Fantastic. Every person should grow fruit trees, focus on being self-sufficient, it's only going to help and improve everything in the bigger picture.

Nice stuff Azz, densely planted trees is what I have to do to fit a few hundred trees on my suburban block. It's pretty easy to be 80-90% self sufficient in veges and fruit with a little sweat. And yes learn to love pruning!

Happy to see each video. Wish you all the best in your journey. Glad you’re sharing it with us. I’m on a similar path here in Hawaii. Grow most of the same exotics you are. The difference in our approach is that I space most trees 8-10 meters apart. I’m concerned I would eventually regret it, if I planted them closer. Thankfully we have plenty of land. Best wishes.

Hey Az, Quick question, we have round about the same climate where we are on the South Coast of South Africa and I grow many of the same trees. Did you graft any of the trees your grow or are you waiting for them to fruit from the seedlings you planted, if not, how did you get them to fruit so soon?

I grow differently in my food forest, 4-5mtr spacing interplanted with nitrogen fixing and beneficial plants. Full sun plants will never have the tops chopped off as they provide shade, not one blade of grass is grown only ground covers like sweet potato and nasturtium. Happy harvesting

Hey Aaron,, Stumbled across your channel this morning. We used to farm back in Canada. raised our own food both meat and veggies. fruit not so much, Obviously Canada not being a very warm climate. We just moved to Costa rica in March 2021. we have bought property here and are looking at starting a food forest at the back of our property, now that we have finally completed the pool and rental builds next door. My question. I am curious. Do you fight with leaf cutter ants down under? You can buy a pesticide that comes in a pellet form here but we never used chemicals or pesticides on our farm in Canada. I really do not want to here either. Just curious if you have the same problem and have found a way to combat them? Pura vida! from beautiful Costa Rica ;)

We've got about half an acre on the Sunshine Coast that we're starting to do the same with. It's an old lychee farm with one large Lychee tree about 3m³ it's not flowering or reshooting as much as a lot of the other old lychee trees in the area so I think I'm going to give it a cutback to see how good it comes in the next two seasons we've also got mulberries bananas pineapples and an extra large herb garden with everything that we need for cooking. I'm a chilli Fanatic so we'll get multiple different species of chillies for smoking and making sauces rubs etc.
