That's a wastegate, FYI.

Let me get this straight. You bought a 6262, that usually hits peak boost around 5000-5200 rpms dependent upon setup (a/r), and you didn't even buy cams profiled for your turbo? Makes no sense when you're going to be shifting at 7k on stock cams. These turbos breath best at high rpms. You won't be using this turbo to its potential...On top of that. Good luck making that power on stock trans and transfer case.

Evan that turbo kit looks superb I hope it fits together with no problems, I also think that the Evo turbo should work on the Lexus giving you less smoke inhalation problems, I also think Victoria doing her rain dance was good.

That turbo manifold is a work of art, definitely worth the wait. It's gunna look sooo gooood, can't wait for the install. That heat shield will possibly be a barrier to protect the master cylinders, and brake booster n stuff from the turbo manifold.

The vband on the dowpipe is the wrong size Evan. The hot side on Turbo is larger. You will need to weld a larger vband flange on downpipe. Looks like they sent you a 2.75" flange and not 3"

Yikers. That motors gonna blow and destroy that turbo. No offence but it's gonna be hard to watch this series as car guy. Please for the love of god just build a motor first, it's really not that hard. I know you don't care about this motor but it's just disrespectful to blow up a motor on purpose. Especially in front of an audience who might not be as fortunate as you to just buy and evo x and then just blow up the motor because you feel like it. Not trying to hate man just sharing my point of view so you can see where we are coming from.

It will be cheaper and better to build it right first, from the start, instead of blowing it up. You could do a ton of damage to the engine. Could destroy the block, the head, etc.. why not just wait, and do it right?

That's a wastegate, and that long dump tube won't be to loud as compared to a shorter pipe when the wastegate opens...

If anyone is curious to see what that setup sounds like, I was one of the first few to have that turbo kit installed on a evo x and tuned. I had a 38mm external gate and a pte5858 dbb on 30psi and it made 520whp on 93oct.

2:28 That's a waste gate, not a BOV. A waste is on the exhaust side of the turbo while a BOV is on the intake side.
