first prime versions died in 2010 and the second when they first traveled back in time to Egypt to retrieve the zpm.

Sheer numbers. They can't kill the targets quickly enough to prevent them from getting _any_ shots off, and even enough random shots would eventually hit someone.

@@BladeOfLight16 there is also the fact that the ones that make the kills were the one in the back of the group. As they used the Jaffa in front of them as protection, they were able to keep their head cool, analyse the situation and aim correctly.

Bad Jaffa fighting technique and staff weapons that don't allow for good firing while laying down.

Several actually simple reasons we see in that scene. First, the rings delay the tart of combat by 1-2seconds. The jaffa have the time to get a short look at the situation before combat engages so they arent really entirely unprepared and can pre aim Second: The Jaffa in the front literally body shield the second row for a second or two so the second row can actually get a few shoots of before they die. One of them will hit at some point Third: Parts of the dead jaffa get transported up as well so from the 3 wave onwards the jaffa know they will transport into direct combat and can take better positioning on the ringplattform - no more suprise Fourth: SG1 and Teal'Cs Jaffa lack the firepower to keep an effective crossfire going for long. They have one AK to act as their main suppressing weapon and slow staff weapons and a pistol to actually kill Jaffa. They can create enough fire to keep all the Jaffa from fireing back at least a single shot Fifth: Two members of SG1 need to be exposed becuase carter has to put in the coordinats and is literally the most important person they need to defend but also compleatly exposed. Daniel literally has to cover her as a meat shield to buy as many more seconds as possible. Verdict: I actually really liked the entire scene because it shows the advantage the defenders have but also that with enough time and simnply menpower that defense can and will get overwhelmed in minutes do to how Stargate ring technology works and how there is basically no proper cover for the defenders.

Things where a lot simpler back then. You could make it and survive if you were quick about your wits and blended in. If you had skills then I don't think it would matter.

Before the welfare state, people within local neighbourhoods were more far more supportive than they are now. E.g when a man lost his job or was injured the street would often chip support the family until he was back on his feet

Most states did not even start keeping birth and death records until 1900. It would of been hard to even get work. Since he arrived in 1929 about when the Great Depression started, it would not of been hard to kept clothed and fed due to people taking care of each other as there was no welfare system back then

I still don't know why an advanced race like the Jaffa or the Goa'uld couldn't make body armor capable of stopping 9mm, 5.7x28mm, or even 7.6x39 rounds. Even WE could stop those rounds with body armor, and eventually, the Tauri came up with body armor that could stop Jaffa staff weapon plasma, but the Goa'uld have metals and alloys which can stand up to much more punishment. They even made the anubis Kull Warriors with armor that humans could wear, and it wasn't some "unobtainium" armor that they could only come up with in small amounts. But no, the "Weapons of man will always prevail."

The Cull warriors it's an energy shield, not armor at all. It's basically an integrated suit/uniform and shield combo.

For the Goa'uld, the lifes of their Jaffa are not of any worth. They don't care if they survive the battle or not. Also, they're not as bright, as they can be. They are operating advanced space craft and energy weapons, but they don't necessarily understand them. Imagine them as 10th century medieval kings, that rely on a select few that actually understand their technology on a more advanced level.

Depends, do we count the duplicate dying? do we count when faux Sam stabbed him? He died on the Nox world, he died in the Light(briefly).. then I think the time got resetted a few times, which makes at least 3 more deaths, he died before ascending after the naquadria accident.Think Ra killed him once. This would total up to 7 if we don't count the first two.

So when time is altered to create a separate timeline it is an entirely new reality created, that would mean every single reality where you exists the timeline was altered, by an unknown source, hints of an interfering civilization that has created thousands of alternate realities, so technically if the timeline was altered we wouldn’t disappear

In the novel Stargate SG1: Moebius Squared, an SG team finds this place on a routine mission at some point after the events of the movie. SG1 is checking it out when a rogue group of Tok'ra invade the SGC and hijack the Time Jumper with Caroline Lam as the pilot to go back to Ancient Egypt. Long story. Anyway, SG1 use Ba'al's time machine to go back in time to recover the ship and stop the Tok'ra. Involves a team up with the alternate SG-1 from the end of season 8 that stayed in Ancient Egypt.

they have and advantage but their position isn't so secure that they won't get overwhelmed eventually, if they where in an elvated position with cover and had unlimited ammo yeah the 3 of them could hold out for quit a long time.

@@blazerocker1734 i dont think, ring transporters can be turned off. in one instance, the rings smashed through rock to reach their destination. the rings are very similiar to stargates, and are very resilient plot devices. only weapons with the power to break plot armor can destroy them.

i dunno if i like this... the staff impacts in the series would put holes or burn through them... in this it just makes smoke.. and thats it no burn mark or anything

I think it's mainly a production thing, the staff bolts are CGI, Daniels worked because the bolt occluded the whole screen before hitting him, So his impact wound was always there. The other Jaffa are out in the open so the cuts are quick. While they could've added more smoke yes, the greenscreen background would've likely caused issues with that and CGI smoke with what budget they had left would've looked like crap.

Don't think it would have mattered, in 1969 they came out of a gate that was not there. Sure the gate actually existed in that time but it was in entirely different location.

Except here the bad guy also used time travel. First might I add, in a way that was properly explained and fleshed out throughout the series which was already used to save Earth at least once before this time.

The SG1 Apocalypse Trilogy was like Endgame with the time travel: involved SG1 getting transported into a post-apocalyptic future and later on Carter and O'Neill used the Time Jumper to fix the past. But like in Endgame changing the past did not affect their future and instead created a split-off timeline that followed that path.
