Please enjoy our submission to #NavyMusic's centennial celebration of Lt. Cmdr. John Philip Sousa's commissioning into the @U.S. U.S. Navy Reserve. We present our National March, "Stars and Stripes Forever."
I wish this comment aged well lol. Most military bands are on the way out. Special bands like this are just that. The best musicians in the country. Sadly, military music as a whole is on the way out. At least 4 Army Bands closing just this year 2024.
One of the best performances of this piece out there! The tempo, the piccolo, everything was crisp and about as near to perfection as a group can come!
@user-vc2od1wg9o I'd like to see Russia even try to touch what only ONE of our military bands 😂😂 Probably won't even be in tune! can't even properly invade tiny Ukraine 😂😂😂 Try again commie! USA for life!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸✨️✨️
I was fortunate to be able to play trombone on this wonderful song at All-State Band. One of my best memories playing in band. Love the brass line in this!
What's the 4th without "Stars and Stripes Forever"-- and top it off with the US Navy band. I have goosebumps! AND....my Dad played with the band during WWII!!
Increible que tal energía para tocar mis felicitaciones a todos los integrantes de la orquesta y en especial al que dirige la orquesta muy excelentes saludos desde lima peru
I wish I were older so I could play something like this.. I think this song is a grade 4 This song is genuinely so good Maybe I’ll get to play it in Highschool ! :D
I'm bringing this up in my seminar tomorrow to discuss brass band music of the 19th century, I'm glad to share a bit of the US in the UK. I miss playing in band sometimes!
In August, 1941, when Winston Churchill first boarded USS Augusta (CA-31), to meet initially meet Franklin Roosevelt in Plecenta Bay, Newfoundland, the ship’s band played Stars and Stripes Forever. That, of course, was the momentous gathering - less than four months before Pearl Harbor was attacked - where the Atlantic Charter was written and the US/UK were forever bound in brotherhood, loyalty and friendship. I have, however, always particularly appreciated the message sent by FDR that America would endure and prevail.
Out of three United States military band that played this song, which are The United States Marine Band, The United States Army Field Band, and The United States Navy Band, I like the Navy Band's Stars and Stripes Forever the best! There are a few reasons: First, the very beginning of the song is louder than other two bands, which gives people the feeling of shock and power! Second, The US Navy band used a very unique arrangement that has a lot of intresting elements that I did not hear in other two bands' performance. Third, The US Navy Band is the only Syphonic orchestra in military bands!
If Mr. Mike Pence is totally Innocent, Virtuous person, if possibple, let him be the next US President, All American People!! My US SGI members would agree with me! Thanks so much!
