So, from the last Easter egg of Washington sticking the knife into the apple, this is the mirror universe and the birth of the Empire - this is a great story and really well done just like all of the Farragut episodes. It's a real shame that the audio goes out of sync part way into the episode but, having said that, this is proper Star Trek true to Gene Roddenberry's vision.
At the end when Washington skewered the apple with a dagger and the camera zoomed in, I was thinking, "Oh, no!!! The Terran Empire," as chills ran up and down my spine.

On another note, the discrepancy in voice alignment began 27.23 into the show. Before that it was fine. This episode and this series is still excellent. Just enjoy it.
I remember two spools, one each for voice and film. We would hoot and holler when the projectionist would start them out of sequence ... you unknowingly triggered old, old yet fond memories .. may GOD richly bless you all !!
Prussian-German officer Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben came to America on his own via France. He brought the military skills he had acquired as a Prussian officer to the Continental Army. As Inspector General, he wrote the first drill manual for the American Army and provided up-to-date military training for Continental troops.
Very impressed that a entire set was built. That has to have cost some coin. I'd really look into seeing about a tailor to get those uniforms more properly fitting. Some dialogue was not needed and most of it weak. Check for better lighting too.
I loved that knife through the apple. Brilliant!!!! Overall, this was amazing! The writing captured the essence of Star Trek and the characters were great! Excellent work guys!!!
@@southernknight9983 If you been a long time fan of star trek then you already knew what that meant. It was the start of an Empire that made itself known in TOS Mirror Mirror. This gave homage to how it could have started by one event that started a chain reaction. As I said it was chilling and we all knew what the knife and the apple resented!
I think they did get better as the actors became better acquainted and felt they had a more real part in the persons that they played, and as they became more familiar with acting and playing with and to each other, with what worked and what didn't, and with the unique pace of acting within a Star Trek universe setting.
This is one hour 4 minutes so yeah likely not the full episode but worse the audio track is so fucked that you have to wonder if this was only uploaded to get the advertising hits. That's a practice that needs to fucking stop and anyone uploading a purposely fucked up video should be tracked down and shot! Hear that bitches? You are not going to get money you are going to be killed.
This reminds me of the old Japanese Kung Fu movies with out of sync voices. Especially the movie Police Academy where the black police cadet was imitating the old Japanese Kung Fu and karate movies. Yet it is annoying!
For anyone who can't sit thru the entire episode because the voice sync is delayed there is and easy work around if you have moment of patience to open a duplicate window of the same video. Mute the sound on the main video and the turn up the volume on the duplicate and just pause / play / pause / play a few times until you sync up the sound on the duplicate window's audio with the video from the main movie. It took me only a few moments to get the sound to sync up and was able to enjoy the rest of the movie without getting frustrated. I am sure most of you already deduced this fix with Vulcan Logic. "Live long and prosper". Thanks to the fans who put forth a valiant effort to bring this to us. Great Job!
You figure if fan productions in the 00s can do 1960s trek we're only another 10-20yrs from fan trek doing TNG era quality... provided its 15mins or under. Let's all thank axanar for ruining everything for the rest of us... seriously everything is supposed to be 15mins or less? How the hell can you tell a story in 15mins or less unless you do a nostalgia critic "review" of an otherwise nonexistant episode?!
Good story, but it was like watching an English dubbed Hong Kong martial arts movie from the 1970’s...I’d hear the lines and a few moments later, the actor’s lips would begin moving. Oddly, the closed caption would remain synchronized to the audio and that helped some.
This was the start of the "Mirror Image". That knife in the apple was the second clue, the first was when they were talking about change events in an "alternate" universe
An intelligent story which ties in so well with established canon that I'd have no problems with it being included as such. If only the current abusers of what masquerades as Star Trek took such care
22.56 into the episode and the captain declares "phasers down" to avoid altering the time line. However, he ordered everyone to set phasers on stun only this preventing anyone or thing to get killed off. Now the reality is altered because of the capture. That's a flaw in the script.
Need a director to really get the actors stronger in their roles and grasp those characters they are protraying. With modern latex masks and other good quality capabilities it is highly suggested to introduce some new aliens "not other humans in costumes".
@@pwnmeisterage It mean the birth of the Terran Empire, the mirror universe counterpart of the United Federation of Planet. But the Terran Empire are the opposite of the United Federation of Planets (The Terran Empire are fascist, violent and xenophobic regime where the Federation are free, democratic and benevolent)
@@jeancabaille Ah thanks ... 1:00:39 to 1:01:07 ... I didn't notice it before. There are supposedly an infinite number of universes and an infinite number of mirror universes, parallels with alternate pasts and alternate futures. The Terran Empire probably has as many different variations as the "Prime" timelines.
@@pwnmeisterage Well, it is probably the "Prime" Terran Empire because in a later Farragut episode, The Farragut encounter the ISS Potemkim from the same Terran Empire encountered by the crew of the USS Enterprise. And in this Terran Empire, the Founder and the First Emperor of the Empire was the same Washington who was meet by the Farragut crew
To deal with the sync problem, open another browser with the same video, switch off the sound on the one you want to watch and use the sound from the other.

You're worried about voice syncing? What about the alleged "acting?" I've seen High School theater groups with better actors than this bunch. The guy who plays the Captain is the worst of the group, but he created the show so I guess he HAS to be the Captain.
You're welcome to make your own. The technology is there. They did improve as seen in this episode. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jJKQ1FHQc68.html
The weird thing is that the voices are fine in the version with Spanish subtitles. Great story. Their shirts should carry the teardrop Starfleet insignia. Each ship does not have its own.
@@steventibbetts9557 Actually... www.startrek.com/article/starfleet-insignia-explained TO: Bill Theiss DATE: December 18, 1967 FROM: Bob Justman SUBJECT: STARSHIP EMBLEMS Whilst sitting in dailies today, it was noticed that a Starship Captain (from another Starship) was wearing an emblem unfamiliar to yours truly. I have checked the occurrences out with Mr. Roddenbery, [sic] who has reassured me that all Starship personnel wear the Starship emblem that we have established for our Enterprise Crew Members to wear. Doubtless this situation has arisen due to the fact that a different Starship emblem was used last season on "CHARLIE X". However, the personnel of that other ship in that show were the equivalent of merchant marine or freighter personnel -- and therefore not entitled to bear this proud Insignia on their individual and collective breasts. Please do not do anything to correct this understandable mistake in the present episode. However, should we have Starfleet personnel in any other episodes, please make certain that they wear the proper emblem. Under penalty of death! @@JungleBoi9 well ORIGINALLY the reason was given as each ship had it's own insignia and it was after the exploits of the original enterprise they standardized on it to honor them. You know I just wished that this was real and we could have done something more than just gone to the moon or even Mars but build starbase and moon bases.
yes, they need to sync up the voices but they did a great job overall. Was this their version of a set up for "mirror, mirror" from the original series. Knife in the apple at the end was a giveaway.
I too concur that the sound dubbing needs repair. But the story was fantastic--especially the plot twist in the epilogue! It took me a few seconds to piece together what it suggested, but O...M...G!!!
Did not go out of Syn until 28 minutes - but it happened very fast. One one scene the sync was perfect - and in the next scene, it was totally out of sync. Thank goodness I can read the Subtitles and still understand whats going on - even if the action now lags behind.
The Mirror Universe as an alternate reality - of course. Although I dont recall a knife and an apple as part of the original episode. All I remember is Spock with a goatee.
