I just recently started following you, me and my son is trying to start a brand for clothing. I can honestly say this is way harder than i thought it would be, especially when you are having to learn every aspect of the business. yeah man, i'm really reconsidering if my own brand is something i could do fulltime, and fully legal. when you do street sales and markets it's fun and you get the cash on hands, but once you go B2B and via retailers, hushh its a lot of legal and tax things you gotta get straight and the margins are difficult to work with.. i'll see if it makes more sense if i can get a funding and some good advice from legal side. running a business is not a joke at all. if i can give an advise, do it on the side, do the fun part with your son, go sell on festivals, and think about the legal part once you got a safe amount of earnings under your pillow. good luck and courage to you and your son to make the right decisions. cheers from germany

I started my clothing brand by using print on demand services, and transfers, vinyl etc. I been looking into applying for a screen printing part time job just so that I can learn how to screen print and pretty much soak up game hands on by learning from somebody who knows what they doing and are good at it. I love the meaning of your brand my brother, because I definitely relate. I work in construction which is my main source of income right now, and at the end of the day I swear I'm just dead. I start thinking about how tf I'm really bout to pull all this off, or if I can even do it at all. Like you mentioned, at times I have this self doubt bout myself and feel like everything I want to make happen is overwhelming. I been trying to find balance with work, learning and creating my own designs for my brand, and putting my brand out there to my audience. Wanted to ask when I search afterhrs there's multiple other companies and sites with the same name... Did yours get a trademark because you added the word brand with it? Jw so I can maybe do that for mine as well
Trademarked with the shorten text, but excluding formalwear to not fight with men's warehouse who originally trademarked afterhours... so it's a fight and a risk, I could potentially just lose all the money into filing and not getting the trademark if the examiner doesn't approve.. have about 9-10 months to find out

Outsourcing will cost more money, but will save you TIME so that you can focus on sales and marketing. At the same time, doing in house could potentially also cost more if you yet to have the right skillset to do it properly or have the same equipment that you're outsourcing the production to.
