But still uses Google Chrome…. 🙄 Protect your data people, stop using Google. Firefox is your best option, Brave is great but is chromium based so it’s somewhat dependent on google to stay updated.
@@TheSSR_ the two that will be the easiest to move to would be brave or firefox. And given the recent info about google’s plan for chromium, I would recommend firefox. Make sure to set your security settings to best suit your habits though. The stronger the better.
@@Tranewrekk lol no? You're giving instructions to ninite, you are downloading this ninite installer, that installer then looks at the instructions you've given and goes to the publishers' official websites, downloads the installers for the 64 bit versions and runs them. You click through each installer yourself as if you opened them yourself. You don't even have to install them through ninite if you don't want to, you can just get it to download the installers and manually click through each one and check or uncheck boxes, choose install location like you normally would. You can even check before you open them to make sure they're the official installers. Ninite isn't installing anything if you don't want it to. You can just use it to download everything instead of going to each site yourself. It's literally just automating the downloading and opening of installers. Tell me you don't know what ninite is without telling me you don't know what ninite is.
Guys my mom told me that if i reach 6k su- Just kidding, i'm not a bot, not yet at least considering our future seems to be leading to immortality via becoming machines.
I'm all for convenience, but at the end of the day, they are a third-party company that you are relying on to not make a mistake or do something nefarious. There is really no accountability with stuff like this, and you have to make an effort to verify for yourself that nothing nefarious is going on and not get complacent. Otherwise, you end up in another source forge type situation or worse. Just use winget manifests or something safer. If you still want to take that risk, go ahead, but be careful.
@@32Belownature No, sourceforge, which is probably where curseforge drew inspiration, considering their very similar designs. Sourceforge was kinda of like github before github, where many different software and software repositories, source code and issue tracking services were hosted and could be downloaded from for free. They were well trusted for offering a great service for free for many years. Then they started to bundle adware and other semi-malicious unwanted software in the downloads with a not so obvious opt-out and unsavory level of disclosure.
I personally use Winget since it's already built into Windows. It can also export a manifest that you can use to instantly set up another computer with a simple command.
Don't feel bad man. I've been building 'em for years generally a couple a year minimally.. I've never used this. Never even heard of it. But next time I setup a new system I'm likely gonna forget all about this and do it one by one again😂
For the longest time I have had a USB stick I update every year or two with a set ninite installer and essential files. Anytime I need to clean install windows, this is a lifesaver and time saver.
@@flappyjay_gaming i didn't say it wasn't good? i just find it obnoxious when people show off what Superior Browser they use whenever an Inferior Browser shows up.
I've been using Ninite since like 2014 and its such a time saver. Any time I reinstall my OS or got a new computer, ninite was IMMEDIATELY where I went. It's so good.
Chocolatey has excellent package coverage these days. I would think it's probably better for the average person than this given the larger list of available software?
@@Link-channel "I used to rock Ninite and drivers packs, but then I found out about Proton and Lutris and never suffered ever again with windows." Amen! I just switched to Pop! OS and it has been a pretty smooth experience so far.
@@KeithOlson If you learn how to install non-free repo, and nvidia-drivers, and flatpak, you can go back up the hierarchy with a clean Debian 👍 It happened to me, I started with LMDE which is the easiest, then slowly moved up
I just install winget and then use christitus windows utility tool for the rest. We can also mass upgrade all programs installed through the utility as well.
I mean, it's possible but it's just as likely as any other program. You're also not downloading a package from the website, you're downloading a program that automates the process it for you. Ninite needs an internet connection because those programs you choose on the website just instruct the ninite installer you downloaded to go to the official websites for those programs and download the latest 64-bit version's exe file then run it. You still click through the installer as normal. All it does is download everything for you and open them so you can install everything in one go. The installers are downloaded to your computer as normal. I've been using ninite with no issue for years, since I changed my boot drive to an NVME and did a fresh windows install god like 5 or 6 years ago. I was sceptical at first but I did my research and it's safe.
My friend is extremely anti-AMD for some reason and wants nothing to do with the company. So anyway he has an old Dell 2310 All-in-one PC with a dedicated MXM slot (for "mobile version") graphics card. One day he got up and found out that his ATI card had been rebranded as *AMD* since AMD had acquired ATI in 2006 and the rebranding of ATI graphics cards to AMD was finalized in 2010 (not saying AMD cards can't be used on with intel systems, just pointing out that the card was technically an *ATI* mobility radeon card when he bought his computer: it has an ATI graphics logo sticker instead of an AMD graphics logo sticker) He said that he felt betrayed lol....
You don't want to 'remove' the Edge. It will not end well for you in perspective. Just install you favorite browser, set it as default, and live happily ever after. You will never see it again unless you intentionally go broke something else
This is the way. Linus did a video on it a while back. Plus if you install the gui or go to their site you can make sure that its pulling a legit version to install.
Mutahar talked about similar things , i wouldn't install software using 3rd party apps like that. When u have to run things as an administrator it can end up badly. Ofc no one says they install malware or some shit with it rn but they might in the future. Better safe than sorry.
Nah when i interned for school i went to a tech company and they use it aswell its safe at ninite bc i did the same when i got my pc and ive had 0 malware to this day
@@p99chan99 It IS Winget. It's just a UI for it, for those who prefer that. Also it allows for easy auto-updates, export/import of packages from a list, and much more.
Hey quick question, I broke my tempered glass and I'm using a cardboard box to cover my tempered glass hole can you recommend a case. (please make a video)
No, thank you. I very much enjoy randomly realizing that I forgot about a program I used all the time, after multiple months or years without it. It's part of the experience.
Depends if you want the extra features that nvidia offers if you don’t really care then the 7900 gre will give you more value per dollar just make sure you do your research before buying anything
What are the prices? If the 4070 ti is like 620ish then just go for the 7900 gre and spend the money on other parts. The 7900 gre has great performance and if you want to use ray tracing it isn't so bad but you'll have a better experience on the 4070 ti. But unless you play singleplayer heavy RT games the 7900 gre is amazing value.
At the same price ($550), probably the 4070 Ti. They're about the same in raster performance, but the 4070 Ti is much better at raytracing and has access to DLSS features. 7900 GRE does have 4GB more VRAM which could future proof it better, but for now 12GB is good enough for 1440p and 4K gaming (there are edge cases where 12GB isn't enough for 4K). If you plan to use the PC for more than just gaming e.g. streaming, video editing, 3D rendering, etc. etc. then even more reason to go with the 4070 Ti. Edit: It's unlikely to find a 4070 Ti at $550 unless it's used, so I'd go with 4070 Ti over 7900 GRE as long as it's no more than $600.
They're a plague across YT that's been getting worse over the last couple years. It seems that the problem is either intentional or too complex for YT to fix.
I use this program since 2014. It is so good I use it when I only need to install one program that I don't want to go find the original site to download it.
I won't lie, if there was a website that'd make you the best pc part list from these apps and the budget you'd also type in that would be an absolute game changer
Keep that 1 file and run it every couple of months. It will install any updates for those apps that has come out since you first installed them. I just script it to run every 30 days.
Omg....this would've saved me sooo much time...if I discovered it a few days prior since I newly switched to SSD after my HDD almost died...But thx for the info...I will make sure to remember this!!
I'm using ninite to install JDK, JVM, Python, Discord and Zoom. I've got everything else in the portable versions. This way I can reinstall Windows without a hatch. The main meta for making sure that your Windows installation is clean is to setup the temporary files directory into a different folder. Both the system and user ones(except when you have multiple user accounts but that's the story for another day) into the single folder. But you gotta be sure that you clean out both the user temp folder and the folder that you've created since some programs hardcode, instead of using system variables(i can see sense in this because majority of the people will have it there by default). If something breaks fatally in the system or Windows Update will screw over with some files, I can reinstall Windows and be ready in under an hour, because I have all the backups.
I use a windows Powershell script, no extra installs and over the years we customised it to make the whole setup for us(in terms of installing software)
