Start small. Cotton candy .. then making it. Grabbing those few customers, market strategy.... then success will happen....of course failure will happen... expect small increments then .. work ur way up... !! Tutorial was what I needed.
I love your video. Someone else said it too in the comments, but you have a great personality! So bright, uplifting, and very practical. You mentioned helping clients get their businesses up and running and you that you love doing that. Is that a specifically a service you offer, or does that interaction come with the sugar orders? 😊
Hi, new subby. Thank you so much for all your awesome tips and for sharing your expertise. I’m so glad I came across your video. I feel that this is positive sign ✨☺️
I'm just starting out and bought i machine (commercial $189 machine) I got it for $60 which is a steal. And I'm going the organic route. Planning on doing some prepackaging maybe a local grocery store and I'm planning on farmers market. And maybe eventually I'll have a food trailer but I'm just starting with not doing live spinning especially since I'm still figuring out a technique.
SO SO SO happy I found you!!! In June I was hitting the ground running trying to open my cotton candy business until it came to a complete stop when I was having a very hard time with packaging!! And there are very few resources out there about making cotton candy! I was so discouraged. Thank you so much for your videos and please know you are 100% motivating me to open my business again!!
Thank you for your comment! SO glad you are motivated to start back up! Feel free to email me if you have any questions or let me know if there are specific cotton candy videos you would like to see!
@@spunparadise8823 Thank you for offering your help! A few videos I would love to see is how to make cotton candy sugar, how you set up your cotton candy catering for parties/weddings plus how you price catering for parties!
Thank you for the great information. Question. Where can I find the straws you are referring too? Do you have a photo of what cotton candy on a straw looks like. I have never seen it.
HI, I came across your videos and so happy I did. I had so many questions and watching your videos have pretty much answered them all. First let me thank you for the information. you are such an inspiration to so many. I have one question when it comes to making your own flavors. As a starting point what is the recommended ratio to mixing sugar and flavors? I just watched your maple sugar video and you recommended 2 to 1. Would you recommend the same for creating your own cotton candy flavors?
Hi Roz, we sell the flavored cotton candy sugars on our website if you need them. As far as making your own, I recommend trial and error, putting a vanilla bean in some sugar for 5 weeks, mint leaves, etc. Thanks!
Pricing question for you. How do you decide how much to charge a client for spinning live at an event (for say 150-200 ppl) VS. Bagging the cotton candy for the event? Also how do you portion control in this situation... Do you use one or 2 (or more) of the scoops per serving?
Pricing will definitely depend on the area you are in. I have clients that charge anywhere from $100-$400 per hour. Also the size of the event, toppings, cart customization, and types of materials they want the cotton candy spun on will affect pricing.
Do you have any info on the Rovsun maker? Was looking at it because it has a temp control just starting out will be my first machine ( choosing between Rovsun &Vivo)
Super excited we are fathers heart family org love creating jobs for the Youth. And crate finances for our city I ran across this video and you are super sweet I love the Lord Jesus and thank you so much keep us in prayer
A lot of machines say not to add sugar while it is spinning, and that you should turn the spinner off when adding sugar. I do not see this as realistic when making different colors and sculptures while you have customers waiting. Do you have any advice about this? I have watched lots of videos and it seems that people tend to ignore this and just keep adding sugar when it is still spinning. Thanks! Very nice videos.
Depends on the type of machine. If it's a vertical release, you can only add sugar while it is running. If it's a larger horizontal machine like a Gold Medal, then yes, you generally turn off the machine otherwise wires will eventually start to strip, but it would take a long time for them to do so.
Thanks u soo much @ spun paradise for your kindly information. what will the self life of cotton candy in air tight containers or in plastics Bags ?? really wanna do commercial bussiness thanks again
Hi Dana, we got a lot of inspiration from your videos to open a packaged cotton candy company. I would like to ask what humidity to keep, because cotton candy is moist and does not last a long time in jars. Then how could I buy your flavored sugar in Italy? Thanks, Victoria
We can ship to Italy. Please email me info@spunparadise.com. The packaging has to be air tight, have you tried glass with a mason jar lid? It is a very tight seal. Otherwise bags need to be at least 3mil thick.
It completely depends on your county and state. Every county is different. Some may allow a station just for the machine, where other counties don't require a station at all. We use a drink cooler with warm water and soap as our station, this is what is allowed in our county.
How do you feel about the machines that are sold with a cart? I’m torn between the Vivo and Spin 2000 machines. This video was very informative and you look beautiful.
Well you're the sweetest! I honestly haven't tried any of the machines that come on the carts, but I looked up the Spin 2000 and it looks like it is the same machine as the Carnival King or Vivo. It most likely works just the same!
What about those small home stand options, I live in a small town so there are not too many places I can go to get a lot of attraction, although there are some, but I don't know if I can risk spending 200$ on a machine, do the cheaper home ones work well enough?
What pre packaging bags are the best? I want to prepackage a bunch to have on hand but when I do that the cotton candy ends up looking really bad within the next couple days!
Be prepared to come A cotton candy technician cause your gonna burn out machines one after another specially if you get an Carnival king even the vivos got six of them only two running I did dial in on what the problem is it’s thermostats so after I replace those and she doesn’t run them continuously( longer than an hour/ a 20 min break all should be well
Carnival King, Vivo, Funtime, any machine at this level is private event catering or small farmers market only, these are definitely not for high volume manufacturing.
Hi! Have you ever had clients whose counties or states required sinks in their carts? It seems that this is a non-negotiable for my health department as a cotton candy cart would be classified as any other mobile food unit (unfortunately not a cottage food according to our dept of agriculture since actual food production occurs outside of the home by spinning the sugar onsite). Just curious if you've ever heard this feedback elsewhere or have seen carts with a sink element... I've yet to come across one cotton candy cart online that appears to have a sink!
Are you inquiring at the health dept for doing events such as farmers markets or private events such as weddings? If you're doing a farmers market and making on site, you should be able to do a separate handwashing sink in your booth, which in any states I am aware of can consist of a water cooler with a continuous flow spout, paper towel, and soap with a bucket under the cooler to catch the handwashing water. If it's private events, it shouldn't make a difference, at least that is what our experience has been in any states we have worked in. Also, I would ask them if if makes a difference if the cart is not on wheels? Another thought is for now making bags at home and then selling bags at the farmers market. You could still take the cart for esthetics, etc.
@@spunparadise8823 I've been told that it would be a requirement for any carts whatsoever, even for private events. Private events are actually what I'm mostly interested in, although markets would be great for the purpose of marketing. I'm hopeful I can start with private events, and eventually add farmer's markets to the mix :) I'm told our county health dept has particularly strict requirements which may explain why I'm not aware of any cotton candy carts in the area!

I have a machine of candy li yours When i use white sugar it work normally But when i use colored powder lik red in the sugar It doesn't work why And van you help me
Where can I buy commercial grade cotton candy machine Blind to buy it for my sister she’s single mom. With two autistic children. I think this would be great for her. Thanks
I suggest hiring a local carpenter if you cannot build something yourself. A rough sketch and meeting with the carpenter should be a good start to making your own custom cart.
Hi! I tried making cotton candy for the first time. It started well, but later came out brown. At a time, the inside of the heating plate had a lot of hardened caramelized sugar. What could have been the cause, and how do I get rid of the caramelized sugar in the heating plate? Thanks
