My review of Starlink after using it for the past 6 months. In this video I discuss my experience under the following headings: - Durability - Speed - Performance when it's raining - Pricing - User Experience
I have had starlink for almost a year. I use about 2TB+ per month and this is the only ISP that has true unlimited internet. When it starts raining heavily, the dish adjusts to the nearest satellite and I get access in less than 10mins. Initially I got speed around 200MBPS but currently I get 100MBPS+. It has high lantency/ping though if you are a gamer depending on your location. In terms of my overall experience, I pay for starlink first and I use mtn 5g as backup.
Nice for the info. So, do you use the roam service? I mean when you are away from home are you able to use the service on your mobile? I read it works up to 15miles away Kindly confirm
For those living in rural areas that don't have access to either fast cable broadband or fiber broadband. Using a service like Starlink could very well be the only choice if they want internet access at a decent speed. But the monthly cost for the service will be more than your typical home broadband over cable or fiber.
We live in rural areas. We have fiber optic internet but it's 32 dollars a month. And it's maximum speed is 30mbps.. but it shuts down when there is a power interruption 😊
I ve had mine for over a year, it will defrade when its raining, those are the times i switch to my airtel or mtn 5g but even at that the 5g degrades a but to for the rains. There was a period of congestion but it later improved. Residential stabdard is the best for Nigeria at the price but those who need more can upgrade to the priority.
it's not 5G and 4G, it's 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz wifi signals. Different frequencies and range. For Wifi, 5Ghz is better but covers only a small area and doesn't so well when there's a wall. The 2.4Ghz is the common option everywhere and covers a wider range/area.
I was looking for this comment so bad!! I was surprised when he said it means 5g and 4g. That exposed his tech IQ. We learn every day, but it's better to use Google before making a classic video like this because some viewers don't read comments.
Yes, you can get that speed. But the speed doesn't stable. You can test your speed get 110mbps then, try it again get 55mbps or 140mps. But generally you will enjoy the speed.
Can i configure my residential starlink device to a switch connected to computers and unifi radios in my business facility (hospital)? If yes, how efficient will it be.
Useful info.............i been wondering iflatency is good enough to play live racing games or poker etc.. also. how does itw orkwith ip address? again something like poker is very country specific
Boss please upon my first purchase or installation of the starlink kit.. Does it come with internet access immediately or I shall have to pay for the monthly subscription? And how do I pay for the subscription please. I want to get one
It says it has a range of 2,000 ft sq, by my calculation that should be as far as maybe 5-8 street away from any street, can this be a right assumption ?
Weldone with your review. One question though, I just set-up my Starlink yesterday and I've been getting between 10-20Mb/s and I'm not sure why this is the case. Can you please advise?
For the past week or so they haven't been performing at optimal levels probably because of a lot of cloudy weather we get these days. Also, mine had a similar cold start. Just give it time
Weather doesn't effect my Starlink at all. I live in the rainiest state of the United States. When the rain is falling I have internet always. Depending on your location depends on what ground stations starlink is using. In the future satellites are all going to be equipped with technology to speak satellite to satellite. It will get much better in the future. Give it time and your speed should increase.
Are you still getting low-speed? You can try to use an ethernet cable to mesh with a router line T-link Mesh router to improve the speed and leniency of your Starlink.
@@amandasokei And did they charge in Naira or in dollar? Like did they deduct the exact amount shown on their website or more? Which bank card did you use, please?
They charged in naira, the same amount on the website. The internet has worked perfectly for me and can be used for gaming. I use Access Visa card. They accept visa and Mastercard but not Verve
Boss please i want to confirm about the data usage, because i am currently using a different company and they have different packages, i just paid for 30k unlimited monthly subscription but in just 10days i have used up my speed allocation and now i am back to a slow speed.... so i want to confirm with this 38k you pay, whats the data usage, like how many gigs did they allocate to you and have you ever had the experience that you finished your allocated speed and then your mbps fell down to a lower range thereby slowing down your internet speed???
I pay 45 CAD/month for an unlimited plan with 100 Mbps speed. It's more than sufficient for streaming on Netflix and Amazon, as well as handling my tasks. I don't understand why people opt for pricier options.
Where I live at, we’re are considered the end of the line for every service provider and cell reception can be ok with only 10mbps and there 2-3 times a week where even that drops off to nothing. One compnay has been saying they’ll be upgrading to fiber in the next few weeks for the past two years. We’re tired of not having a good interent connection. We have family who work remote and the internet is basically their lifeline.
People pay higher amounts if they are downloading a lot of large files and if they are uploading larger files frequently. Heavy data users. You're an average user
I want to buy starlink in Zambia. They just started offering it. I want to use it to sell to ten users at a university or residential area. Please let me know if its possible. Im doing research before i buy
You understand the English language very well. However; you are a RU-vid influencer. You are trying to deliver a message. Your thoughts and words are spoken so quickly it comes off as one long phrase with no pauses. Slow down and pause after each phrase. Your audience will be more engaged with your content. Your knowledge can be shared with many and people will follow you because of this, but you can do it at 200 mph. Thank for your content!!
Hi, thanks for your review... I just want to find out if you have tried using one account on multiple starlink devices? Or must each device set have an independent account?
Bro you need someone to cross check your facts. Employ someone for this. 2.4GHz and 5GHz ARE NOT 4G and 5G. Also, in what universe is 38,000 naira not a better deal than 42 dollars??? Dude. Employ me.
LoL, maybe I need to add a pinned comment for the 2.4Ghz and 5GHz correction so I don't have to keep replying to everyone that mentions it. 2nd, this video is like 9months old now and $42 was higher than 38k back then.
For goodness sakes, stay away from this company, if possible. If your service goes down, you may be in for the most frustrating, incompetent, ridiculous customer service possible. I will be contacting the Texas attorney general to get my equipment back. Starlink has no right to keep my equipment. I paid $649 for that equipment. It isn't theirs to keep.
@@kirarakurokawa8747 Oh. You mean like when you rent a modem they wait days before replying? Do your mean when you rent modem, you can't contact them using a phone, or an email, or chat? Do you mean that when you rent a modem it can take nine months to resolve your problem? You mean when you rent a modem you pay $649 it, and when they tell you to ship it back to them, they initially tell you that they aren't going to give you any of the $649 you paid for the equipment? I guess you are right then.
In the uk they now do a rental service so the huge upfront cost isn't needed ive always wanted to try starlink even if it don't work for me i know i have wasted hundreds of pounds @@jeffkustes8563
