It's incredible how both TDSs started.

From 520d to 530d all BMW e39 diesel are solid like a rock. One of the best sedan ever made.

It's sad to see how most of these E39 end...mostly crashed, rusted and as parts cars. Mostly owned by people who don't give them love they deserve! It was great to hear those engines run so good.

And, what we learned about that?! Right!! Only old Diesels are good Diesels. New Cars, new Engines are just crap. I‘m a VAG Fan, i loge the 1.9tdi, but, those old BMW Diesel Engines are awesome too!. Just look, how smooth they start, after all those years. All car brands should build their old Diesel Engines again!. They are reliable, have lower consumption then the new ones, i have many 1.9tdi‘s and they have a lower consumption then any modern 2.0Diesel. Or which Diesel Engine nowdays. You can bring 1.6D, 2.0D or higher, then 1.9will beat all in consumption, and in reliablitiy. It‘s really cool to see, that you have a lot of old cars, and a lot of old Diesel Cars😉. I mean, the Gasoline Cars were also better in the days than now!. New Cars are just Crap, and it‘s a shame, that they don‘t build such engines anymore. The Quality also was better in the old days. But now we have Climat Zone and this stupid bullshit. I mean, they talk about sustainbility, but want to ban such cars, they are the best proof of sustanbility!

You could build one nice E39 from all three of those. Deep clean the interior of 525tds touring and put the interior from the 525tds touring to the touring with m57 because it the 525tds touring has the power comfort seats and the multifuction speedometer and use the best looking body parts from the 525Tds and 525tds touring for the touring with m57 engine. And you have one nice M57 touring with power comfort seats.
