I think you have the vertical tail stabilizer on backwards. Rudder facing forward.

Appropriate choice of music. Helps calm the nerves. That part sticking out of the wing is called the pitot tube and is used to feed air speed information to the air speed indicator. In modern aircraft it feeds much more information into the flight computer. You sound like me when building a kit. We notice every little flaw, but when someone else looks at it, they just see a well built model as long as I don't point anything out, which I had to learn to avoid. The Corsair is not exactly the easiest of the Metal Earth models to do! The cockpit was difficult as far as trying to get those three small tabs to fit into their appropriate slots on the fuselage, and the tail section kept on creasing in all the wrong places. My first attempt of this model was so frustrating that I literally tore the thing into numerous small, mutilated pieces with my two needle nose pliers! My second attempt, just recently started, is promising to be victimized by the same fate! Suffice it to say, I didn't enjoy this kit; its look is impressive, but the design suffers from too many detailed flaws! The damn things are supposed to be models, after all...not excursions into insanity!

At 15 :39 is when my canopy broke. I didn't even get a good start but, I have plenty of spare parts for the next one!!!!

Cool builds! I have a tip for some of the tabs that are difficult to bend over all the way. I took the tip out of a Dremel engraver and installed it back in the tool with the base out, presenting a flat surface on the tip. It can push the tabs that are hard to bend when you turn the tool on and apply pressure to the tab with the flat surface of the Dremel tool tip. You still have to support the model but the tabs will bend very flat in a few seconds.

If you look at the 3d model on the website, the cockpit is deformed, along with the body. The tail section on the body does go over the front part.

I built quite a few and this was by far the hardest. The fuselage has to be bent perfectly octagonal. Plus how the hell do you even get inside to fasten the wings without reopening it. Had to throw mibe in the trash :(

I just got a F4U Corsair model from my Grandpa. He only gave me a normal set of needle nose pliers. Way bigger than what is needed. What tools would I need to actually build it?
