Reminds me of the video you did a long time ago of the 1992 Ford Courier van where the entire front suspension collapsed due to severe corrosion when you tried to move it forwards, and the driveshaft popped out. Totally rotten, same era, early 1990s Fords. I drove a 1991 Escort van (company vehicle) back in the mid 90s with that engine and it was gutless and pedestrian. Broke down so many times and in the end the input shaft sheared to the gearbox and it got scrapped.
My dad had a 69 Mexico as his first car and he sold it, he wanted a escort agon when I was little so he bought one like this ( exept it was red) and I loved sitting at the back while he told me stories about his mk1. Now 16 I'm in a mechanics corse in collage and fixed multiple cars. Thanks dad for this expensive but brilliant lifestyle.
One day in our shop kame an old man with fiesta 1.8d and says he want new paint . We loked car and i ask him why you just dont buy a newer car . He said o this is nice car and the engine is onli on 840 000 km . We was shocked. He says this is low rpm engine and with nolmal use wil last and more kilometers .
I really like sound of this engine. My dad used to have MkI Mondeo with 1.8td. Great and very comfortable car. This engine sound reminds me my childhood 😁 nothing beats old diesels
We have ford escort 1998 and still driving literry 0 problems yeah little rusty pieces but he is driving to the work every single day good car very nice.
Had a T plate 1.8 tdi finesse Estate, same colour as that in 2004 . It was a great car. Have loads of footage on cam of my ol cars. Seeing your car and seeing that dash and hearing that engine takes me back. Thanks 4 sharing.
got a Ford fiesta 95' in Argentina. Same Endura engine, same sound. 180.000km, older than me, and still takes me wherever i want. Love ur videos! Cheers!
I love that old 1.8 diesel engine they go forever and ever. Got one in a mk2 Focus and it's able to show up quite a few cars away from the traffic lights
Hi from uk mate 👋 👍 I think this has to be in top 5 of lowest miles cars you have worked on 👌 shame the back axle mounts had totally dissolved but common thing with these old ford's tho nothing that a abrasive wheel and a little zap couldn't solve tho lol just pleased it ran and drive still 👌 thanks for your time be safe and see you soon 👍 👋
Ford escort diesel sitting 11 years long time air tires new battery engine is good condition bed liner tow the vehicle he can work on awesome way flexliy bless you keep it coming new videos
@@user-cd2bl3nj1h смотря какими понтами набита головушка. Хошь платить дорого за ремонт и запчасти- Ваше право. Для меня пассат 1990х годов - авто, для кого-то крузак бюджетный.
the points where it attaches to the body are rotten, this whole thing has no more structural rigidity anymore, probably held together by the roof more than anything else :D
Both good engines. If Ford didn't enter into that partnership with Mazda we would probably still be seeing variations of the Zeta/Zetec produced today.
14:42. Lol, that rear axle is so jacked. That's going to take some time to fix, too. Nice and nostalgic that it's from the 90s, as I remember seeing my fair share of these as a kid back then, but that rear axle! Whew!!
Sad to see this Escort, my Escort rust free here in Spain just blast up its engine past Saturday. It´s a shame we living too long between us. What do thing to do with it? Repair rear suports or sell car by pieces?
Hi FLEXINY friend, just explain why when you remove the alternator belt, the engine starts and with the alternator I don't know what's going on GREETINGS and it's nice that you saved this FORD ESCORT❤
It actually made me sad when I saw that rear axle "pop" like it did when you all were loading it. 😢 I can imagine that if a person were to try and fully repair the rust damage, it would be a huge undertaking. --- With the rear frame being in such bad shape, what do you all do with one like this?
I'm very surprised that it didn't start at the beginning, those engines always start at the first try even if they have been stopped for many years. The pity is that those Fords of that time rot :(.
@@ilmago5291 These are not Peugeot engines, these are Ford engines. the 1.4, 1.6 and i think the 2.2 or 2.4 TDCi's are all peugeot engines. these pre-date that
@@codykamminga9667Ford use Peugeot engine from times of Ford Fiesta mk2 from today;not was named Peugeot but was Peugeot engines;Ford not has diesel motors(ford Germany i not say English ford;ford America has own diesel probably for the transit;tdci 1.8 of first Ford Focus was of Delphi the Only Diesel engine not Peugeot)
Flexiny, Are you not scared of having a run-away? I think the old turbo diesels are risky if you start them after they sit such a long time. Are you prepaired?
Tin of easy start and crack open them injectors it would of fired quicker. great old workhorse in their day that engine. slow but reliable. Diesel filter housings used to leak air so common. shell rotted like a pear.
This is what a car should be! stop wasteful consumerism to fit the "eco" narrative that the government feeds the mindless sheep and drive and learn to fix your old cars, it will save you a lot of trouble!
@@kylgu_ Everything is fixable, but the key is to not let it get that far! The thing that kills old cars isn't programmed obsolescence like in new cars, the problem is rust!
