I was about 20 when this came out. It was mind blowing. I also recall a whole slew of games in the following years that tried to emulate it.

I was 9 in 2005. My mom wouldn't let me play it (no M-rated shit for me lmao) but I was allowed to watch my stepdad play it. I remember him being shook by how ahead of its time it felt to him. He's been gaming since the 80s and he said this was up there with Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time in terms of feeling like the future of gaming for him. I've since played through the entire series (except Ragnarok, I finally got a PS5 last year to complement my PC and I'm slowly working through the catalog of first party shit) and there really aren't any misses across the board. GoW 2, GoW 3, and GoW 2018 are especially some of the best games I've ever played. You're in for a ton of fun dude!

Regarding the voice actors. For the first handful God of War games , Kratos was played by TC Carson . I believe Christopher Judge took over on the 2018 God of War

Gow is simply one of the best games ps2 had to offer. The first one is pretty good but lacks some boss fights. Gow2 on the other hand had it all ! Not to mention gow3 that is a true masterpiece !

Once you complete all GOW games you could definitely check out Asura's Wrath if you can. The theme of both games is very similar and it's a banger

I was 23 when this came out & vividly remember it had the best graphics, gameplay & combat I'd ever experienced in a video game at the time. The whole franchise is a masterpiece & Im really looking forward to those nostalgic feelings as I live vicariously through you as you experience them for the first time also. ✌️

This game has some of the hardest puzzles and areas in the series. I love it.

Launching an enemy and then spamming ‘O’ is a way to throw normally-unthrowable enemies around.

Hell yeah, dude! God of War is my favorite video game series of all time! (Tied with Zelda) Also, good to see you caught onto, "Break everything" 'cause you absolutely want allllll those orbs! This game blew my mind when it came out. Combat was insane with all the different enemies and finishers! And I was convinced video game cutscenes couldn't get any better than these. Then GoW 3 blew my mind all over again.

Very happy that you have decided to start the saga from its origins and not watching bad and partial summaries of the story on youTube to go directly to the new games. The original trilogy has NOT aged AT ALL. They are still very accessible games. In fact, I think the new games are going to get old faster than the original trilogy. But that's my personal opinion.

Never crossed my mind you were going to play the original game. It has very good graphics if we consider it was released in 2005. Sir Gilbert now lives through Kratos. I'm very hiped with this new adventure.
