Stargate SG-1 Season 3 Episode 12 "Jolinar's Memories" and Episode 13 "The Devil You Know' REACTION!

It's actually pretty clever if you think about it: They spent half a season propping Sokar up, all for this moment - where it turns out they weren't actually hyping up HIM directly, but his forces. The forces that now are under the control of Apophis, who, unlike Sokar, has quite the bone to pick with Earth. All in all, beautifully done bait and switch. Also gotta applaud providence that led FW34 to do a double bubble for a two-parter.

When Stargate Command handed Apophis' corpse over to Sokar, Martouf pointed out that Sokar would be able to revive him in a sarcophagus as many times as he wished, to torture him incessantly. (Which, by the looks of the metal plates grafted to Apophis' face, he did.)

"What is the gym routine in Hell?" really got me lol. Keep up the SG reactions, love this show and your thoughts on it!

This remains one of the all-time best two-parters. I always love seeing Apophis again and the reveal of him at the end of Part 1 was really well done. They actually got a different guest actor to do Nao'nak's voice for most of the episode, until you hear Peter Williams' native Jamaican accent towards the end. Also, to answer your question about the guys in Netu being absolute beefcakes, the main guy who serves Apophis (Kint'ak) actually used to be Arnold Schwarzenegger's body/stunt double sometime in the past.

Sokar looked like a Sith Lord.

Ah Apophis, i remember watching this episode and thinking "can't he die already!!!"

Sokar's design is SOOOO cool. Edit- and yes, the return of the nose trimmer memory control device.

As I'm watching these reactions. I'm just not realizing that Apophis might've been the most human goauld that we saw. He's one of the few who's plans for success are revealed (and it's not just ''I'm going to gain this power, because I'm evil'' instead it's ''I'm going to gain more power, because I want to get out of this hellhole''), he's one of the few who we see suffer (mostly at the hands of other goaulds) and he's one of the few who actually cares for something apart from himself (as far as I know, he's the only one who literally has a wife) and also someone who's not a coward and stands up for his own goals (that one you will see in the future... maybe). He's still not my favourite (that one would be someone who I'm not going to spoil for you), but from this realization he certainly gained a few levels of admiration from me.

Aww, it always makes me happy when someone praises Amanda's acting. She did a great job indeed.

You've got to love the truck-sized balls on Apophis, taking on on Symbiote Satan with a space flick knife and poorly sourced intel.

Hahaa I love when the vid pops up and it's one of my fav episodes. So glad you emphasised Sam's role in these episodes - the emotion and deeper connection with Martouf is one of my fav things here. You're on the ball - loved how you caught onto Apophis just before the reveal. Was so chill watching it my first time, I got the surprise :P PS. I really wish they kept Sokar for a much longer time instead of Apophis. I found him much more interesting and menacing.

The first few seasons of this show were budgeted around $25M per season (for 22 episodes, so just over $1M/episode). As the seasons progressed and the viewership grew, the budgets increased to about $2M per episode.

Well Lets add that to the list. Blew up hell.

LOL This was the set-up for a flashback episode -- I found it refreshing that the flashbacks were not clips of older episodes.

I am going to one of in biggest mistakes is all the hype for Sokar and it leads to nothing but Apophis coming back with a larger army while I like Apophis they should have also focused more on other Goa’uld like Heru’ur and Sokar

Don't forget that what Sokar always wanted was to ressucitate Apophis to lake him suffer. So SGC kept him the longest possible until he died but was forced to give him back to Sokar otherwise Earth would have been destroyed by radiation... I was disappointed that Sokar didn't last longer after all this hype for half a season... Wasted opportunity. And yes Amanda is an amazing actress.

Great two parter, although it's a bit of a shame Sokar had such a small role in the story.

Even if Aphophis knew the address of the Aasgard home world he still wouldn't be able to defeat them, they are vastly superior to the Go'auld in every way but physical form, and even that is debatable since the Aasgard get their consciousness downloaded into clones when they die. One of their ships can pretty much instantaneously take out an entire fleet of his ships or raze an entire army.

allways do the two and three parters aas one video, or published two videos at once.. much more enjoyable. also, love these episodes, but they are of the kind that for me was really good first few times, then becomes less enjoyable when i've watched them enough... other episodes are the other way around.. but definitely a significant worldbuilding and larger story-progressing ep.

I'm sure i'm in the minority here but all the episodes about Jolinar/Martouffe/Sam kinda bored me. I never bought any chemistry between Sam and Martouffe (sp?) so I'd guess that's why they're not anywhere near my favorite episodes. This Sokar joint was ok and necessary to continue the Goa'uld/Human conflict and it probably should be higher on my list but I guess knowing there's so much better stuff to come colors my criticism.
