@@nikolakurjakovic2188 It's not surface rust. That silvery part at 2:36 is a transfer case mount. It is usually bolted to the cabin floor. On this car, it just hangs in the air because the floor has completely rusted and it fell off. You can hear the thumping sound at 9:05 when the car is moving - it's loose transfer case and driveshafts flailing around.
Fun fact. The manual states that the operating temperature for the Lada Niva is from +40 to -50 deg c. And the vehicle does NOT have a heating block to keep the engine warm. Absolute beast of a vehicle.....
As an owner i can tell that this is true but if the temperature is below -30 Celsius you have to remove the battery and carry it in the warmth at night
@Евген f.c.s.m. нет, у меня вторая машина это Альфа Ромео, которая для холодных стран вообще не предназначалась, заводится она куда лучше даже в -30, причем один раз завелась после морозной ночи с включенной магнитолой
I love this channel so much as an American. It’s very cool to see these foreign (for me) cars in general, let alone being worked on. I’ve always loved these first start videos and I love seeing first start videos on these foreign to me cars.
european engines and cars for that matter are a lot different, they are a lot smaller, but still pack a punch, anything over 2 liters is already a big engine, and over 3 you must be rich, in Romania its very rare to fill up your tank because its so expensive, I recommend you see a Dacia 1300, cool classic cars, a communist copy of the renault 12
@@thedamntrain5481 Dacia is a good car, dosen't eat trough fuel like crazy either,I am romanian so yeah, and the fuel prices are just over the top this days, like 1 liter of diesel costs 9 lei. And russian cars were absolute units in fuel consumption and big engines.
Only 59 seconds in and I already know it will start, it's a niva of course it will. I'm also hoping for some lovely pressure washing with all the moss and lichen on it!.
Back in 1989 i sat in a very plush version of the Niva (Cossack) in the motorshow in Birmingham, i was surrounded by many prestige cars yet i wanted this niva. Sadly was out of my price range and i never did get one or drive one.
The 1700 Nivas in UK had single point fuel injection (GM as on the Vauuxhall/Opal Astra) & electronic ignition with coil packs. ECM was exactly where the passenger (on the left in UK) braced his foot, so knocked the plastic cover off every time. Brilliant off road: awful on road kept mine as a field truck for years & years, always started even when the head gasket had gone so badly that water came out of the dipstick!
Very cool car! That's the most lichens I've ever seen!😄 It reminds me of the early Subarus, the ones that you could really drive off road. But this one has more ground clearance.
In Azerbaijan, nivas are bought for $ 4,000 and put on $ 10,000 to make the exterior and interior more beautiful. where the niva is sold for $ 20,000 to $ 25,000
An old Niva SPI from the late 90s, nice one wirh 228000km on it. I really love the old 1600 and SPI ones. Niva - best car in the world❤️. Edit, i see you wrote it‘s from 1994? Then it‘s one of the first SPI‘s, after the 1600.
You will be surprised but in our country half of the people do not respect the USSR, like everything that was created during the union, including the auto industry, thinking that it is better now, but this is complete nonsense. The country is dying from a corrupt government where V.V. Putin occupies the top. Others respect the USSR and understand the enormity of the present, but they don't go to do anything, either to be afraid, or as we say, my hut (house) is on the edge. As a result, I live in a country that nobody needs, even its own people. It is sad and terrible for me and if nothing is changed then she will die😔
Согласен. Раньше можно было если не ошибаюсь даже 15 лет назад купить новую за 300 тысяч, то сейчас порядка миллиона..... Один плюс, что выносливые они, а для таких и комфорт не нужен..
I really like your videos! Found your channel a while ago over the videos about the Passat and since them I watched and subscribed. Greetings from Germany.
Hello, I greet you from Barcelona, Spain. This time you have put to work with a Lada Niva, it was an SUV that had a certain success in its time here in Spain and it does not surprise me at all that you manage to put it into operation, they were really tough vehicles. How well does your cleaning team clean? You have a high-quality pressurized water jet machine. I say goodbye and enjoy it giving you little rides with the Lada as you have done with other times.
I saw the video and thought that’s not gonna be a problem to start that thing just change the battery fill it up with petrol and it will fire up in no time it’s a Lada Niva. If I could lay my paws on a Russian car it would be a Lada probably a Niva. Practical and simple.
I live in the uk... I had 2 lada's back in the day...a samara and a Riva.... But i always wanted one of these.... Its great to see there's still a few of em around
I've got a RHD UK spec one took ages to find theres a few about over here just not that many the English weather and salt isn't kind to them unless you look after it well
This good car if you don't drive this shit every day. For experience - nice , for everydaycar - bad chose. you can get backpain , ass pain , and etc. security with spare wheel on frontside of car it is suicide (in moment of crash , this wheel just shoting inside car with broken frontglass) Yes, I'm from Russia and i know this shit very good(
Woww ..whats a beauty piece of machine ...! During old day this is the vehicle used to climed the hill and moutain ...! Kuala lumpur 24.09.2021 friday 10.55 am
В хороших руках Нива будет ходить Если с умом пользовать а Не заводить как он сделал.. Нужна обслуга.. Руки приложил и 5 Лет Без проблем откатаешь даже до Москвы.. До Владика из Казахстана без проблем.. 💪💪💪👍👍👍
Do you ever check the air filters before starting the engine? It's quite common for mice to chew up the air filter and make a nest out of the paper element. And you don't want that being sucked into the engine.
