Great to read these memories! I saw it twice in Sydney in 1987 and these songs just stuck instantly. The lyrics, particularly in this one are ingenious. I still have “listen to the chatter of the diesel force/generating 2700 horse” right there at the top of my mind after almost 40 years lol. It’s pretty bizarre but I love it! I seriously could see Tyler Hanes playing Greaseball in a Broadway revival of Starlight Express. His Rum Tum Tugger was extremely popular and basically Greaseball has that same energy.
