I'm a week into my loc journey I've started them on my own so watching these videos helps me learn how to maintenance my hair ,my question is ,when should I wash and retwist my hair for the 1st time ?? Some say 6 weeks or 1 month, I don't have a daily or weekly routine yet but I'm creating one as I go, any info will help so much. I have the 2strand twist locs. Thank you

I am not going back to the person that did my starter locs because the gel OMG it was thick. I washed my hair before a week because I couldn't handle the itching 😩 and some of the gel are still there after 2 rounds of shampoo. I will try doing them myself. Thank you for this video

I know this video is old but i see some people who does locs say to clip the whole hair shaft ?? Your doing it differently and it’s really nice . My boyfriend hair is much thicker than hers so when i don’t clip the full shaft and it puffs up . So what should i do for him

I started my loc journey in January of 2020, and I am feeling a little disappointed because my hair doesn’t seem to be budding. The coil is still tight looking. Does washing it more frequently help it swell up?

Hey I have a question for you I got my locs for the second time and I’m day 6 now is it oh okay when I get to 1 month to wash n retwist my locs or should I just wait til my 6 week that will be July 6, 2021 on my bday cause I can’t remember when I got my first retwist when I had locs the first time that was in 2012 n now I just get my locs back in may 25 , 2021 it day 6 for my locs now and what will be good to retwist locs without get built up in thems so I can let the person who start my locs for me .

I got starter locs 3 days ago and the beautician told me to come back after 4 weeks and di not wash my hair. She'll do a spot clean when I come back for a retwist

😳 No!! I disagree with this so much. My client come back in 3-4 weeks yes, but if they need to shampoo their hair I tell them what to do so that it's not really frizzy

Blessed Bae use a leave in spray! No cream until you are fully mature. Even then you must be careful not to squeeze it in your locs

It simply helps with shaping your locs for a more uniformed look. If you don’t mind the more semi freeformed look where each loc takes on its own unique shape... them retwist whenever you want. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

probably because of the comb, you didn't set all the hairs in the same direction. i have starter locs myself so idk for sure but it's probably fine. i have like 3 small nappy curls on the end of all mine, makes them look puffy

Kimberly Winkfield yes it is, depending on the curl pattern. I’m located in Altamonte Springs, FL. I’m on maternity leave right now.

I was told a minimum of one month was the time for a retwist bc any earlier would cause thinning..

You were told correctly. Mine are a bit more mature so I tend to go 6 weeks apart.

iguana girl thanks for watching, once they are more mature you can go longer, it’s important in the beginning so they shapes properly if you desire a more manicured look. If you don’t mind the natural organic looking locs, they you can go longer. But you were told correct.

Kutthroat Dre ... I usually do my own but what I do is I twist it in the direction I want it and release it in the way I want it also some may stick up but I just keep working them.

I have very fine, long hair... not sure of the exact hair type, but I've looked at several charts, and I think I'm a 2c. I started my loc process about 2 weeks ago with comb twists. My hair at this point just kinda of looks like curls. They're going to take forever to even start locking from what it seems like. But I want to wash my hair so bad lol I just know if I do, my parts and my twists will be gone. I need help as to how to speed up the process, if possible 😫

Oh no, different hair textures unravel easier than others, but we just have to put it back. A clean scalp is a healthy scalp and more important than the hair locking. How's it going now?
