For the first 8 minutes it seemed to me that the new game with a more realistic color scheme was somehow dark and lacking contrast. But then the weather in imperatur's city changed and from a cloudy day the day became sunny)
The dreary grey is the most off putting part for me. I get that some people want a really realistic city and I definitely don’t want pink octopus but I really enjoy the pops of Colour that cities 1 provides.
The King of Vanilla Builds strikes again! You are coming out of the gate strong, my friend. Forts, vineyards, ports, marinas, all things I'd love to try making in my first vanilla city but wouldn't have thought possible! Really appreciate you showing off these techniques so early!
I think your full potential is now unleashed. You were just too good for CS1. This is amazing, the realism, the way you mastered the new mechanics so fast, the way you plan every sector of the map. You have to make a tutorial of that, by the way
People are really criticizing that the game doesn't come day one with 8 years worth of post development work and mods ready to use. The performance issues are concerning, but I hope optimization will come with time. But really, it's so frustrating to see people compare the base game of CS2 with CS1 plus all the DLC and popular mods. That's an apples and oranges comparison. It'll take probably a year at least for the game to shake out and find its footing. CS1 came out against Sim City(2013) which was easy competition. CS2 is coming out while CS1 is just beginning to show its age and still has probably a good 3 years of life left in it (it was still receiving DLC less than half a year ago). The game need time to come into its own. But the foundation is there for something amaxing.
Still the undisputed champion of skylines! People were complaining about the lack of detailing available but you show them how to work with what you got!!
Incredible really. I feel all that time with you playing vanilla pays off here. One of the best examples of building "out of the box" that I have seen in cs2.
Bro the star shaped fort build is SO next level. You sir, are a genius and an artist, very inspiring, thanks for sharing and cant wait to get my hands on this game! Keep up the good work m8 cheers
I see quays continue to be as challenging as ever. I saw somebody the other day (I wish I remembered who so I could give them credit) who made it easier by drawing a road behind where he wanted to put the quay first, then following the road with the landscaping tool to give it an even edge before placing down the actual road he wanted. Looked like it made it work a lot more consistently. Love the build though, especially the star fort. Looks great!
Lots of community members: There just isn't a good way to detail. Imperatur: Hold my beer. Proceeds to build ridiculously great road networks and interchanges, excellent farms, A STAR FORT, port, national monument, and vineyards, all before 5000 pop. Sheesh. So good. One other comment - I think it's really interesting how you threw so many different types of builds in there. It's interesting to see so many different types of things at low population. Most of us don't think that way.
Some people watch the news in the AM, i watch imperatur play cities skylines. The music just relaxes me. Love your series'. Really looking forward to this
I am honestly deeply impressed by your skill creating this beautiful and creative city (without mods!!!). I am looking forward to seeing more of your videos! Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration for my own works.
I find this awesome, but not for the reason you'd think. You managed to work around the lack of so many tools, decorations, detailed without detailing etc... and still managed to come up with a decently looking town. I really hope CO will listen to the complaints and add what's on the top of our wishlists to make this game a worthy successor. The potential is definitely there.
This was really good. Finally a layout that makes so much sense from the new game. I like how you manipulate the terrain. And the city makes sense. Not too much infrastructure.
I enjoy your commentary videos where you explain what you're doing and why but the non commentary videos, I love just putting them on and chilling while you build something amazing
Damn you are a master! I couldn't imagine building like this ever. So well thought out and beautifully executed. Wow. I'm still in awe of what I just watched. Incredible build!!
OMG - that Fort !!!! I was born in Cape Town and that is exactly the shape of the old fort in Cape Town.... and the shape is also the shape of the emblem for the South African Air Force....
I wish I could have the same level of your creativity. I am so jealous, I could only build boxes design roads with a little bit of curve and that's it. Like my city has no life and boring. Unlike yours it's alive and satisfying to look at.
The Star fort build is extremely cool and has inspired me to try and attempt a Suomenlinna like sea fortress build (UNESCO world heritage sea fortress in Helsinki) when I get the game myself
I thought I was making my city look good. Then I saw this. Seriously, in terms of beauty you are easily the best player of CS1 and it looks like that will continue with CS2. Great work.
I love your style the city looks amazing ❤. I would love a follow up commentary short video explain some of the difficulties and techniques used in this video to get the fantastic results you achieved, to give us amateurs a help. But all in all, I got some great inspiration to go start my own city. I’ll be happy if I get half as good as you
you are the living proof you don't need mods to play this game and create beautiful things, the people crying about steam workshop should watch this video and learn
I’m so mad how much hate people are giving this game besides the lag (which is common on new games it needs testing and feedback that’s how they fix stuff) it’s honestly a great game and they’ve been updating and putting in the things the people want
I'm really impressed with your mastery of the terrain tools in both cs1 and cs2. Especially how you always slope the ground for highway, and masterfully create bridge sections as needed. As nice as respecting the topography seems, I feel like terraforming is just essential due to the limitations of the game. And well, using move it and network multi tool kinda ruin the attempt to respect topography.
It does feel a bit downgraded though (in terms of contents) if you have all the DLCs in CS1 and went to CS2 (I feel like CS1 has gotten so big it's become difficult even for Paradox to compete with their own game). - The blurrier textures is a turnoff (probably on-purpose either for optimization or for the art style). - The disasters especially the tornado looks way better in CS1 compared to CS2 - The lack of Steam Workshop support for CS2 is also a bummer - Drawing regions/districts has gotten more complicated than CS1, I feel like brushing is better than drawing the borders yourself - Missing prop designing feature (So much more that I forgot when writing this comment) But CS2 definitely got new QoL improvements that I like, especially the roads, and the assets are more consistent now and not a mashup of science fiction, cartoonish and realistic assets. (This is not me hating the game, but I have heavy criticisms with the game. I'm most likely getting it regardless sooner or later anyway)
I've seen a review yesterday which highlighted many aspects where CS2 is lacking. I for one hate the look of the european buildings (it doesn't feel right), or the fact there are no bikes
it will be better because CO is optimising it for console. thats why they delayed the game for console, the game was not optimised enough. once that update comes through the performance will skyrocket for pc players. i have faith in that!
@@gijskramer1702if the game is releasing THIS fucked, i doubt that it will ever have great performance. will probably run like a pig on console too even with more optimisation
Great video as always. I cant believe how bad the zoning is with this game, seems like you create a perfect grid and the squares are all over the place 😅
