I’ve seen a lot of comments from people who don’t understand the kind of effort it takes to do a project like this... don’t feel bad about a 2 week hiatus! Take all the time you need to do the project right and have some time for yourself. The amount of progress you’ve made on this monster in such a short amount of time is INSANE! Hey Tavarish. Check your cam sensor. These can usually cause the car to turn off when hitting 2,500 RPM. I’d also hit it with a computer if you can find someone or a place that can check for codes as the ECU might be in limp mode due to the incident and or for sitting a long time. Most the time, it’s Catalytic Convertors being clogged or restricted airflow within the system (which shouldn’t be as you rebuilt it lol). Keep up the awesome build! Can’t wait for it to hit the street!

Once you replace the sensor I can guarantee you it will Rev over 2500 rpm. Awesome job man you did it now get those wheels on and hit the streets 😁😁😁

Regarding the 2500rpm limit - a comment below may have it spot on - you have to be in gear. Try that first - get in 1st or 2nd gear and see how hard you can go. If you're still stuck at 2500 or so, the next two things to check are the MAF (mass airflow sensor) or TPS (throttle position sensor). Because of the fire, I'd suspect the MAF next. Oh, and you'll need to clear the codes in the computer...

I had a 2002 Range Rover with 4.6 bmw motor with faulty MAF sensor it would not let me go over 65 mph or change to 3rd gear or pass 2500 to 3000 rpm and I only had half my bhp to find out if it is he’s maf if he disconnects the plug try revving it

Bet you are right, I am surprised that that tavarish has not seem the same thing with the sl55amg since the stock computer locks it at 2500 unless it is in gear

I've been a Floridian a bit longer than yourself. Let me tell you that you should get a garage A/C unit. Life changing. After soaking entirely through my clothes putting a full length roof rack on my truck in the garage to avoid the bug herd, I now have a garage AC unit.

Hell ya!! That is an awesome feeling when you spend hours upon hours upon hours on a project like this and you can finally hear it run!! Congrats!!! As a fellow car builder in the garage type of person, lol if I could say one tip, with that being a custom turbo setup, it is SOOO worth the extra money and some time to trailer it to a tuner and run it on a dyno to get tuned!! It's so easy to get excited and over boost it or something like that and then all your work is for not! Dyno it and all the temps and pressures and everything impertant is visible and can stop if going lean or manly over boost or boost creap. Scares me thinking about it all. Super happy for you though!! Kick ass!

Amazing dude! I'm so happy for you! However I have an idea about the engine not going over 2,500 revs. Obviously if an engine can run at low revs it can run at any revs, because that means everything is working and firing as needed so the ECU is probably what needs the work. Get a OBD scanner, or even better a full on monitoring unit, and test for any codes, it's possible the ECU wasn't tuned for the turbo's effect on emissions and they could be throwing off the oxygen sensors so much that the car thinks something is seriously wrong. I can't say for sure that is the problem, but I'm 99% sure it's electrical. Get a monitoring tool soon my man and you'll probably know the problem in no time.

when in neutral and clutch unpressed the car does not rev over 2500RPM, mine does the same (passat 2016). put it in 1st gear, keep clutch pressed and see if it still does not rev over 2500RPM? Should be a sensor or switch which signals to the ECU and BCM pressed or unpressed position of clutch. Is that working? @other commenters, before jumping at me that Lambo is not a stupid VW, please read about it...and yes, the basic components, electronics and other stuff are designed by the same people in the VW concern ;-)

VW Audi BMW Porsche Lamborghini and several other of those big euro companies had problems with this as a result of a faulty (or incorrect) crankshaft position sensor. Seen it many times at my shop I.E.; vehicle runs but dies if engine speed is accelerated, won't rev past 1200 RPM, won't stay running when cold, and many others. Check your live data and rev your engine as high as you can, if the data stream for the sensor seems or does read lower than your tachometer than that's your problem. Be aware I believe that car is equipped with a "valet" mode which limits revs and power as well.

bunsoft2 My 2006 2.0 FSI Passat had the same problem. I used VCDS to diagnose the problem. It showed High Pressure Fuel Pump (Pump regulator). I replaced the pump. The problem persisted, then I took it to the shop and after some extensive diagnostic work, they found out that, in the ECU, the wires that carried power to the HPFP were broken and the car, which is Direct Injected was only using the low Pressure Fuel Pump for fuel delivery. They fixed it and now the car revs like a mad dog.

On a serious note Tavarish.. I've been watching you wayyyy before the Lamborghini days. I believe the first video I've seen of yours was the F350 Dually ride. But i haven't subscribed because I didn't know where your channdel would go or what content are you going to put out.. After you made the Lamborghini purchase video, I was skeptical because I was one of the people that gave you the "Your car is too expensive for a car with salvage...etc) but I've been following your build series since the beginning of this process. Honestly, I applaud you man. The way you did all that in your garage, saved stupid money, did some elbow grease and how it all came together is awesome. As car guys it brings joy when a project is finished and seeing you finally finished your project is unreal. Much respect man P.S I Subscribed. Can't wait for the next video !

Starting a dry motor - My Ford GT is also dry sump. The starting procedure after an oil change is mat the throttle (which keeps the engine from starting) and crank the engine until you see full oil pressure. This takes 20-30 seconds. Then take your foot off the pedal and start normally. I have to think the Lambo (and other dry sumps) is similar. Get oil pressure at cranking speed before starting. Congrats! Your excitement came through clearly. Enjoying watching your adventure.

o2 sensor placement should be just after the turbo manifolds. Your placement is INCORRECT! unless it is a down stream o2 sensor which I would assume this particular car has them turned off.
