The Via Degli Dei ("Path of the Gods") is one of the best known hiking routes in Italy. Starting in the gorgeous city of Bologna, the capital of Emilia-Romagna and ending in renaissance Florence, capital city of Tuscany, the path winds its way through 130kms of glorious Italian mountain scenery.
On this first day, (after a very early start!), we follow the trail from Bologna to Badola, a small village about 25kms from the centre of the city. The sun shines, the weather gods are kind, but the gods of mud are out for vengeance... Hiking in Italy is always fun!
