I just came across your channel; you had my interest, now you have my attention. I have an herb and spice blend that I want to market, I’ve sent samples to friends and family members asking them to try it in their recipes, they all love it. What’s more important, the people they’ve cooked for all think their dishes are from a restaurant. Not to take away from their cooking, this blend adds a lot to their recipes. I’m currently researching on how to produce my spice blend for the masses. This video has helped. For future reference, my spice and herb blend is called “Rhett’s Kentucky Blend”.
Hi Rhett, I am so glad this was helpful. I am sure it is delicious! I have several great spice co-manufacturers I have used with clients and they are super happy not to be making it themselves. I would love to help you in your journey. Food Business Success is open through 1/31 to get help from me live and make this dream a reality. I would love to meet you! foodbizsuccess.com
I’m sorry, I don’t read many comments or reply’s since I’m a common dude, but I guess I’ll have to change my ways 😃 How can I send you a bottle, try it out for yourself. It literally can go on anything; chicken, pot roast or fillet mignon.
I have already been contacted by a few major retailer's. They are wanting 18 of my products. It's a major deal. I own Mauki's Bakery and restaurant in St Louis Mo.
That's so exciting! If you want support with this next level, I offer 1:1 coaching that has really helped the clients I work with to feel more confident and move faster. Sari
Thanks for the videos! Can you do a video on the types of food packaging insurance? I thought of that when you mentioned needing an address on the food label in case the FDA needs to contact you. I'm thinking if they need to contact you, you're in big trouble and need to be insured.
In your example the co-packer was also sending the product to the customer. If my co-packer is creating and shipping directly to a fulfillment center would I require any special licensees, or would I have to register with the FDA ? Thank you for the information.
Hello Salliman - every business and product is different. Have you taken the Whip Up Your Business Workshop yet? That is where I would start. www.foodbizsuccess.com/start
Hi, This is great. I run an e-comm business, looking to expand our brands product range into food/grocery items. These products have a shelf life of 6-12 months. We are based in Australia but sell in North America. We already have a US based private label manufacturer who have agreed to manufacture the product for us under our label. I am not sure, what are the requirements for us as a non-US based company to start selling food products online?
Where are you located? There are some national databases and also some state databases. What is your product? I suggest joining the Facebook group (link in comments) and then you can ask there and it will be easier for me to reply there.
Question. What if I plan to use a co packer located in a different country? For example I’m in the U.S and the co packer I plan to use is in Mexico. They’ll be manufacturing and packaging the product. At first I’ll be distributing my product until I have a customer base and it makes sense to have the co packer send the product to the seller directly
You will need to work with an importer with the proper credentials and get all of your licenses worked out to sell legally. All of your labels will need to be FDA compliant as well.
We have a product that is very profitable, crazy sells. My father wants to sell the sauce to marinate the meat instead of him selling the food. We want to do everything out selves, what do you recommend to be the first step?

Hi Sari LOVE your videos! I have a question. I’m interested in getting into the frozen french fry business and would like to know if I buy fries in bulk from lets say a big french fry company like McCain, am I allowed to repackage it to resell under my companies name? Is this possible by law?
