WP Carey's pretty good but I haven't heard a lot about MS FIN. I'd recommend talking to people on LinkedIn who are in this major to get a better understanding. But based on my very limited knowledge, I think east coast schools are much better and connected to the Industry - like Columbia, Penn, NYU, etc. These are the 2 programs: wpcarey.asu.edu/masters-programs/finance
Hi bro, I had a few questions about MS in Software engineering at ASU. Firstly, Is there going to be any difference in terms of job opportunities for MS in CS students and MS in SE students? Is it easy to get on-campus jobs here to fund living expenses? how were the placement scenarios for the previous batch in ASU btw? It would be a great help if you can let me know:)
I have been talking about these in the discord server, but here's a quick view: 1. For SWE jobs, it's going to be very similar. Number of applications, Resume (projects, skills) and referrals will matter more than the major in itself. For DS, I think CS might be preferred over SE because CS is a more holistic degree which fits a lot of spaces. 2. No it's pretty hard getting an on-campus job. Requires a ton of applications, generally. 3. Pretty bad as compared to previous years. Not just at ASU. The overall hiring scene is bad.
