There are a TON of quality of life improvements your not using. Storages stack, SHIFT drag for placing smelters, wind turbines, etc at the minimum allowable distances, copy a machine for recipe sorter copy over, also storage container sizes (use that shift for placing), raise your belts (available from the start) .... might want to revisit short cut quality features, maybe not make assumptions. For mall you could've moved the 2nd level circuits run 1 position away, keep staggering and going up levels for additional.

So if you didn't know you can put a splitter down and then put a box on top of it and it will fill up the box through the belt so you don't have to use sorters. No idea when they did that update but its huge.

One of the splitter variants (press tab to swap them) is two story and lines go in/out on the same directions. You can run you materials across the second level on these and have as many lines as you want next to each other. Then to get materials out, you just connect to the ground level one and run it to your machines. Space the splitters so they are at each machine. I found this out after I made a mess trying to make my starter factories.

you can stack storge Z1 and it will fill up automatically you know :P

9:40 You can run belts over each other and it will do a small hill. That will be faster than using the sorters to bridge the gap in belts. The little jumps happen automatically as your laying them down. Or you can control belt height with the arrow keys.

Best way I see at doing your protection with guns is have cannons on the corners of area and have belts with just ammo running from gun to gun in a continued conveyor so it's always fed with ammo and make more ammo in the storage box more ammo isn't going to hurt

I've created an enormous space force with thousands of drones as reserve, boosted their damage, weapon systems and defense systems like crazy, including the mechs energy storage and recovery, and now I can take every hive down in like 1-2min, I'm planning to completely destroy the dark force, I should be done in a few hours, and I'm having a great time lol

im pretty sure you can also stack storrage crates on top of each other. could be wrong but if you want more storrage of 1 item might be helpful

This mall is hugely inefficient. Using conveyor arms from one belt to another slows production way down. The arms can reach 3 belts wide. You should run 3 belts of inputs on one side and 2 on the other. The third output on that side should be storage.

Building a big off set storage unit would not be remiss.... Funnel all extra overflow so it speeds things up, while setting yourself a stockpile for emergencies or other projects
