Hullo Irit, I like learning methods for creating, over learning step after step to create an artwork is truly a better way to master a medium and create art of our own rather than duplicating another artist’s style or art. Hi Irit! Your comment about the NOT step-by-step guidance given in this book really caught my attention. I'm not sure whether it's my ADD or what, but I'm horrible about following each & every step of instruction, especially in art. I will skip through or scan or try to "chunk" the instructions, rely on photos, etc., and only go back to read more carefully if I think I've really missed something important. Of course this is not the best way to do every sort of task. We know, for instance, in baking, virtually every step is necessary, unless you're already very familiar with the recipe. I have had some oops when I've missed an important step or ingredient. But since I too tend to be somewhat intuitive in my art, I'm pretty impatient when I do need to follow more specific instructions (and I will, but my progress moves a lot more slowly and I may quickly get impatient or discouraged) or I'll just just try to get the general gist and go from there. Thanks for sharing this book...looks like a good one!
Glad you enjoyed! I can relate to a lot of what you wrote and it took me a long time (still ongoing!) To really paint the way that I love to paint and move on to the next painting once I lose interest. It's a journey!
