No you're not crazy, with your skill and decorating sense, you are the perfect person to bring it back to life! I know it is going to turn out beautiful! I can't wait to see how you transform it! Happy Anniversary! :-)
I’ve seen my husband bring back worse. I know you will bring it back to a thing of beauty. Happy Anniversary to you and Hunny! My husband and I just celebrated 43 in August and I just don’t know where the time went. As I always say…I’m looking forward to what you will share with us in the next visit but no matter as it will be most enjoyable. Enjoy your weekend and find the treasures that you can’t live without along the way!!!:):):)
Thank you so much!! It is amazing how fast the time goes, isn't it?? So crazy! :) I am looking forward to adventuring with my hubby over the next couple of days. Hopefully we find some great things to take home with us!! :)
Rachel: that looks like a sweet little dresser. And yes you are brave. The satisfaction you will feel after you are finished restoring that dresser it will be priceless. You will be giving it new life. Most interested in seeing the progress. Carol from California
The struggle is real. Busy time of year, illnesses going around and creative slump. Good for you to pick something to work on even when not feeling it.
I admire you! There are so many people out there who are helping to save things like this from the landfill and though I can’t help (age, health, and space), I am thankful that some people are doing this. Plus, I know when you get finished with this piece, it’s going to be lovely. Thanks and try some fresh lemon on those hands-it’ll take the bleach smell away. Lol.
Thank you! This is one of the parts of my job that I really love - getting to salvage something that was headed to the trash! :) Thanks for the tip about the lemon oil!! :)
Happy Anniversary to you and your husband! Enjoy your trip. The progress on the dresser has already been quite significant. Can’t wait to see it finished. Like I said previously, you have a great eye for items to up cycle!
I’m really enjoying the step by steps in this video! It’s so important to know the hows of the preparations before running off into the fun part of painting! Would you please consider walking us through the color choosing process? Especially for selling. It’s fairly easy for a specific person or space, but it must be more complicated for selling. Thank you for your great videos!!
I definitely see what you saw in the little dresser, and she's already on the road to being a beauty! I found it so relaxing watching you scrape off all of the veneer! I know.....not so relaxing for you! 😊😊 Happy Anniversary to you both!
Happy Anniversary! The dresser looks so much better already. Looking forward to seeing your process in transforming it to glory again. Enjoy your weekend! 🤗
I love your little dresser! She is going to be beautiful when you finish her! Happy Anniversary and enjoy your weekend! Can’t wait to see your new thrift haul!
You did a wonderful start on this little gal. She is going to feel soo good when you are done. You are not crazy, man, what possibilities she has! What about Apothecary or Cake Batter. It just seems to me that she would like both of those colors. 😁 Loved your hair today! You look nice. Dang, you know, I always hunt for Salty in the videos and didn't see her today. Enjoy your Anniversary week-end. Can't wait to see the plants and whatever else you bring home. Remember Rachel, there needs to be room in the car for 2 people, lol. Happy 21st Anniversary to you and your wonderful husband.
Lol . . . we made it home with enough room for both of us (I would have hated to have to leave the hubby behind, lolol). I am excited to get back to work! Thank you so much!!
I’ve done the exact same thing with old dressers. Having to take off veneer fixing broken pieces or fixing old drawers…. been there n done that LOL. But I just know it’s going to turn out looking fabulous. Looking forward to see your next step. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟
Oh my gosh Rachel it looks so good just cleaned up I thought I could use it now but I know I can hardly wait to see what you do with it now I can see the beauty you have a good eye because I was unsure when you were looking in the old building at it but wow what a difference cleaning makes ☺️
Happy anniversary! I love how the little dresser is looking. My mind sees the dresser as a green color like apothecary. Can’t wait to see what you do with it. I subscribed ! Thought I had already subscribed as I watch all of your videos so I checked and was suprised I hadn’t.
Well thank you for subscribing! I appreciate it!! I like your thinking as far as color goes - the one I have in mind is closer to a blueish green. :) Thank you!!
I saw the reveal before this video. But it was amazing what you did with her. Thank you for sharing. I don't think you were crazy at all. You did fantastic.
I'm so glad you showed how to remove the veneer . I have an old sewing machine cabinet i want to restore , the veneer is almost gone. I can't wait to try this. Thank you, Rachel & and hubby (for letting you get it). Merry Christmas to you and all your family!! I hope Santa brings you lots more dilapidated furniture 😂
You have skills!! And a love for the aged 😂. Most would trash it. Cannot wait to see what you do. 😊 oh and would look amazing with DIY Aviary with beautiful handles and maybe Woodubend or moulds with antiquing.
Ah . . . . a love for the aged . . . lolol!! Hopefully it turns out as lovely in real life as it is in my head, haha!! And I LOVE pretty knobs and handles! :)
And happy anniversary when you said you've already mapped out the thrift shops I'm like that's my kind of girl I live in Illinois and I went to a thrift shop in San Diego it's so cool the stuff is just different the styles then the Midwest so anyway have fun
*It was so satisfying watching you remove the veneer on that old dresser, Rachel. I have no doubt that she is on the road to recovery, snatched from the jaws of death of the burn pile or landfill‼️😉 Not sure what color is best for her. Have you considered regluing veneer to her entire outside surface to return her to her former glory?*
I just hope the rest of the repairs go to plan and that I am able to make her beautiful. It is always nice to save something that was headed to the trash heap. :) I don't think I'm going to try my hand at veneer . . . I am really looking forward to painting this little dresser honestly. :)
@@theeclecticcottagespokane *I can understand why you are not ready to try your hand at veneer, Rachel. I have not done it myself, but have watched it done and I am not sure if it is fairly simple or not, based on the successes and failures I have seen. 😁 Here's wishing you well with your repairs and painting on this project so you will be delighted with your results in the end.💜⭐️💕*
Happy anniversary ❤🎉…would love to see some milk paint on that dresser..maybe curry since you know us crafters are already thinking spring..or suitcase sweet Pickens
ummm.... lol I am really looking forward to seeing her in her refinished glory! However, the whole time watching, I had to keep reminding myself that you weren't actually talking as you were vacuuming that little dresser ACK! Grossness. You need a hazmat suit girl!
