I too am a bit worried about powercreep but it's pretty tough to definitely say as it is so intrinsically linked to new character archetypes coming out and others filling in niches. Without saying too much I think we can look to Sparkle and what she offers over Bronya as a good example of what powercreep may be present for the foreseeable future. From my understanding, she settles into her own teams while only stealing the spotlight from Bronya in a few scenarios. This seems pretty positive and healthy. Edit: This is a genshin thread now :)

Hanya can enable a 0 speed dps to always act 4 times in the first cycle of wave 2 when paired with 137 Spd Eagle/Vonwacq Bronya. It’s a small niche, but it does exist.

I'd like to see this same analysis combining both MoC and Pure Fiction tier lists, because they are different. There is a lot of discussion by both of you that seems it would be more relevant to an overall combined tier list, as opposed to JUST going by looking at Pryd's MoC only tier list. Lots of characters move around in tiers a TON between the two lists (Argenti and Herta are together in S+, Himeko alone in S, Dr. Ratio dropping all the way down to C for example,).

your conclusion is right, tierlist seems decent, you guys try to 0 cycle for content but thats not the aggregate player base. after we dogged on Herta and now everyone says to built her I take tierlists less seriously. HSR can force units to be better

I've done most MoC 10's and 12's with Gepard as solo sustain on one side, even pairing him with Jingliu draining my teams HP, as long as you can build him well enough to get his shield back up before it drops I think he deserves more credit on the tier list

On paper qingque probably looks pretty rng to use, but in practice I feel its quite consistent getting 4 of a kind from 2-3 skills, even without the autarky she already deals quite a lot of damage, let alone with autarky.. Also outside MoC, like farming SU every week, I have a quicker run with her than dan heng IL...

I run hanya with argenti, ruan mei and huohuo(e0) and I'm really happy i have her. she allows me to always do everything, so comf. sure as hell won't 0c with this team but clearing content is really easy also xueyi is nuts. she consistently outperforms my seele with the same gear

Regardless of what praises people speak of Bailu, as a Bailu owner she literally lost usage the second I got FX and Luocha. And heavily disagree with the statement about cleanse not being important. If that’s the case I better not see you use any cleanse units or cc-prevention unit like FX. As for the point that this MoC being an exception for needing cc resist or cleanse, it’s clear that they’re gonna only make even more forms of debuffs that would only make Bailu worse over time. Lynx is more future proof this way

I started around the very beginning of the ruan mai banner. Basically, 1 day before the Argenti banner ended, sw was there too. All my friends went for Blade. i picked ruan for my first limited 5*, i can say without a single doubt worth it 💯

Cleanse is good because a CC on ally is a dead ally for 1 turn. If bronya is broken because of +1 turn, then cleanse is also broken because it is a +1 turn.

Hanya is underrated tbh. For any team that's sp heavy, she's a lifesaver. She makes DHIL teams SO much nicer to play, and also gives a nice dmg and speed boost. I'm considering skipping Sparkle since my E4 Hanya does a good enough job for me (Plus I wanna save for Acheron).

Imo, I think dhil and sparkle will definitely be something to look out for. In terms of dps, sparkle covers dhil’s main sp problem so that he can 3 turn with proper efficiency. Jingliu + bronya is gonna have some competition, just saying

True, tierlists are a great discussion starters as it's impossible to make 100% objective tierlist for a game like this unless you maybe make a tierlists that's straight up a bible length and has every character ranked in every scenario separately but aint nobody going to do that shit

I think March 7th's role is now even more niche with the inclusion of Misha and yes i know, Jingliu existed, but i didnt get her like in a single pull at all like Tectone. Misha was very valuable for me as 'he' not only consistently does more Freezing with his traces, but he also can stack AOE Ice Damage on enemies that is able to be frozen like Ebon Deer and even the Swarm King is a walk in the park even with a not so greatly built Misha. Since he only needs 100 energy you can even sometimes don't require HuoHuo or Tingyun as he probably gains energy fast enough with ERR rope or just by him getting hit as a Destruction aggro character or just him AOEing the enemy and by the time the Ultimate is up, you definitely have more than 5 Ult hits anyways and AOE freeze to stall more with Ruan Mei.

Ruan Mei is the best character in the game, I fully believe that. It's GENUINELY crazy how busted that woman is. Speed buff, dmg buff, res penetration, weakness break efficiency, does extra damage when allies break the enemy, action delay, who decided to put all of that in one character.

I completely agree about Seele. For mintpickers who Have E0 Seele with mediocre relics, she'll perform horribly. But if you have the first couple of Eidolons, and a cracked set of relics, she's still completely broken.

As someone who has played Topaz since release, most people don't realize her true value. It's not damage or even the buffs. It's the trigger. I noticed it with Ratio. She forces him to drop all his ult FuA instantly . With more FuA units like aventurine, more people will realize It's similar effect to Kafka force detonation..Numby forces a dominio effect

They honestly should've put sw in the specialist category (break wolf, crit wolf, hyperspeed wolf especially at e1).

Silver Wolf is such a tough one to rank. Because in my mind their are too many variables (like are you e2 or no? New Debuff set vs Quantum set? Are you using her as a pure debuff, a sub-dps or even a break unit? etc.) and also no one's really retro actively looking at her and testing her viability much either. Like for example, SWolf in a Dr Ratio comp is amazing. Dr Ratio, SWolf, Topaz and Fu Xuan comp, great team comp regardless of what build and what eidolons you have on SWolf. Pick one target, erase it, great for a lot of MoC bosses and because of SWolf even if those more solo oriented bosses don't have the applicable weaknesses, they do now. You can also build her in a Quantum-centric break team with Xueyi and Fu Xuan as another option. The other thing as I mentioned before is, people don't really care much about SWolf these days. No ones really testing if the new debuff set (which I know everyone will say, well that's a doctor ratio set) is a net buff for her. I mean if you have her lightcone she can literally apply I think 5 debuff's in total herself. Perfect for obtaining the new sets buffs, if you're an e2 sub dps SWolf why wouldn't you go for it and be able to add things like more speed or even more attack because the new set will passively get you about 8% more crit rate and even more crit dmg you know? If used in the team stated above with Fu you'd get like 20% crit rate for free with 4 piece set bonus and Fu buff. That set may even open up the option to play Sub Dps SWolf to people without e2 because they wont have to find as much crit stats. Prydwen, where this tier list is from doesn't even list the new set in any of the 3 SWolf builds, e0 break effect, e0 - e1 debuffer or the e2+ Subdps debuffer build so until some one tries it we wont know. So those are the pro's. The con's are mainly found in this concept of "universal usability" which means she's dead useless to pure fiction and even some of the more add spam MoC bosses. I can agree with the S purely because she is still S teir at her debuffing job with the single highest nerfs of any character. But I can also see why some people say A because she only puts those debuffs on a single character at a time and she definitely wont ever be S+ again because her job is becoming less relevant in the face of the newer enemies they are starting to release but also for a more subtle reason... We simply have more DPS options now. Before it was really important to be able to use your best god tier units in scenario's outside of their element because their wasn't a character in the applicable element that could get the job done anywhere near as well. But now those elements that lacked strong options when she released have the some of the strongest dps in the game. In particular Ice and Imaginary were particularly weak when she initially released. Ice now has Jingliu, the single best hypercarry in the game at this point where as before they had, Yangqing. Imaginary went from Welt being their best dps when SWolf released to having both Dr Ratio and DHIL. The latter of which is arguably only bested by Jingliu because she does the same damage for less cost. Fire is really the only element in the game now without a strong solo dps but most of the fire weak enemies are built around the strengths of fire units and are AoE type enemies that you can take a Himeko Topaz combo to crush and have Topaz focus the boss and buff Himeko as she handles the adds. All of that effects the assessment for the use of SWolf and is the biggest "hidden nerf" to SWolf in my opinion. Thanks for attending my TedTALK if you hung around till the end XD

I dont know if thats only due to having an E6 Natasha vs an E1 lynx, but in my experience lynx is always having me feel like shes just not doing enough and my team will die regardless, while natasha feels much better at keeping my team healed and herself safe as well, plus i find myself having to waste sp with natasha much less than on lynx. Ive tried both with the same (scuffed) relics and natasha talents are a bit more leveled... still doesnt feel like it should have such an impact

What ill say about Bailu vs. Lynx. Its not even about Cleansing CC because poping a Lynx ult to cleanse 1 or 2 ppl while at near full hp tends to be a waste not to mention if she gets CC'd that makes the ult useless however i think Lynx is better when you need to cleanse team wide DoTs from the team and outside of that i think Bailu is better because of the revive but more importantly the dmg mitigation from invigorate and that just being useful more often than Lynx cleanse.

I have bronya and ruan mei but when i get sparkle im gonna have to sub ruan mei out for sparkle. E2 imbibitor with these two supports will just be insane.

I think hanya should be built with break effect to get the most out of her as a unit. The only stat she actually needs for her kit is speed and she can take defensive main stacks on her chest and ornament so you can actually sink a decent amount of substats into break effect. Shes probably not an easy character to coordinate breaks with because she doesnt have a damaging ult but she skills pretty much every turn so at least she does some pretty considerable ST toughness damage throughout a battle while still generating a net positive sp contribution. If your dps isnt fishing for the weakness break for themselves having a support that can do a savage amount of break damage isnt a bad thing to have; she is physical element afterall. That being said i do agree that she probably needs to drop down a rank when compared to Asta or Pela.

I personally use Hanya with Sushang to turn Sushang into am sp neutral/sp positive unit. She shines on Hypercarry comps. Hanya's advantage over Asta is she offers damage % buff and is sp positive in all situation (Asta is only guaranteed to be sp positive at fire weak enemies) And specially with a unit like Sushang who has an innate attack buffing capability in her ult + boxing relic set giving more attack, having a damage % buff to balance stuff out is kinda nice. It's also nice that the 40% damage buff from Hanya is somewhat teamwide.

Really enjoyed Hanya in my Argenti team, until I got Ruan Mei. Still use Hanya if enemies are weak to Physical & immune to Ice, but Mei is more use for her precombat technique in addition to being best on my account ( I don’t have Bronya- super glad Mei came to me!)

One thing with TY vs Bronya thing in a 0-cycle setup, they are the same when it comes to SP economy, i use TY skill all the time or skill basic skill and bronya uses basic skill skill and her ult with Signature LC gives another, and also TY it's not that universal she is for ATK scaling characters, and dance dance dance is really what makes TY great

Eh. I'm going to respectfully disagree with the take on Silverwolf. SW has seen a ton of value with Dr. Ratio considering he gets more chances to do follow ups with the amount of debuffs she brings to the table (by more chances to do followups, I mean he has a guaranteed chance to do a follow up when she debuffs. She also applies debuffs with her AA. She's also extremely helpful for f2p players and low spenders if they don't plan on pulling every single elemental DPS in the game. It makes it so they can save their pulls to either try to max out their preferred units or to pull on sustain and better harmony units. We also have to consider that an e6 Pela is also hard to get given the fact you're not guaranteed to pull her on the standard banner. You're chances of pulling all her eidolons are fairly slim since every new 4* gets added to the standard banner and you still have a chance to pull a LC instead of a character for every 10 pull. She's also going to see immense value with some upcoming units that will probably rely on her to be on their team. *cough* Acheron *cough* . I have a feeling that hoyo is probably going to release future characters that rely on debuff stacking to enhance their damage. She might not be s+ tier sadly but she still has a ton to offer. Overall, I agree with everything else lol. I'm a big DHIL user but I know JL deserves that S+ spot.

25:02 for F2P accounts or new players Hanya is really good. Especially if you don’t have Ruan Mei. I use her a lot on the accounts without Ruan Mei and with Dr Ratio/Welt teams because of the skill points. Sparkle is a solid skip this patch too for a lot of players because if you’re not running mono quantum I don’t see the point. Hanya generates more than enough skill points so I feel like if you have Bronya you don’t need sparkle. Acheron is around the corner too so she’s someone I think dolphins can wait before grabbing. Too many good units coming out

SilverWolf is bad against non-quantum weak enemies with different element carries and if enemy is quantum weak, why run silver-wolf with Selee and QQ versus harmony/Pela? I have Jinglu and MonoQuantum(FX,SW,QQ,Selee) as my 2 teams for MOC and Monoquantum is so bad and slow and never feels good to use. After Selee and SW start of the game i was forced to pull FX and now i'm forced to pull Sparkle just to play the team i hate...

It's important to note when you said you'd put silver wolf in B tier for pure fiction, they have her in D tier there lmao. That tier list is based purely on Memory of Chaos not factoring in any of the other content in the game, they also have another tier list for Pure fiction. They don't have a general tier list for how good a character is universally through content, they just focus on those 2 modes.

I'll definitely start running my seele with sparkle and Fu Xuan if only because she'll be far less infuriating up build

Well yea the meta kinda everchanging every patch with new addition units etc. i would say there is powercreep albeit kinda vsries in speed, i wanna say slow but JL did outperform IL as best dps and she was released 1 patch after so yea. Tho overtime old units become better with new support, relic, LC added into the game so its hard to say sometimes. Also as long older characters can clear all contents then all good tbh. Even selee JY etc from 1.0 still performing well.

I like ruan mei dont get me wrong and i run her alongside bronya many times but is she better than bronya? I dont know about that.

Power creep has been a thing but i don’t see a problem with it if older characters are still strong. My Kafka could clear moc 12 just fine without black swan and just using gnsw with a lvl 70 sampo, now with her sig and black swan she’s twice maybe Almost 3x as strong because I have bs e1 and sig but it’s not helping me get more jades its just clearing content faster

Considering how important DOT-based teams are at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point we get a boss with a passive which just cleanses all of its (and its allies) DOTs which gets triggered by having a certain amount of DOTs. Basically a boss which is specifically crafted to defeat DOT-based teams.

Is Hanya really so mid that she belongs in the C-tier at E6? I've been consistently using her on my alt account and she's felt alright to use. I think I'll always personally aim to use almost all of the Harmony roster just for variety's sake. I have Ruan Mei on both of my accounts but I really don't want to use her 100% of the time even if she is the best option, that just gets so boring. I'm still waiting on a limited 5-star harmony unit that pairs well with Clara also. RM boosts her DMG but break effect extention is massive anti-synergy for Clara. Also, both Hanya and Asta attack with their skill so they pair well with Xueyi for that reason. Xueyi gains stacks every time an ally depletes an enemy's toughness bar so depending on enemy weakness I'll prefer to use Asta or Hanya with her. I don't mind if it's optimal or not, her follow-up attack animation is super cool and I want to see it as often as possible in battle.

Im so happy that i skip silver wolf for Ruan Mei. Players kept saying the SW is better than RM, but I aint believin their sht

Loved your point with the Bailu/Lynx/Gepard comments. I get so annoyed with Gepard because the RNG in my experience is just awful, HE NEVER GETS HIT! I have him really well built and an ERR rope on him, but his Ult is never up because he never gets hit, and he's level 80 with his sig LC. Yes I'm sure statistically he still gets hit more than other characters, but it's not enough, I always have a support get killed with him as my sustainer, because the enemies only target them. Lynx does have the aoe cleanse, but it's tied to her ult, so she can only cleanse occasionally not consistently, so I still think Bailu is better than her, because Bailu is not only tanky af with a HUGE healing output, but she also adds HP and Damage Reduction, I can't even have Lynx (and yes, she is fully built and built well) solo sustain a level 5 NORMAL Simulated Universe run, unless I'm using my A++++ damage dealers and support, that kill anything before it takes a turn and at that point.. why is she there? But yes, I value Huohuo and Fu Xuan a lot more just simply because they "cleanse" better (I don't even use Loucha's cleanse actively because it's not worth the skill point) and they bring more than sustain. So I agree those 2 belong top tier for MoC/Pure Fiction, SIm Uni is a different animal, in that case FX 100% top tier, but I actually use Bailu still more than Huohuo in Sim Uni. But that isn't what this tier list is.

I think a major thing people forget about Sparkle is that her skill advances the chosen ally forward. This means that even if you use her in a team that'd usually be SP positive, you'd want to skill with her every turn for crit buff + action advance, and the action advance means the character you advance takes more turns, which means you're using more skill points, so it's actually hard to have a team where you're capped with skill points because you can just use them more often. This means there'll be almost no team where you have excess points, but at same time, she still helps teams that are SP negative with her SP regeneration. This is why I think she'll actually be decent for Jingliu, the action advance could lead to her getting into enhanced state 1 cycle faster, and I think it's clear why that's so useful. I'm not saying she'll be BIS or anything, but with Jingliu you still won't cap in points because, again, you can just skill more and more often. TLDR: Sparkle may not be BIS in too many teams, but she can help almost every single team before better than alternatives

38:00 Facts!!! She is not only good but has build diversity. She has only gotten better with every patch. Very skill point positive and I was using her in place of Luka because she breaks wayyy faster than he does because she boosts her own speed and advances. I feel like the reviews on 4 star units are going to be bad because people prioritize 5 stars and HSR has Genshins problem of too many five stars but Sushang is actually good. If Xueyi is an A then Sushang should be there too. If you have a fully invested Sushang then you legit don’t have to pull for physical units. Her skill pops off 25-35K damage and she is SP positive. Her ultimate dmg is mid but that’s mostly a utlity to advance her action to attack again. If you put her on full auto then yeah she’s underwhelming but most characters are

It's sad that she fell off, and I won't deny it, but I still use Silver Wolf. Not to mention I'll also plan to pull Fu Xuan in her rerun to get the mono quantum convenience. The reason is, none of my DPS is reaching endgame content stats lol. Even with, really decent starting subs, my upgrade rolls just very unlucky lmao. In this case FX + SW band aid is very very convenient.

As cliche as it sounds the 'meta' is evolving. Its not as straightforward as it was in 1.0 when characters fit cookie cutter archetypes of tank, healer, support. More and more new units are starting to fill multiple roles as well as new niches getting introduced (like hanyas sp generation ). As well as new content being released that are tailored for certain units (erudition for pf). The only powercreep that really exists are the units that only do 1 thing/role will start getting phased out to a new character that can be a tank AND a buffer . Or a healer that CAN buff. Does that mean that older character is inherently bad? Not neccessarily as long as they do that 1 thing well enough ... and if they don't thats when they get replaced. Regarding Bronya vs Sparkle debate, it truly depends on the players roster and playstyle. As much as i hate giving the "it dependsTM" advice, that is how it's gonna be.

I'm fine with SWE0 nothing beyond A minus. From E6S5 SW pov and rise of duo DPS, SW is S for me due to dmg + support potential.

Sparkle is only +1. It seems like people think she is going to giving you 12 extra sp per cycle.

If a character does dmg out of their turn then ruan mei and if they do dmg in their turn then bronya also adv 100%.

I can say, every unit hv their own BiS ( their S+ team ) and the enemies mechanic. So S or S+ are based on the team they're put in. Just plug n play them n you're good 🎉
