Rick's uncle is very triggering for me because my father's step-dad was like him. He beat him and abuse him for his childhood and I grew up with the stories. I don't even refer to him as "grandpa" or even "step-grandpa" anymore. I just call him by his actual name because to me he's not family. Matt is not Rick's uncle. He's just Matt. That guy doesn't deserve family.

Yall guys know that Pat can be a badass and also not be the next Starman, right? As amazing as Pat is, he hesitated a lot. He played it safe a lot of times.

Matt had to learn the hard way

After watching that episode, I had wondered what would've happened if Pat had told Matt straight out that Rick's dad, Rex Tyler, was a superhero called Hourman who worked with the Justice Society of America and had the ability to manifest super-strength one hour a day and Rick's parents were killed by Solomon Grundy who was forced by Injustice Society of America to commit several murders and Rick used his dad's hourglass to become the new Hourman and Eclipso made Rick see his uncle as Grundy thinking that he killed a girl (which was really Eclipso) and attacked him by mistake, and there's no doubt that Matt would've still pressed charges on Rick as well as on Pat since he knew about it all along.

We will never know what Pat did to Rick's uncle. But rest assured, that was by far a very dark interrogation method in a superhero show.

I’m a little conflicted at the moment, i’m thrilled that Pat has a dark side and gave Matt what he deserved if you didn’t get it already from the beating Rick gave him, but at the same time I’m a little disturbed that he does. Well I know that everyone has a dark side, even some one like Superman. And we see his dark side in injustice and when he’s exposed to red kryptonite. But people like Clark and Pat make an effort to acknowledge they’re dark side but keep it under control. And if there are moments where it rises to the surface and rears its ugly head, well Clark and Pat are only human (even though Clark is technically an alien).

I get the his uncle is a abusive jerk but pressing charges on Rick is going a bit too far. I mean he is Rick's legal guardian. I honestly hope next season something happens where he is either losses custody of Rick or he get into trouble legally for is treatment of Rick.

It’s pretty messed up to beat on an injured guy, but for an asshole like Rick’s uncle. GO, PAT!!

To be honest i’m kind of not surprised with pat doing the thing he did cause 1) he was fighting crime as stripsy before being side lined meaning he had to have combat experience not too mention he held his own against sportsmaster while albeit sportsmaster was taking it easy as he is pat’s friend he still managed to held him off for a bit and even took the beating, 2) pat lost the JSA once as they drifted apart leading to their deaths, the same thing is happening to courtney and her friends pat is responsible for these kids and after Courtney was in the shadow lands he can’t risk it happening again 3) this is a chance to redeem himself as he failed hourman by letting rick endure his uncle and even going to jail

I hope we see more of Pat's dark side

Its interesting in a way you know its just just some kid.. its the kid of his dead friend who died a hero as a soldier himself i dont imagine its something you take lightly

When I first saw this I thought pat went to the dark side. And he did and I was like *oh crap ricks uncle is DEAD*

Alright, Pat's a badass. But this brings up alot of questions. If he was in the freakin' army, why was he treated like a punk in the JSA? Why wasnt he the next Starman? He has a particular set of skills that he aquired over a long career. In fact, he wouldve beaten Wildcat's ass. That guy is a boxer, but thats nothing to a war veteran. Where were those skills when fighting Sportsmaster & Tigress? He wouldve beaten their asses too. Same for the villain kids when they wrecked his autoshop. Also, he wouldnt need the mech, except against metas. Anyway, a history in the army would really explain being against killing. He went down that path once. Once again, some other hero introduces a logical reason to the no-kill rule, but Batman never does. Also, the timeline in this show still isnt clear. It looks like the 50s, or late 70s at best. So if Pat served during late WW2, or served in Vietnam, then damn, that is somebody you do not want to mess with. You know what? That answers my question on where his skills went. He isnt rusty, he just doesn't want to remember those dark days. So, he was just pretending like how Clark pretends to be a pushover.

What the hell? What happened next? Damn I wanted to see what Pat was going to do to him. Either way I know that he deserved it, but I still wish I saw it.

There are a lot of bad guys in this world. And most of them aren't even wearing masks and costumes. The worst kind of villains are the ones who dont wear masks, costumes or have super powers.

Rick's uncle was a terrible parent but I kind of was on his side on this one considering he nearly got beaten to death and it could have been anyone who got mistaken for Grundy.
