I wasn't a big fan of Jane Eyre either, or Villette. I'm keen to try Anne Brontë next. I'm in the mood for some romances this summer. I also have wuthering heights, assassins apprentice and birnam wood on my physical tbr. I dnf'd chain gang all-stars really early on as I was on holiday and it was so violent, not really a beach read! I think you'll like North Woods.

I love how much crossover we have in our book tastes 😂 I will definitely not be bringing Chain Gang to the beach! Lol I'm mostly reading it now because it's a book club pick 😊

That makes me so happy to hear! I struggled a bit in the beginning of Assassin's Apprentice, but I got along a lot better with the second half 😊

Where did you find that absolutely stunning edition of The Little Friend? I love it. Also I just moved away from my home state of CO, I miss it :( I hope you’re loving it!

I'm obsessed with that cover! It's the Bloomsbury Modern Classics edition which has a lot of gorgeous colors. I'm sorry to hear you moved away! But I hope you're loving wherever you are now 😊

I don't want to discourage you, but if you didn't like Jane Eyre, I would be very surprised if you would enjoy Wuthering Heights. There is not a single likeable character in that story and I have absolutely no clue why people say it is also a romance. One must have a very strange POV on relationships to think so imo Also I wouldn't recommend it for summer.
