I'll definitely buy it if I had the cash, Fisayo. Why? In the long run, it is worth the money, saves one the stress of internet somersault of our usual GLO, Etisalat, MTN and Airtel wàhálà, and it will improve in the future. I want to believe that. For now, I still prefer MTN 5G. Your just and candid reviews of both Starlink and MTN 5G say it all.
Gaming latency depends on how far away you are from the game server. No matter how good your internet is, you can't get a latency below 50ms from Nigeria unless the game server is in West Africa
@@erhunmwonseredaniel2827 yea. The lowest latency I have seen is between 60-70ms in call of duty mobile. Most pc games(apex legends, overwatch, Fortnite, etc) connect to Europe servers which will give you a latency above 100ms(usually around 150ms).
I read somewhere that reason for this is because there aren’t many African gamers in Africa and as a result it wont be economical building and maintaining multiple servers in the region.
@@femiairboy94 Africa generally is a poor continent with unstable internet and electricity so it's obvious they won't make profit from us. They will lose a lot of money maintaining their game servers in West Africa. There are few game servers in South Africa though.
I feel like this video does not fully reflect how bad starlink becomes when it rains. There are times when there is no internet connection at all. Not just 75% decrease in speed.
This is how a review should be. Balanced, unbiased, well-proven and well-researched. Not like that "tik-tok-er" who is so egocentric and ONLY dishes reviews that are biased and negative due to personal and uninformed opinions; without zero research about the product itself. You're welcome.
Hi. I have this old lg flagship I want to buy from aliexpress. It has a from At&t, Verizon, and T-Mobile. All American. Any advice on the one that will work very well with our network here for both calls and data? I just don't want to waste money. Thanks
Investing is not for everybody, you just need a strong stomach too see your portfolio go down. It might be wiser for a novice to start with Index investing, but it is not easy. My point is that when investing you need education first. To invest in growth stocks it is another level, definitely you need to know what are you doing.
This is a phenomenal advice for a new stock traders and investors who want that quick short term game, but don't see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Well, this is a complete video. Honestly I am not happy with Starlink giving me DStv vibes regarding bad weather but I guess that's the disadvantage with satellite tech. I'm an internet power user though so I think I may still get one. Thanks Fisayo
Splendid video as always. Your review was 100 percent spot on, zero embelishments nor exaggerations. However, I was hoping you'd address your previous tweet about having downtime during a rain. You only mentioned you had a degradation on performance now, but your previous tweet (which generated a lot of traction, if I may say) suggested otherwise. I also love the way you showed the dude that disassembled the router to fix it. Finally, regarding the ticket, a trick I learnt from another reviewer here @JCristina, is to follow up daily on the ticket. It kinda bumps you up and they tend to respond faster when you do. From my personal experience, it has taken them 6 days, 4 days and 11 days to respond to my 1st, 2nd and 3rd tickets. But once they respond, it's usually a positive one. All the same, great video man.
We already had our review edited and scheduled for publishing before the tweet. Yes, it's true that we had an outage for quite a while but it wasn't extremely long and it only happened one time. We thought the tweet would be a channel to share it but the common occurrence was slower speeds as opposed to total outages which is why it stayed in the final production.
@@subsplease-gk7yo Not everybody, watching this video in 4k would slash 7.5GB from your data plan. Starlink is 100% unlimited and that’s the main selling point.
great video fiasyo, you just cleared some of my question, for me i think i will go for MTN 5g router cuz of portability + the guy that used 1.5TB in a month just uploaded WWIII
Amazing Review, i really wish there was fibre coverage where i stay, starlink is too expensive and the ping isn't as impressive as fibre but i'm not really all about download speeds 10-20mbs is good enough for me for now
What i would add is be careful watching starlink reviews on youtube. Too many people reviewing starlink saying bad things while they have broadband reception in their mountains and forests (americans). they could go to hell.
Hello @Fisayo fosudo For the speed tests were you on the Standard data plan or the priority data plan? Can starlink be used for small businesses with up to 50 computers with an estimated speed of 3MB/s per computer And if not would the mtn 5G be a more suitable option? Thank you
@FisayoFosudo please can you run us through the functionality of Tizette? ...abeg, make a review about Tizette. I heard people praise and condemn it. I don't know who to believe on the subject but you. Thank you for always crafting educative and informative content for us.
One missing item is lightening protection. The highest conductor on a roof is prone to lightening strikes. I would hate to imagine that this is the Starlink antennae, installed on a roof !!
Unfortunately, that won't be happening as they don't have any physical store in any part of the world, there is a store selling it at Abuja, I won't advise anyone to get that as it is meant to come specifically with your details.
The outdoor, Fixed, Powered antenna is really a big 👎👎👎for me. Wish we can know more about the rumoured Tesla Phone purported that will come StarLink ready, then one can wait to compare portability.
Great video! But even if your main audience is not americans your should add an approximative in USD to make it easier for other viewers to understand it (not an american btw). You can still use your local currency, but add an '~ XXX USD' next to it.
What is it with starlink availability in some parts of Lagos.. I ordered today and I stay in Surulere Lagos.. Below is the message I got after being debited $42.16 and confirming my order via mail . Starlink is currently at capacity in your area, so your order may not be fulfilled until 2023 or later. You will be notified via email prior to shipment once your Starlink is ready. You will have 7 days to confirm your order otherwise your deposit will be automatically cancelled and fully refunded.
Your dish is not adviced to install on highest point of your house as you did. Any lightning coming your area, your dish will take it all. Happened to many who took it so high on top of house. Mine is installed like dstv somewhere at the side of house. I de get 270 mbps
Awesome job Fisayo. I have issues with speed. I have my dish mounted on the roof of a 1 story apartment, but my speeds are less than 20mbs. The speeds were higher when I had it on the ground with obstructions.
Help I know only those who are watching might see this but. When ordering when inputting service area you put a address where you can receive the package for Starlink but take it like 45 to an hour away and set it up can u still set it up with the app saying this will be where the service will be needed instead of the mailing address?
sir please i currently work in a company as an IT office, the company just bought Starlink three weeks ago, we were using airtel 10mbps bandwidth before we got the Starlink, now my Boss is planning to discontinue the airtel, do you think that's a good idea
i agree he is definitely losing money while he is launching so many satellites so regularly the starlink devices themselves reportedly cost spacex $2500 usd per device to manufacture and package..
Boss please upon my first purchase or installation of the starlink kit.. Does it come with internet access immediately or I shall have to pay for the monthly subscription? And how do I pay for the subscription please. I want to get one
How do they operate when you change location Fibre one is fixed to a location, Starlink needs a Roaming plan to work everywhere and 5G is not everywhere
Excellent presentation..,.my question is this, please is star links immune against lightening and thunder.. you forget about thunder and lightening issues with star links...
What people don't understand is that Starlink is for area where you don't have internet connection. Comparing it with landline internet is flat out stupid
Thank you sooo much Boss I now realized why my Netgear Nighthawk Mi-fi 5ghz range is very very poor, I was literally fuming cause when I enter the toilet, it literally drops 😂
Very very long awaited and detailed video, well i expected more from starlink, it's great Oscar got a diy fix successfull. Starlink is off my mind for now, will wait for future upgrade and for naira to appreciate 😅. This is an A1 content Fisayo.
