@@vladimircharykov2659 ...back in late 1995/early 1996 when the E39 first came out there was only the e36 3 series and the e38 7 series and of course the ultra rare and expensive low production e31 8 series.... and then came along a good-looking modern e39 5 series which for many was the pick of the bunch !.... It was the new replacement for the 1987 e34 5 series which was starting to look a bit dated compared to the Mercedes E class and Jaguar XJ series of the same era ....of course when people started to see the e39 5 series, it became the must have car of that era and was an instant success for BMW for many years. The e39 originally started off with 3 models, the 520i (2.0 & 2.2), 528i (2.8) and the 540i (4.4 v8), then shortly afterwards in late 1996 came a 523i (2.5) and a 535i (3.5 v8) followed by an ALPINA B10 V8 (4.6 v8), in 1997 an estate was also added to the range as well as 2 diesels, a 525d (2.5) and a 530d (2.9) in 1998 came the ALPINA B10 3.2 and the mighty M5 ! with its 4.9 M POWER 400 bhp v8, quad exhausts and a sporty body kit with special sport bumpers etc ....in early 2000 came the 525i (2.5) and the 530i (3.0)....but in late 2000 for the 2001 year model came the Angel Eye head lights with clear lens indicators, and fiber optics tail lights which gave the e39 very modern looks, the E38 of that same era did not get the angel eye headlamps from BMW but there were aftermarket kits available to add the angel eye look to the E38 if one desired a more youthful look ! also in late 2000 the wide screen Alpine made 16.9 monitor head unit replaced the older Philips made 4.3 monitor head unit and the option of M5 style bumpers became available for all 2001+ cars as well as the option for the original SE style bumpers which looked great now that they were colour coded as the pre 2001 year model e39's had that awful black unpainted plastic inlay strips which often faded to a grey colour and made the car look tatty !, in early 2002 an e39 ALPINA B10 V8s (4.8 v8) was added to the range to replace the out going 4.6 v8 and the ALPINA B10 3.2 was replaced with a ALPINA B10 3.3 and in 2003 BMW added an "M 540i" which got a 290 bhp upgrade from its original 286 bhp 4.4 2003 was the end of the line for E39 sadly as the E60 5 series then replaced it in September 2003 (although the estate version of the e39 stayed in production until the spring of 2004) before the E60 estate then replaced it. The e38 was the mother of the e39 as it came out in mid 1994 replacing the older e32 7 series which was from 1986 ! and the e30 & e34 era. The e38 7 series was the first car in the world to get Sat Nav on the very same 4.3 Philips monitor head unit that was used years later in the e39 5 series.
I have a 97 E39 520i with 271K miles on engine original running like a charm use it everyday. Built like a Tank for sure. Great video Great to see her back on road again looking so good.
Не соглашусь, думаю f10/11 самый красивый. Этот на втором месте, хотя и с очень не большим отставанием. E34 как зубило, e60/61 как беременная антилопа, уродец. Новые пятёрки как дорогие копии трёшек, скучно...
now, this is what we love to watch and what we want to see - tens or hundreds of cars on your yard could be brought back to life, but I'm glad that at least this BMW was restored! LOVELY!
Смотрю видео из России. Спасибо за отличные видео, сразу ставлю лайк. Очень люблю когда ремонтируют старые автомобили. Я езжу на Volkseagen Passat Variant b3.
A lot of time, effort & money spent on an early 520i, when most people wouldn't have bothered and would have just sold that care for spares. Good to see one saved !
Респект тем парням который дают вторую жизнь этим легендам! Красава 👍 к сожалению на дорогах эти легенды все меньше и меньше. Вот оно немецкое качество, такое качество больше никто никогда не даст.
Finally a restoration present in the channel^^. Apart that, I appreciate the atmosphere of the channel with ship in need of some care :). This is coole to restore an early version of the base line, same problem than mine^^? (Mine is too blue, but not a bmw, a A80 B3 1,8S). Good continuation from eastern France ;).
i have always been a bimmer fan i have had 3 plus my 4th which is the e39 i,m 58 years old so i,ve had the 70,s 80,s 90,s and now a 2001 i never knew you can fall in love with a car even though its 20 y o i luvvvvvvv this car by the way it,s the same blue just like the vid
Brilliant work here, every e39 must be saved, most beautiful car they ever did 👍 My only gripe would be you could have made a couple of 45 minute videos here like m539 restorations does. The quality of your work is superb I think there would be a lot of interest in this and don't forget more views = more $$ 😉😉
This is great, the e39 is probably the last great true BMW, far better than the e60, I have a 2 year old G31 M Sport as my current daily driver but I'm also luckily enough to own a 2001 e39 530i, a 2004 e60 525i and an e92 320i. My e39 I've had it over 5 years and love it, purrs like a pussycat even at 140K Miles...its just the best...😊
