Sean is a real man, kept his ego aside in order to learn from someone that's better than him. Lots of us can't do that. Mad respect Sean Strickland 💯👊🏾
it’s a rare trait to have but a fuckin useful one. the minute you think you’re too good for something is the minute you become the fool in the situation
kept his ego in order? That mf had $0.00 balance on his ego account. Like what was he gonna do.. act like he never got knocked out and show Alex a thing or two? lol
He was still doing the exact same thing brother 😂😂 right hand twitching all over the place like the meme adesanya made about him, he's lucky they had the big gloves on and weren't being paid to actually fight
Alex seems like a great sparing partner , he goes according to your pace and doesn't beat the crap anybody unless they wanna try prove a point , he seems like a reasonable sparring partner.
Alex definitely is not a great sparring partner in that sense, at least he wasn't while fighting in Glory / just stopped at Glory. I've seen numerous video's were he beats the fuck out of his sparring partners.
Super well. He got caught by a left hook from Alex, trained with him and later perfectly countered Adesanya’s left hook to knock him down. Nice display of humility and willingness to learn and improve on Sean’s part.
even if Sean learns everything Alex has to offer I still don't see him beating Alex, unless it's like a 40 year old post prime Pereira(unrelated to OP)
Damn, you look back at this and realize there is a lot more going on than Sean just trash taslking. He went to the arch-nemesis of Izzy (who also knocked Sean out) to get better and figure out how to beat Izzy, and look how it paid off.
@@GooGooGadgetsim, boa sacada.
@@jimmydesind6316 Alex guilty of Sean's career.. He saw Sean in back to back loses and thought I should help this guy get his mojo back. Now he is a superstar and a champ
Props to Strickland. Training with someone who knocked you out is a tough thing to do but the journey is all up hill from here. Thank you for the content Alex. BTW tell Glover to smile once in a while lol love it.
Man, it used to be kinda common because there wasn't as much social media influence. If a camp had really good fighters from different skill sets you could get a guy to come train. That was 12 years ago though and Alex is a beast
He really needs to stop with the Philly Shell. It is based on opponents not being able to hold and hit or kick your leg or go for a takedown, at the bare minimum he needs to make like Poirier and be much more dynamic with it.
@@utkarsh2746 He definitely looked more dynamic with this footage, I think part of why he does it is because he is so confident in his ground game and rightfully so we haven't seen Sean get wrestle-fucked since he fought Kamaru at Welterweight
@@utkarsh2746 He keeps his hands very active which is generally good but also leaves him open to counters like we saw, he likes to parry stuff like jabs (like he said he was afraid of the jab) and now that he knows Alex has great counters he seems to be acknowledging that more in this footage at least
@I'll be damned if I ain't handsome that's why he only deserves respect and i see a good mutual respect and friendship coming. He knows by training with such a a striker he can also improve as fuel his fire
Poatan é uma exemplo para os outros lutadores, rivalidade só no octógono. Além disso Sean Strickland sempre respeitou o Alex, é muito bom ver ambos treinando juntos.
he learned from poatan and beat adesanya and now he is the new champion. learned from the guy who knocked him out and his rival . congrats to the new champ
Sean usually goes hard on his training partners, so you know he went lighter on Alex since he had a little more.. respect for him shall we say. Still very cool of him to be down to train together after what happened.
Sean still speaks highly of him even just right after that brutal KO. Lookin back at it, sean might have been always a fan of poatan seeing how he speak of him even before their fight
That’s why UFC made Alex rematch izzy so fast. They knew he wouldn’t be able to recover from his weight cut. They like izzy being a champ and middle weight and Alex at light heavy weight. Why not make two stars instead of just one?
@@stackpapereveryday5682 Wtf are you talking about? He had 5 months to recover from the first fight. Cut the bs excuses. If he had beaten Izzy you wouldn't be talking about weight cuts. Secondly, if the weight cut is too difficult, that could be indicative of the fact that he's a LHW/HW forcing himself to make MW to fight smaller opponents.
Alex is not only a legendary fighter he’s also a businessman. Knowing Strickland and hearing the comment “you can still knock me out but at least half my paycheck won’t be gone this time” it’s pretty obvious that he’s paying Sean to come out and be a sparring partner in Connecticut. It’s brilliant because it’s not only great content for his RU-vid channel (seeing him spar a guy he absolutely wrecked) but it also increases his popularity because Strickland is well known as well.
Sean looks really focused and spoke of cutting weight. I want to see Sean really do something great, as I see a lot of potential in him and a ton of strength 👍. Alex looks awesome right now: Strong; Great posture / form and following succession of hits in combination rapidly, really great stuff all around! 👍
The fact you see potential in Sean means you dont know wtf you are looking at. WHAT HAVE YOU SEEN IN HIS LAST FIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE FIGHTS THAT SAYS EHS ANY GOOD LET ALONE CAN STAND WITH IZZY? Dude is boring the only reason people talk about him is his mouth, His fights suck. boring. One two punches up the middle with much else in terms of MMA. BOOOOOOOOOOOO you weird.
Big hello from Sydney Australia Alex! I'm a huge fan, you are my favourite fighter, I unfortunately used to be an alcoholic and was going the wrong way in life, boxing and weight training has saved me so I followed your journey and grew inspiration from it! I also got into archery! Haha. Because I went to prison I'm not aloud to have hunting rifles anymore so thankyou for getting me into the art of archery. I can't wait to see you succeed and lead others on a good path. Hope to see you fight in Australia one day!!!
As an indigenous Brazilian I am very happy to know that a Brazilian is inspiring people from other countries, I hope you can overcome everything bad that is happening in your life, I know you can
the way Alex lost is different to me because he lost because he got over-confident, not because he wasn't finding a way to win, and I'm not saying this to take away credit from Izzy, not at all, but I think it's different than losing by getting outclassed, just like how Izzy losing 3 times still didn't mean he was levels bellow Alex because all 3 fights were competitive, I think stuff like this matters in determining how good a fighter is, Alex's biggest problem is Grappling(unless getting finished like that changes him because of coming back too soon)
He was carving IA up like a turkey. That's what makes the KO so irritating. The grappling is only a problem if he's losing points. If his opponent is using grappling to wind the clock down, rest or to just get off their feet and give their body or head a break, but not able to sub, or even trying, it just becomes a points issue and Alex running out of time to either win by points himself or get a finish. The tall, lean guys can be really hard to grapple... Alex just has to know what someone attempting a sub needs to achieve it and prevent it, and how to get on his feet. He's pretty good at that. But he's always up for dishing out the ground and pound whenever he can, always goes for high output. And grappling without the sub is dangerous. It exhausts them.
One of the few that said it could be done, before it was done. Alex Pikachu Pereira, Sean Strickland, Robert Whiticker, and Nina were the only ones. You are all super awesome :D
