Starting a SD70ACE 

The start of the engine sounded amazing.

I’m so glad I found this I just recently bought an SD70ACE off of marketplace and didn’t know what to do with it

I’m telling y’all that I get happy when I see an ACe! I love the SD70ACes! Awesome video, and stay safe!

My first ever train set was a BNSF SD70ACe. The “startup” sound was very realistic in hindsight

The beautiful howls of an Ace, I have a O Gauge SD70ACe in CSX scheme, #4845, Unfortunately all the ACe's were bought out by Progress rail. And fun fact! It's my favorite locomotive with the DDA40X!

Nothing like opening the start compartment, turn the knob to prime the diesel and see the fuel fill the site glass before engaging the starter.

I’m surprised it has an air starter. Our GT46C-ACe models, which use the same engine and electrical gear, have electric starters. Starting is the same though.

Am I crazy, or does it sound like the engine has an electric starter rolling it over between 0:25 and 0:28? Hard to tell over the sound of the fuel pump running, but does sound like an engine that's being crunk with batteries that are damn near dead.
