In the Balkans VW Golf MK2 is King in our roads: Cheap parts Easy to Maintain Cheap to tax on the road My family has the same golf white 2 door it's from 1983 and it's a 1.6 diesel Greetings from Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦
@@diegt4716 There's a lot of Passat B5 and B5.5 cars on the road at least in Bulgaria. One day I'm driving my 1997 Passat B5 sedan behind another Passat B5 Variant, behind me was a Golf and behind it a third Passat B5.5... That's just one example, there's plenty more.
I saved a mk2 from the breakers, it looked just the same but 1.6, I learnt a lot including how to weld. Very chuffed with what I achieved and it’ll stay on the road for years to come.
@@wladizlowe
I have never seen such an engine issue. Almost seems like a cracked head. Most probably a head gasket. The rest of the car is in very nice condition. You guys can bring any vehicle back to life!
My 2nd car I owned a 1.3 rider in metallic green 1990 year solid motor even after 13 years bodywork solid no rust only a few bubbles on rear valance 😊.
That engine seems very healthy! After sitting in the "bushes" for so long, I am really amazed my that it did not smoke at all, and it sounds very good!
It amazes me how many cars are abandoned in Estonia and waiting under the trees or on the grass 😅. I am wondering if you will make some good old barn findings…
Awwww...a VW Golf 2!! This was my first car, it was dark blue and it was the same type, as the Golf in the Video. I loved it very much ❤❤ Will you restore it?
Engine probably froze solid over long Estonian winters and cracked the block or head, either way, the engine is done for. Smokes worse than Uncle Buck's car lol. Bodywork good though so might be saveable with a different engine put in it. Very late model Golf 2 I think they started in 1983 and ran till 1991 so thats one of the very last ones before the Golf 3 came out.
I'd guess the gauge cluster and warning lights malfunctioned before it blew up. The electronics on VW's has always been hit-or-miss, so if they quit, the driver had no indication something was wrong. Then, it was overheated and popped the head, possibly cracked the block. Too bad. I always loved this era Golf/Jetta/Cabriolet. I loved the '90 Cabrio I had back in the day.
Volkswagen golf sitting four years stick shift best German vehicles in the world full detail battery air tires awesome video friend best mechanic all vehicles japanese American imports
The exact same car is also abandoned near my area. But it may be to far gone. A hoarder once owned the car and has been sitting in the elements for propably over 10 years.
Thank you Flexiny for another wonderful work!!!!! Is any Kadett D or E still alive in Estonia, so you could make another super video with legendary vehicle?
