#StarWars #ForceUnleashed Starkiller Galen Marek meets Yoda on Dagobah in Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2! This is an awesome Star Wars cutscene. Sam Witwer plays Starkiller.
In the novelization of the game, Starkiller was scared shitless by Yoda. He wonders how a creature so feeble looking could actually live on a planet so infested with the Dark Side, let alone sit outside the cave where all that energy was coming from. After nearly dying in the cave he comes to the conclusion Yoda must either be insane or the most powerful being he's ever seen. He actually runs to his ship afraid that Yoda is chasing him.
@@bryguy1502 tbh that's a better reason, like I'm sure after all the shit galen went through a space goblin with ketamine addiction would be the last thing he gave a fuck about
@@beencomfy I think he became aware of his power when he asked Yoda if he'll let Starkiller pass, indicating he treat Yoda with respect because of that.
The fact that Yoda lived on one of the strongest planets with the dark side is really a testament to his power and resistance. Also I love how Yoda didn't care that Galen had multiple imperial insignias on him.
True, tho he chose Dagobah very specifically as a way of using the dark side of the planet to shield his location from the the emperor's senses with force. It's clear that Yoda has the clearest understanding of the dark side than any jedi master in his era, yet the strongest connection to the light. He really was the most powerful jedi that ever lived.
It was also terrifying, because he spent so much time next to people that filled themselves with the dark side. But yoda was just chilling next to it. A being filled with the light side. But untouched by all the darkness around him.
@@user-xx6vy9ri8p I dont remember Rey pulling a star destroyer out of the sky. Rey is definitely powerful for no reason, but Starkiller is the Force on crack.
in the novel the cave exprience was too much for starkiller and after leaving the cave he was terrified because he thought yoda was mad and immediately left degobah
@@spacejesus6581 This released on PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. But I don't think the Wii version looked this good. It was probably the PC port. There were also comics about Starkiller before Disney bought LucasArts.
Paxlux with the first game the Wii version was released much later, these graphics are the same I get on my 360, I’m not 100% sure but I think that there’s a level here on the Wii
@@spacejesus6581 If I remember correctly, Dagobah was a very short level on all ports of the game. I remember collecting a holocron then getting to the cutscene within a minute.
@@theNoah99 thanks , I quite liked this version , it even tells us that starkiller got his blue crystals on degobah p.s. it reminds of the lego version of luke's vision on degobah
Starkiller: “Yeah Kota, I met this little green dude who talked backwards. He seemed pretty wise however.” Kota: “WHAT?! Master Yoda is alive?!” Starkiller: “Who?”
@@nika6184 Disney's made some good things with Star wars some not a lot but some good things like mandolorian and everyone is entitled to their own opinion I'm not saying it's my opinion but don't go ripping on people just because of the way they think about Star wars and the force unleashed and force unleashed 2 are some of the best games I've ever played and sorry for the long reply
I love how Yoda both confirms Starkiller's thoughts AND grants him some wisdom in the same sentence. "That which you seek...inside, you will find." He didn't just mean that Starkiller would find answers by looking inside the cave. He also meant he would find answers by looking inside _himself_
I love the subtle touch here. Yoda is acting like a wise Jedi master that he is, because Starkiller is not the one who he is waiting for. He gives him straight forward (well close enough) directions, but doesn't go overboard with helping him. Then when Luke arrives, he puts on the weird old man act, to test Luke, and is both much more cryptic and much more helpful.
Personally i thought the first one was fucking great and the second one was retarded, the whole im a clone cuck gotta retrieve my memories wasnt that good, plus it seemed like quality went down but I enjoyed some parts
he did know that yoda was fiercely powerful in the novelization of the game after he left the cave he was running because he thought that yoda was chasing him
I remember playing this as a kid and being so thankful that the game didn't make me kick Yoda's ass. Edit: Yes, I'm aware that Yoda is sooper dooper powerful. I've only been Star Wars'ing for like 3 days.
Damian Wayne™ They should retcon starkiller into the sequel trilogy so you can spend the dark side path brutally murdering all of the disney star wars characters like Rey, Holdo, Rose and everyone else that deserved it.
Same man. Thing is, it will always be there. It hasn't been scrubbed out of existence. It's a shame that we won't likely see a follow up though. I loved the 1st one.
Miharo Totoro Of course not. But this story contributed a lot to the lore of Star Wars outside of an already great story. It shows the formation of the Rebel Alliance, the great Jedi purge, expanding on some of the locations like Felucia, and seeing the construction of the Death Star and how it affects the galaxy both directly and indirectly. There’s just so much detail put into the game that it’s absurd how it was just cast aside.
@@rodrigojacome7471 I also would have loved to see Ahsoka and Galen Marek interact in some way. The idea of Anakins apprentices fighting or later working together would have been so awesome
@@jamesgilvary683 There is no such thing at Disney. Not even the Mandalorian was any good, the story is dumb on so many levels that it boggles the mind. Because the show wasn't complete trash like the soy wars "trilogy" and manages to be fun (you know the bare minimum for a show) it gets a pass. That is supposedly the "peak" of Disney Star Wars. Give me a break, at this point i wouldn't trust them to produce a commercial for selling water to sand people. If we ever get good star wars again it will be years from now, probably some fan project made by people who actually care and know what they are doing. I would love to see KOTOR, the Shadow of the empire trilogy, Bane's trilogy, or a X-Wing story on the "big screen" for example but Disney would just ruin it. So i dread it rather than look forward to any of it.
I love that Luke received a vague vision he had no context to, while Galen got a direct scene of what he needed. It speaks to how much a force user’s power can help them understand what they seek.
Dude, I had a 80mm steel pin fall on my hand with such force that my adrenaline spiked and made my whole body go limp, I was dragging myself to the office to tell my supervisor.
Being in exile for a few years really chilled Yoda out. There's clearly a powerfully force-sensitive imperial operative right in front of him but he's just "Eh, dude's here for the cave, not for me. We're cool"
It only makes sense. Yoda is wide enough to know people change. You can start on whatever side of the board you want but you may not always be on that side. Why would Yoda care about a few imperial insignia's? Yoda always struck me as the type to judge someone just as much by what they are as what they could be
Yoda's sigh at the end. Maybe he felt Starkiller was too wrapped up in this, to be the one to bring balance to the force!? And thus waited for the next one to come (Luke)
2 года назад
Starkiller is still one of the big stones that pave the path of rebalance. Everything counts. Without Starkiller, Vader wouldn't have finally betrayed the Emperor just as without Luke, Vader wouldn't.
Its said that after this altercation starkiller feared yoda as he was visibly shaken how a little green creature could sit outside a cave that is filled with the dark side
I haven’t even played this game. Found this scene today I’ve watched it 20 times. So interesting. The way yoda so humbly says “the galaxy brought you here, obviously this is your path” and “something you lost. Part of yourself perhaps” hit me so hard
buddy6584 they scrapped it because he wouldn’t be like how he is here. He was supposed to be an inquisitor about Ezra’s age but not at all like the starkiller we want to see
I really like how an Imperial aligned force user and an old Jedi master actually meet and don’t just not fight but actually seem to peacefully interact without overt acrimony. I dunno, it’s just kinda wholesome.
Starkiller was wiser than I thought. He didn't underestimate Yoda, even though he seemed old and weak. He didn't just arrogantly burst through. He understood that even the littlest of things can make for a powerful foe, so he asked if Yoda was guarding this place. I doubt many force users had it in them to swallow their pride and consider every being to be possibly equal or even greater than them. Good job Starkiller. You've earned my respect
To be fair, Starkiller's ship almost certainly had very advanced auto-pilot, while an X-Wing is a compact fighter and probably doesn't have that kind of fancy tech.
Starkiller : * tries to force choke Yoda * Yoda: strong you are with the Dark Side.. But not that strong .. hmm..work on me , your little tricks with the Dark Side will not 🙂
@@grrayfox2300 palpatine said this himself in the first one but I don't see how it is a bad source when we have things like rise of skywalker, so calm your tits lol.
It's always been my headcanon that after a point they just stopped caring because they realized he'll probably die of old age in a short amount of time.
I doubt anyone could actually defeat Yoda long enough to bring him in, outside of Palpatine himself; and the Emperor was obviously too busy with day-to-day matters running his empire.
@@mariomouse8265 Well that's the very reason why he stayed on Dagobah, the dark force is so strong on that particular planet, that even Sheev could not sense his presence.
@@darthmortem585 but like ask a random person on the street "who's starkiller?" And like 80% won't know him. They will know R2D2, Vader, Obi Wan, Leia, maybe Luke and C3P0
Even though the Force Unleashed series wasn’t sought out as “amazing,” by Starwars Fans alike, you all can still agree it’s 100% better than the Skywalker Saga crap Disney tried to dish out, right?
No. It’s about equal. TFU was just made for 8-9 year olds and the only reason it’s liked more is because it was made while Lucas still owned Star Wars. If Disney made the exact same game now, people would hate it. The Disney stuff isn’t good but it’s not much worse than this.
I love how yoda is just the connecting piece for so many characters. He’s like the omnipresent god of Star Wars he’s so damn wise and powerful with the force he just knows what every character needs to guide them in the direction they need to go in. Even if they don’t listen he’s still an excellent teacher.
What’s even cooler is the fact starkiller was terrified of yoda due to him being so close to a dark side threshold and seemingly unaffected by it therefore representing how powerful a being yoda was.
That cinematic, that music ( 3:21 ),those lines, say anything about the Lucas days, but Disney cant beat those days if we talk about soul and scene build.
Jedi: Fallen Order has greater gravitas and respect for the source material than this game. This scene? Fan service. They wanted the gary stu of all gary stus to bump into Yoda, just for recognition points.
Fucking gone man, watching this makes me upset because literally anything star wars does one thing right. Characters. The sequel trilogy couldn't even pull THAT off....fuck.
Disney: I have the high ground Lucas: you underestimate my writing Disney: don’t try it... Lucas: ahhhhh! Disney: (types at rapid speed) births Rey and rapes the skywalkers Lucas and Mark Hamill: I HATE YOU!
Luke trained by light side Galen: there's a fucking scary thought. You thought Luke creating black holes and annihilating over half a yuuzhan vong fleet was bad...i could just IMAGINE the insane shit he could do if he was actually TRAINED for it.
I remember this part of the game being an entire mission on Wii. You'd cross caverns with a mirror image of Starkiller, you'd see weird visions, fight Starkiller Hallucinations. But on other platforms this part of the game is just a small area with one hidden Holocron and a couple cutscenes. I wonder why the Wii version is different.
The biggest thing I dislike about him is his power level. Even for generic op video game protagonists he's too strong. Fallen Order nailed that balance. The Jedi Knight games did quite well in that regard too.
I don't think his power is that much. He was strong in the force and was trained by Darth Vader all his life. He still is somewhat below Vader. It's just that TFU games had exaggerated some aspects of Force using compared to movies.
I miss the days when Star Wars was in the hands of "old" Lucasfilms and George Lucas. Say what you want about Lucas, but he at least had tremendous respect for his creation and had a much greater understanding of the force and what it was all about. Much better than Disney, Kathleen Kennedy, Abrams, or that hack Rian ever could in their entire lives. At this point I simply will take whatever little bits of good come out. Like Rogue One and Jedi Fallen Order. But that's about it and we might never get anything good for Star Wars ever again. But I'm content and grateful with what we managed to get already. Star Wars never dies.
@@JackSilver1410 Solo was........ok? Not that great. Take out some of the weird things like that dumb social justice droid and maybe I'll give it a pass. As is, I cant stand the movie.
@@stormcutter59 The droid makes sense, it was just ruined by the hordes of screeching gobshites who can't let go of politics and should be summarily executed for it. After all, the treatment of droids in universe is pretty psychotic. Plus I rather liked the Scylla and Charybdis theme they gave to The Maw.
