In this video, we're looking back at the crazy DLC for The Force Unleashed games which served as alternate reality storylines for the original Star Wars trilogy Please check out my second channel: AI Storytime / @aistorytime6940
I appreciate that they wanted to visualize the whole line where he says "If you strike me down, I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." But I wouldn't have chosen the idea they went for. "If you choose to face Vader, you will do it alone. I cannot interfere." It's still goofy fun though and I have so many fond memories of playing it over and over again! 🤣
My favorite version is the ‘Dark Lord’s Armor’ from the Hoth mission, although I think the Dark Apprentice’s ‘Jedi Hunter’ outfit from the Endor DLC is cool too.
@GalakStari the normal sith stalker amor from the dark side ending is also very badass, where u can see his right arm is painfully connected to his Metal arm
Fun fact: during the Tatooine DLC, you can actually crush the rancor under the door like Luke does in the movie, and you even get an achievement for it at least on the Xbox version.
What I loved about George Lucas being in charge of Star Wars was not only could he take criticism, but he also knew how to have a sense of humor and to joke around with his property.
Starkiller, the only person in the Star Wars universe that goes "I don't care that you're dead already, I'll kill your ghost too" and then actually does it.
Well there is a story in legends where Luke dies on hoth because Han couldn’t rescue him in time during the blizzard so Luke freezes to death and Leia gets trained as a Jedi by Yoda instead. So it’s probably following that story
Rumour has it that one of the DLCs for FU 3 was going to be a fight between Starkiller and Lando . Apparently Lando would turn all of Cloud City into a giant weapon, and it would have ended with Starkiller sending the city plummeting to the center of the gas giant
It is funny when you like stab Obi wan in the heart and chuck him into the engine, and then he says "You can still turn back to ths light" right before you torture and mutilate his ghost
If nothing else, it was really great to see Leia as a Jedi. That was a hope I was holding out for in the Disney sequels, but sadly the closest we got was her Force feat in 8 and the flashback of her saber sparring with Luke in 9.
the leia as jedi thing is stupid..she was never truly trained..yes she was meant to be the last hope if luke failed, but not as a jedi, as a force sensitive diplomat that could unite the galaxy against the empire.. its the very reason obi wan stayed to train luke, and leia was sent to alderaan to learn politics (dont count the shit obi wan show, it reeks of kennedy stank).. she had her own path to follow as one of the greatest diplomats in the galaxy, she couldnt devote years to sitting alone being trained by luke, the new republic would never have been formed... i know disney's convinced all the "new" star wars fans that you can be a super duper ultra special jedi just cuz you got bobs and a vajeen, but hell, even the "chosen one" was trained by all of the jedi counsel over many years and luke had both obi wan and yoda... although based on how bad obi wan is in his own show, i guess that doesnt mean much anymore... but i just count that as another "disneyfication" that will hopefully be ignored one day...
I would've loved a whole game set in the Forced Unleashed 1's alternate universe. Starkiller's armor was so badass and we would play the badguy throughout the whole experience. You rarely see that.
There was a special move in the Endor DLC called Sith Punt. You could literally force pull Ewoks towards you and kick them a hundred yards away with the force. 😂 I loved these games.
Well, clearly Kylo Ren & the Knights of Ren & the First Order wouldn't exist. The only other possibility is that either Palpatine kept his granddaughter in that version, somehow, & trained her to take Starkiller's place, or Starkiller has a vision of her while taking out the Emperor and hunts her down.
It's hard to choose. All the DLCs are great. Though the Jedi Temple wins by presentation and because you fight Imperial Special Forces backed up by snipers and Dark Troopers. Then you fight yourself!
Fun fact - several assets used in this DLC repurposed from Battlefront 3/4. Leia’s robes, the Hoth troops, Chewbacca, etc. As of my favorite - it’d have to be Endor. TFU II’s combat was a massive upgrade, and Leia is probably the best balanced boss in the whole franchise. She’s fantastic to go up against on even the hardest difficulty. Doesn’t hurt that her DLC is only a dollar as opposed to the whopping $10 USD for each individual DLC of the first game.
@@autosaver I don't know if it is true or not since it is so random and silly but apperently after BF3 was cancelled some very very early concepts for a BF4 was made. Look it up on youtube there some videos on it
You missed the Jedi temple dlc, also the crazy amount of skin packs they do which alter cutscenes. You can be Ackbar in cutscenes in force unleashed 2! Might make for a fun video
Fun Fact: These DLC were based on a old What-If comic book series called Star Wars Infinities. They had one for each Star Wars Episode of the original trilogy, and this one seems to be based mostly on the Empire Strikes Back version, where Luke dies in the cold of Hoth because Han Solos Tauntaun dies before he reaches him. So with Luke dead, Leia is trained as a Jedi instead. But these stories are pretty good and worth a read. If just to see Yoda crash the Death Star into Coruscant.
It was honestly pretty cool to be able to see how things would turn out after the Dark-Side ending. As, the Light-Side ending was considered the canon ending.
The endor cutscenes are rendered in engine so you can achieve some pretty funny results depending on the skin you're using. Personal favourite has to be the guybrush skin
I'm sure this has been mentioned in the comments already but I did a quick scan and didn't see anything. @2:04 Jabba sends you to the Rancor pit. The Mighty Sarlaac pit is where you will be slowly digested over a 1000 years. Jabba's got a lot of pits.
Hearing Dee Bradley Baker voicing Boba Fett is so cursed. I know it makes sense, but still, even stuff like Battlefront 2 let Temuera do it. Although kind of cool that Leia is Catherine Taber, who is their go-to Padmé voice.
Force punting Ewoks in Force Unleashed 2 was always fun lol. I liked the second one most I think. The dlc where you go to the Jedi Temple was pretty cool too.
In The Force Unleashed 3, Starkiller finally eliminates the emperor. With Palpatine gone the true threat to the galaxy is revealed. Darth Jar-Jar. Find out what happens next in The Force Unleashed 4. Preorder now to get the History of the World Part 2 tie-in ship Star of David.
I mean considering how much stuff they just outright lifted from Legends while saying "there is no source material." or whatever, basically pretending they had no content to work with. Probably. Alot of it just felt like "Lie while ripping off existing content and just hope nobody notices."
After considering all the references, I think they were just hoping no one noticed. I admittedly didn’t until a couple of years ago, but after looking at all the small details and stuff like that, definitely took from the dlc. No shot they just so happen to come up with all this stuff and call it a day.
It all makes sense now, Force Unleashed Dark Side DLC would have had Starkiller face off against his greatest nemesi, the deadly duo of Dexter Jettster and his master, Darth JarJar.
The absolute paradox of the RotJ dlc is kind of hilarious. Like, Leia references Luke falling in the Hoth DLC when you fight her on Endor but the Hoth DLC takes place in the alternate timeline where Vader dies but then he's alive in the Endor dlc for FU2?!?! Makes no God damn sense lol
The Force Unleashed was the first game I ever had for PS3 and I had an absolute blast with it and it's dlc's . Did multiple playthroughs of the base game and Tatooine and Hoth ones. One I noticed you didn't mention was the Jedi Temple dlc which was great as well. The second game is alright but way too short.
You see, this is probably the biggest reason why the George era is so fondly remembered in retrospect. While the Prequels had their weaknesses, so many of the extras (the video games, the cartoons, the good bits of the Expanded Universe) were just that f*@king good. Just look at the EA _Star Wars: Battlefront_ (2015), if had fewer features than the ten year old Pandemic Games original. _Star Wars: Battlefront II_ came out better, but only after being patched to Hell and back.
I like the Tatooine level best because it ends with two boss battles on the trot. I also have a fond memory of it because it came out the same day as the Joker dlc for Batman Arkham Asylum so you could play as the Joker and fight Boba Fett in the same evening.
Thank you for reminding me that not only when Lucasfilm was bought buy Disney we got a massive drop in quality in what was being made as well as an EA exclusive to the games but we also missed out on Battlefront 3 and the force unleashed 3
I honestly think this alternate timeline should have been the focus of the entire series. No clone stuff or anything like that for the second game. Just have it be the alternative version of a New Hope
To be honest it was probably because we weren’t expecting our favorites to be taken out just like that. That was at least the case with me, and when I looked back at it, I just told myself that was honestly the main reason and was hoping for something else.
"...what could have happened if Star Wars was written by an edgy 15 year old." I know what happens when SW is written by an edgy 15 year old, The Rise of Skywalker happens...
Nah, an edgy 15 year old would make something better than Rise of Skywalker. RoS was made by a young teen hopped up on tons of sugar while having ADHD and being autistic.
I've only played the first one of the special edition and what I like of it is that now you get to feel like what it's like to be the final boss of the video game instead of fighting the bosses
I have a feeling Starkiller’s gonna regret taking Luke as his apprentice in the hoth DLC because he’ll most definitely grow much more powerful than him. Just another story for dark side Luke to take power and a Jedi Leia to stop him and save the galaxy
Fun fact: In the endor dlc, you can punt the ewoks. Not even joking, you can straight up punt them, and there's even an achievement for kicking i think 20 of them
It always bothered me how the 2nd game’s dlc how Leia as a Jedi since she says “my brother fell on Hoth” which implies that Starkiller killed like on hoth. Which means that the dark side ending of the first game made that happen. Meaning Vader died and Starkiller defeated Luke. Which means that since vader was gone, the 2nd game wouldn’t have happened and his clone never would’ve existed. Perfect paradox and nobody cares because it’s just for fun, which I love!
Starkillers outfits across these DLC episodes are some of the absolute coolest character designs in all of Star Wars. I particularly like his Hoth gear
Is it just me or did the sequel trilogy steal some stuff from TFU2 DLC for the new movies. Like how the han death scene has the exact same shot composition as the game and Leah looks very close to what Rey ends up looking like, such as the robes and yellow light saber
This game was so over the top but it was so well written and the characters didn’t feel awkward in their interactions so killing a force ghost by throwing them into the engine of a ship didn’t feel “out of place”
