After playing so much heavily modded rimworld its kinda nice to see such a blank slate. No tanks or warcasket-ed androids marching around, just the pure essence of rimworld, naked men beating eachother to death in the desert.
Ah yes, the very core of the Rimworld experience - where diplomacy is just two naked dudes rag-dolling each other in the middle of the desert. Who knows, maybe Less will end up in a tank by the end 🤣 . Thanks for the support and the laugh, my friend!
Honestly I like these videos a lo! They sort of come back to the reason rimworld was made, as it calls itself a STORY generator. I make up little stories about my pawns too, I have a large hypertech town of 30 or so now so I like the idea that they'd be shocked and appalled by the harsh desert living.
Hey man, I recently saw the other two videos and your post on Reddit and just want to say you're doing great, I checked your previous RW videos from over a year ago and can see quite an improvement in reguards to narration, computer efficiency and gameplay. I can't wait for more content to come!
Hey there. Thanks for taking the time to go through the old catalogue! I really appreciate the feedback as well. I wish I had more hours in the day to spend on the videos (and a better editing software, haha). I'm excited to continue growing the channel with you all. There's many more videos to come!!
you my good sir, have just earned yourself a new subscriber! sometimes i forget rimworld isnt technically a "game", its labeled as a "story generator" and i have been wanting to find someone who took that idea to heart and spun a tale as good as you have. i wont lie, i did physically recoil and clutch my leg as you narrated Less breaking the Raider's, and thats how you know that an author is good! i cant wait to see how Less grows, along with his little 'oasis'
I really appreciate the support, friend! I love telling stories in Rimworld. I even used to practice D&D campaign ideas in it. Thank you for such high praise, I'm glad that you're able to immerse yourself that much into it. I can't wait for you to see episode 2 in a few days!
I really love how great and detailed your stories are. I'm happy to know your channel is receiving the attention it deserves. Can't wait for episode 2.
Randomly came across this and I enjoyed it you have some talent for narration and writing for sure don't ever let anyone bring you down keep shining brother
Oh, It's you again! I was wondering why the video felt familiar somehow. Looking forward to this series. Already subscribed too. Btw if you ever decide on branching out into more games with survival aspects, there's this game called vintagestory that on surface level looks kind of like minecraft but it plays completely different, it's also slow paced which kind of fits what you're already doing in your videos. Not sure if it makes for really good content tho because again it is slow paced. But every milestone feels like a huge achievement. Also you were SO lucky not having been killed by a random blast shot lol. 😂
Hey there! Thanks you for the support. That sounds really interesting, I'd be down to try it. I'm definitely going to be playing other games too. I'm stuck on an old macbook for now so my category is pretty limited. Once I can actually get a PC though, I'm going to be doing a lot more. Lmao, I know! Fulla almost hit me a few times! Less gets very lucky next episode too, even I was in disbelief.
@@loreharbor eeesh, macbook. Yeah, good idea in that case. I'm not sure but I think vintagestory is a lil bit lighter on the system than minecraft is but that might just be because the game isn't yet finished and it's rather "empty" atm (compared to minecraft I mean, there's still enough content to keep you busy for days). But there's plenty of mods to remedy that. But yeah good luck with the pc building.
Thanks I appreciate it! I can't wait to get more of the story to you all. The full thing would've been well over an hour. So you know that a supercut movie is coming eventually 😅
You inspired me to do this challenge. I have died twice. LOL I didn't make it past day seven. I absolutely love your narrating! You have quite the skill! Keep up the great work and I hope you have lots of fun along the way!
Hey there! That's awesome, I love hearing that. Keep at it, you'll get past day 7 in no time! This challenge is tough in the first week. Also, thank you, it means a lot! Will do, I'm having a blast. Can't wait for you to see the videos and stories I have planned for the channel!
love the narration so fucking much, the little details and characterization is so good. even the random useless passerby that you cheese into hunting an animal gets lines of dialogue, immaculate.
Thank you, friend! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I love how the game includes so many little details. It really helps make Rimworld feel that much more immersive
God this video is so good 😭I can’t stop being amazed at the storytelling and as a roleplayer and kinda book writer, and dating a book writer that’s pretty rare lol
I love Rimworld but I never thought to play with a story in mind. I usually reserve that for the Sims, but even then I don't think as deep as this. Wonderful storytelling.
It truly means a lot, thank you! Oh, a fellow Sims fan?!? I have something special in the works for that as well. There should be a Sims video coming out in the next few weeks 😉
I mostly lost Interest in Rimworld for a couple of years, but watching your stuff recently sparked that interest again, looking forward to the other parts to come (and maybe a supercut when all indivudual parts are made?)
Wow, that really means a lot. I'm so glad that you're getting into it again! Episode 2 will be here in a few days. The full series will likely be over an hour long, so a supercut movie is certainly going to happen 😁
I've done quite a dozen tribal naked brutality in extreme desert starts, though ironically most of my early attempts failed due to disease or infection rather than heatstroke, starvation or raids.
I love that one too. I really wish they would remake those movies, but make it a bit more mature for us fans who are grown up now. Like deeper storylines, a bit more action, stuff like that. It would be amazing.
I'm glad you noticed! I try to add little things into every video. There's even a brief appearance of Less' doppleganger in the video at one part. Those with a keen eye might spot them 😉
@@loreharbor I agree I basically only start Alone and naked (just with some added quirks for flavour). I was just saying I haven't dared myself to start as a tribal with the tribal start using the VE Tribals mod - you know that one, where you don't even know how to make fire from the start. ;)
I do something similar and it's quite fun. Start with a tribal naked brutality solo run on tundra as an age 10 Jogger/Wimp. All skills 0 but up to 8 passion pips total.
Oh, that town was actually one I made from scratch just using Dev mode. I recorded myself making most of the town. I'm probably going to upload those map-making videos at some point, though it may be on a different channel or something like that.
@@THEPURRINGMACHINE Oh good point, I need to add my mods to the description! And you're right, that light pole is from Vanilla Expanded. Here's my modlist: Core All DLC Harmony HugsLib Vanilla Expanded Framework EdB Prepare Carefully Biomes! Islands Camera + Level Up! Giddy-Up 2 Forked Alpha Memes SYR Processor Framework Geological Landforms Map Designer More Planning Fahrenheit and Celsius Terraform Rimworld Show Me Your Hands Vanilla Furniture Expanded (pretty much all of them) Vanilla Plants Expanded (pretty much all of them) Vanilla Factions Expanded (pretty much all of them) Vanilla Expanded Mods (pretty much all of them)
I usually just do a Naked Brutality run. However, if you still want starting supplies. Go into Scenario Editor (on the same screen you choose your starting scenario) and edit how you'd like to start. You can customize pretty much everything about your start. It's a lot of fun to play around with!
Yes! Les is a real one! I love watching his Director's Commentaries on RU-vid. His Lost at Sea episode is one of the main inspirations behind my raft video.
I appreciate the feedback. As the late-great Prince one said, "Different strokes for different folks." I'll be experimenting with different styles and video lengths as the channel moves forward, so hopefully you'll check out some of the future content too.
