Balance is how the tribe gets along it's not racist it's a common goal and they're not anti rage they want to master it

damn, this videos have been awesome, they really opened my view of the tribes, the w20 book doesn't really get too deep on the subject and it is so dificult to get the tribe books (specially in latin america) it really broke my heart thou when i read that there are no werewolves in this part of the world :( i mean, i still love the hell out of the game and it has so many cool things, butt it really shows how "western centric" it is some times LIKE seriusly latin american doesn't get any werewolfs? and i have to buy like another really expensive book to check out the were-felines? it's just feels dumb :c

You are absolutely right. There is no good reason for there to not be tribal representation of Garou in Latin America. White Wolf does frame all Garou presence in South America as colonizers. The tribe, if I’m remembering correctly, with the strongest presence is Freebooter Black Furies according to canon. Your most comprehensive source is probably going to be Rage Across the Amazon unless you want to stick with W20, then it’s the Wyrm section of Rage Across the World. Central American Garou lore is much more scattered but at least the books seem open to there being a stronger native Garou presence there. Real talk though, if you are trying to run a table and you want to have Latin American werewolves just let your players know that you are sticking with the rule of “lore is rumor” and run with it. In our experience, players come up with real awesome stuff. If you’re the player, just present the character of ANY tribe you want to play and work with your storyteller. Tribes are philosophies, remember, and no philosophical idea belongs to a single ethnicity. As far as Bastet canonically in the area, books are going to direct you to the Balam (were-jaguars). Before stressing yourself out trying to piecemeal the books on them I’d recommend you check out The Maple Table’s video on them Balam - Shaman Kitties. It’s the most comprehensive summary of their canon that I know of on RU-vid. Thanks for your kind words. Hopefully we continue to not disappoint!

Me too. Two/three tribes for all of the Americas is whack. The Ananasa, Balam, and Mokole are all important in South America and I feel like the Nuwisha should be more important in Mexico and the Mexica peoples, due to the presence of Huehuecoyotl and other incarnations. I've thought about making the Camps for Older Sibling into fleshed-out groups more akin to tribes.

Thank you for making that post on Podbean. There's no guarantee that I would have known to look on YT. Keep up the good work. This podcast is phenomenal

@@thewerewolfden8303 I'm happy to see you remember me. I've been rather silent due to academic study lol. Working on graduate comprehensive exams now. Hopefully, they will let me graduate this semester :). I look forward to checking out your newer episodes when I get more down-time

Hi I have studied chinese martian arts for almost 16 years now and Im studying asían philosophy as part of my Degree thesis and ive come to find that most "asian" philosophical schools of thought come back not to balance but to introspection and i've played Stargazers in that light as you say deprograming others and questioning garou society and while yes some of the gifts may be considered racist i think this gives both players and storytellers if they are well versed in asían culture a way to exploit them as tropes for the characters and world building like yeah most philosophical schools wont get along but there is something that prevails in most and that is introspection. I think the thing to come back that you guys mentioned for this tribe is exactly introspection as means to Enlightenment.
