Omg what a difference in regards to the AI, I have given up on iRacing with the insane cost and the lack of clean racing this is exactly what I have been looking for! Thank you so much, any idea on how to fix the occasional car glitch were the opponents cars will shake and surge forward? And sometime when I start a race my force feedback turns off randomly.

Thank you for this I really want to do some proper IMSA style racing and this is the best sim hopefully you pointed out all my issues with it but one question you have to set there when your done qualifying and physically wait for the AI? That seems ridiculous that the computer can't you can't go to the race. Excited to try this out as I just picked up the DPI cars.

Just re-discovered rFactor2 and have been struggling to set it up, which is why I gave it away in the first place. This gives me new hope of getting it to work right. Cheers. Oh, iRacing has lost the plot too many who just don't play nice anymore.

Great video as always. This is the first game where I have had to look up details about how the menus work and lots of things I was not aware of. Does show how in-depth RF2. I don't race with AI as I feel at the end of the day they just follow waypoints however some of those config file changes look interesting so will give it a go. Training your AI? Is this a thing? I have been just going straight into races. I will give this a go. It would be useful to have a dedicated video about online races, where to get the details and also the mods that each race has dependencies on. I have often not been able to join races due to base models not existing errors, whatever that means.

Do you have to let the Ai train or anything or can you just jump into a race?

I set ai aggresion to 0.5 but when I go to the in-game settings it shows as 25. Not sure if this is right?

Could someone maybe explain to me that thing with the visible Vehicles? So for example, I setup a Race with 20 cars but set the visible vehicles limit to 12, I'm only able to see 12, even though there are 20 on the track? Wouldn't this be a huge disadvantage since I would crash into them, because I'm not able to see them? Or how does this work?

Honestly, i'm on my second day of owning Rfactor and I almost want to give up. First time I launch the game, I get no cars and tracks. Found out i'm suppose to download them in the workshop Then I accidently launch it in VR when I just wanted to change few settings and I close the game, this cause the whole game to validate its files and apparently redownload everything from the workshop. Cherry on top, there's apparently no good version of Laguna Seca...

Great ! got most things figured out - really thanks for AI manipulation in the JSON file. AI can be most problematic! Im wondering if anyone knows of a method or addon to allow search or identifying previously assigned buttons in the assignment menus ?? Really hard for me, am I missing something ? I notice MSFS 2020 and DCS and XPLANE all have tremendous tools for this, all of the Racing Sims I have used - AMS 1 AMS2 Rfactor Assetto Corsa have none except AC with a limited text search . . . Most are not even sorted alphabetically . Must be some method to add on or find buttons at a later time ??

What engine does it use

A lot of people are saying the latest rF2 UI is so much better. I think they may have been smoking something because there's no way to add opponents to a race. Try this, start a practice race. It will say that there are no opponents and take you to the settings for the race BUT THERE'S NO WAY TO ADD OPPONENTS!

For me the UI constantly breaks to the point where I have to restart my pc. I can't even get to the point of running the race I want, which is why I have uninstalled the game for good until it is fixed. (I'll probably be having my midlife crisis before that happens)

wth with this "sim" cant select any car or track what if only want to do hotlaps and how in the hell calibrate pedals, cant setup my loadcell mod brake this its a BIG PILE OF cr... the game even exit properly and take ages to load a track in a fastest nvme drive steam finish first to check all files

I'm glad you didn't make it a requirement to download multiple mods, I think mods make it way too fkn unnecessarily and overly complicated. If you gotta Install a fkn shtload of mods to enjoy a game, you're spinning your wheels on the wrong mudd puddle. Nuff fkn said

I had this game installed for over a year but decided to try it today, it lasted a solid hour after that and then unistalled it, could just not enjoy it, not because of the driving but i just didnt liked it and it had 1 car and 1 track, i have to buy everything else, really? Yeah i downloaded some mods, but still not worth the space on my hdd

Remember RF2 is a sim, others are games that are a bit realistic !!!!!!! Edit : If you want realism, you want a tyre road simulator, not lovely graphics ... learn how to setup a car and you'll get quicker ! Edit 2 : A single screen is s**t, you need triple or VR ! Remember, you only look at the next apex, and that is what gives you speed ! Still liked :-) RF2 rules

rfactor 2 is still better, ACC limited content gets boring after awhile.GT cars all day and limited tracks is not the ticket.

I tried this game the other day and I jus can’t get into it, the graphics are so out dated, it’s not just the U.I things have moved on so much now, think we need Rfactor 3 now

I have no cars or tracks.. the UI doesn't look anything like what you're showing.. this is by far the clunkiest most absurd games I've ever tried. Can't even jump into a offline race without crawling forums trying to figure out how to install the content I PAID FOR!!! Ridiculous

I've never felt more scammed by purchasing a game. I download the game for $15 on steam and then there are no cars or tracks for me to use unless I pay more money. Scam game.
