Do you have a second video on this? Is a 68 and a 69 the same?

1968 - 1972 Chevelle tanks are basically the same. I have done a number of videos on gas tanks - Here is one that goes a little further into it on a 1972 Malibu. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nXEj1jOfn5U.html

Hey Mark, Just came across your video. Just want to thank you, it cleared up some questions I had. Is your tank galvanized or stainless and does it make a difference which way you go? Thanks

That’s a great question, if memory serves me this particular tank had a galvanized paint on it. I would have rather had a steel tank with a clear coat on it.

I purchased a Dorman Fuel Tank and Sending Unit with fuel line return. It really looks like the one in your video. Only this tank sells for $230 and the sending unit sells for $49 at AutoZone. My fuel lines coming out of the sending unit point slightly (about 15 degrees) toward the passenger side of the car. I am wondering if this is correct. I just don't know if these pipes coming off my Dorman unit are correct and point in the correct direction. When I go to connect the rubber hoses to them it makes a tight bend. Do you have a photo of the tank and installed sending unit before you put it in the car. My tank is out of a 71 Olds 442, but I think they should be the same. I can send you a photo of my tank if you would like. Many Thanks.

It does go a bit towards the passenger side - but I will let you be the judge on how much. photos.app.goo.gl/2gozfGng9YYGZjJZ6

Is that a 135.00 ebay 17 gal tank ? My 68 has a 20 gallon tank. What's with the different capacities. ???

As I mentioned this tank was purchased from Ausley's Chevelles through E-bay, The cost was $169. Comes with sending unit and seal. As far as capacity, All I can tell you is that was a direct replacement from the original gas tank. Same size, same vent tubes. You will need to do your own research on capacities. The Team Chevelle forum is a great place to do your research. www.chevelles.com
