I received requests about the start procedure for the Cirrus SR22. After the start, I figured I should add a finish. The result is a flight from Cedar Rapids (KCID) to Chicago Executive (KPWK). I've added flight gauges to the video. Besides the GPS signal providing some inaccuracies in speed and altitude, I am wondering if you find the instruments distracting or of value. Leave your thoughts below.
I'm also interested in your suggestions for future videos. There are a lot of great aviation videos our there and would love to know what you think makes them great.
Wishing all of you a healthy and happy New Year..... and of course, BLUE SKIES and Tailwinds!

My pleasure. Are you a pilot? Where are you based? Any areas of interest you'd like to see?

It is a wonderful plane. Are you in the Chicago area? Midwest? Do you currently fly a Cirrus?

@@pfflying6275 southeast area. No- student pilot here and have actually never flown in a cirrus. I’m holding off because I know I’ll love it and then nothing else will satisfy! 😂

@@elvishuff1267 LOL. Actually, if you're like me (and we all are alike), each airplane will scratch an itch of yours. While the bulk of my hours are in the SR22, I used to call the Bonanza V-Tail I rented, my testosterone bird. It had switches, a blue prop knob, cowl flaps, retractable gear, a pre-oiler, etc. Some would say they prefer the less complexity of the Cirrus, but I love them both and enjoy the Bo for its complexity and the interaction between pilot and plane. What are you learning in?

Excellent...But please leave don't speed up the video on final approach!

I appreciate the feedback. My goal was to reduce the length of the video. In the past, I cut segments out to keep it below 20 minutes (actually would like them less than 15 minutes). I thought speeding up the video would help to provide some visual continuity, while cutting the video length. I think you're saying the bumped-up video speed is fine, but not on final, correct? Good feedback.

Thank you for your videos. Great video editing. Thank you for the lessons. May I ask if I am not bothering you, are you ca Private Pilot, or Coporate , Airline .. I love the Cirruss SR 22 the interior feels like a brand new Mercedes from 2022

Daniel, Thanks for your comments. Never a bother to talk aviation. I am a private pilot. I keep threatening to get my commercial, but life seems to get in the way. I had planned to do it this week, but as you may have noticed on my latest video, I had an engine out, so am without my airplane. I may even work towards my CFI, as it allows me to combine my love of aviation with my love of helping people learn new things. To your point, the SR22 is a comfortable and fast ride. But I also love flying many models (Beech, Piper, and others).

@@pfflying6275 Thank you very much for your honestity. I have just stated to walk into avition currently doing my PPL waiting eagearly for the first flight. After that I will most likely go the route of CFI to build hours and also help people. I can't wait to repair your A/C and start filming new videos. Untill then I wish you a pleasant day blue sky and tailwinds. with respect Daniel from Romania.

I fly a 2002 cirrus sr22 and will like to start record my flight, which recording device you use and how you get the flight instruments gauges on the screen i like that. Thank you

Gavin, I use a GoPro. There was software that I used on my PC from GoPro called QUIK. It put the gauges on there. They discontinued it on PC's however. So I bought something called Telemetry. Not as easy to use, but very powerful. I need to get back to using it.

Are you running ROP?
@pfflying6275
@pfflying6275 Год назад
Generally I do. Unlike a turbo, which basically requires LOP, the POH for the normally aspirated engine shows 65% for LOP and ROP at 75%. Obviously, a lot of people run LOP at higher percentages, but after spending time with the folks at Continental and wanting to follow the POH, I ended up with ROP. My CHT's are perfect, and obviously the EGT's are good as well.
@stevec9188
@stevec9188 Год назад
@PF Flying do you ever run LOP? What made you favor ROP? Not judging, or favoring one side, just curious
@pfflying6275
@pfflying6275 Год назад
@@stevec9188 I think I answered it above. Continental (the engine manufacturer) and Cirrus (via the POH) state very clearly, LOP is only at 65% power or below. I fly closer to 75% power, which they say should be ROP for normally aspirated engines.
