With over 260 unique 3D metal models built over the past 6 years, I may have become obsessed. I do like to share my experience to help others in their builds. You did just fine on this kit. Got one myself and am going to paint it black with red trimming as directions advise. Hope it doesn’t obliterate details. Best for me to learn from a humble man than from a stuck up one. I build WWII 1/35 scale German armor but thought this metal earth kit would be a refreshing change. I just recently bought this kit from the Melbourne Tram Museum but have never done a Metal Earth kit before so had no idea how to approach it, this video is really helpful!
This is a totally useless video, if you hope to see a step by step visual construction of Kylo Ren's Shuttle. You don't believe me? Watch it! It is overly edited, cutting every 2 or 3 seconds, with a background of music you don't care for... Sometimes, 5 to 10 seconds comments awake you!
Off topic question can you wash the models off in water when dusty or need cleaning or soll they rust. I used my hose sprayer on my sink and sprayed one dmoff thsst i dont care abkut a whole lot to see cause i have quite a few not in a display case and its been 24 hours no rust. And the water made it look brand new and shiny after it dried lile i just built it and it built it 4 years ago and hasnt been dusted or washed pff since i built which is never. Im wondering if its just this kits metal is t rusting or are they all rust resistant thanks, and maybe rusting a few woulf be a cool detail for lile buildings to make it look old and abandoned like the light house or white house one and even the harry potter hoises and castle ones
Ive just started with this hobby of assembling metal Earth models and ive just gotten my first two metal earth models one a tiger tank and the other a p51, i want to start on the P-51 model but I don't have the proper tools to build it where could I find tools that I could use to assemble these models?

Thank you brad for all thr amazing videos you help me so much im not the greatest at these and you give tips about the builfs and whst you would have done differently on some builds as you go along the build like if i was to do it over again i would install this part first then go bsck and install the next pieces in order like you did on the for model a one which helped me cause i would have messed up big time if it was held together with two tabs only the two sides like instructions say i stead of putting center piece in first that has four rabs and hold pieces togtbetter less flimsy, thats just kne oit of theany lf hundreds of tother tips you give i have used from your videos. You should make a up to date video kf all the metal models you have built and show them all i bet it looks amazing
Thabks gor all your videos helps me so much im having less broken parts i just built this ine and its the first one lut kf the 5 metal earth models i have built where i did t hsve at the least one part break on me or get bent crooked cause its so small my bug sausage fingers destroyed it. Thabk you. I still proudly display my models even though they are not perfect or missing a super small part here or there cause they still look really cool and neat and i spent hours buolding them i guess the more i do the better i will get at making these models. I store them in a shoebox right now until i get enough built to justify buying a dust proof display cabinet for them cause 5 little models wont look right in a huge display case bu them self so when i get a good bit built and saved up then ill make a massive display ot my other idea is using smaller display cases that are ment ti hold like one 1/24 scale model car or maybe bigger like something like that and then put metal earth models of each subject matter all together in one small display case. Like one case has all aircraft another has all nasa and space models, and another has say tanks and military vehicles and have display cases set up like that instead of a big tall stand up display cabinet
I just found these metal models that I had no idea existed. I was telling a friend about them because his son had built a lot of Lego models. Low and behold he walked away and when he returned he produced a metal Earth 3D R2-D2 model never opened when he handed it to me and said it's yours I couldn't wait to get started. Having never built a metal model before. I ran into a few issues, but I must say that completed model to me was very impressive.
Im half way through with this one the body pannel sides look kinda wonky not terrible but not great i twosted all the tabs and didnt bend them kver cause i forgot it said bend instead of twist and i just twisted them all with lut thinking but it looks ok if i had to fo it over i would have formed the body pannels sides around the pieces thatt go between before putting them all in so that way i know the body has the right curves and creases in it for it to look straight and even. The tricky part is getting the sides of it to look right once done. This is a good second model for someone

Im glad this kit has a bunch of bigger pieces and not a bunch kf small lieces but yes its a little thin and very delicate in some areas bend very slow guys and careful pwrr you bend the stronger the parts are cause it doesn't creat any kind of heat at all and also you can take some jb weld and reinforc the larts on the inside that cant be seen so nothing breaks
Omg how I keep messing up the neck. I struggle so much with curved parts like this. It looks nothing like yours 🤦♀️ I can do builds like car easily and house like structures but the second I try to do an animal it goes to shit

I worked for months on and off for 2yrs. Today I trashed it after many times of why can’t this side piece stay on to the front. I discovered a signal tab was in the wrong slot. After much to do and cussing and small pieces continually falling off and replacing them maybe four times over. Only had the roof to attach but didn’t make it as front left weakened up and basically bent. NEVER a again. I did the Silver UP BIG BOY a decade ago with much less problems. Sorry just have to vent!
took me about 8 hours to do this model. Love your videos and reviews. Did not really have to follow the video to do this model. Could be really challenging for someone who hasn't done many metal earth models. Think I have done almost 50 or more so wasn't a difficult build for me just long.
I've had this particular Harbor Freight model of magnifying light for over a decade. I only use it occasionally for removing splinters from my hands and arms or craft/sewing projects. So about every year or 2 I get it out and fight with it to try to figure out how to twist the head to the proper orientation. I've even marked the swivel end to open but still couldn't get it to turn. I was afraid I would break it if I got too rough with it. This is the first time I've gotten on RU-vid to see if I could find an easier way to get the magnifying light head parallel to the table. Got to the 5 minute +/- mark and you, a younger and stronger person had problems with it being stiff, so it gave me the confidence to use more force. And, by golly, it worked! Thank you! Subscribed!
This video could have been taken at my office: identical cabinets, filled with a similar crowd of metal models, neatly sorted, steel and brass. I have finished 260+ as of today.. This 1:87 Mogul train kit is about the most difficult I have seen so far. By size, by complexity, by the number and dimension of parts, the delicate construction. Based on my spreadsheet it is one of few "10/10" quality models I ever built; in that league I only recorded the Keystore movie projector, the Duesenberg and Packard cars, the New Schwanstein castle, Notre Dame and the Fokker DR1 threedecker! The worst model ever touched was the Eiffel tower, a "1/10".. The instructions are a bit vague, like you I struggled with some design weaknesses around the wheel tires, the loose chimney, the badly explained tender top. Overall this thing cost me endless hours of fiddling, and some super glue to ensure more stability. Few people will believe that such a detailed thingie can be assembled by hand, with no loupe, and with just THREE tools: a pincer for cutting, a pair of pliars for bending/twisting and a pocket knife blade for folding. I have ultrabad eyesight (-10dpt), so my eyes work like a microscope, my focal point is just four inches. The perfect view for such craziness, turning a handicap into a virue. Minimalism meets microscopy, a tiny world of wonders. All my model kits (no exception) are from AliExpress and Temu. This train with its four precisely painted metal sheets cost a measly $5.60, an incredible value for the money. All my 260 models cost just $800, and almost 9 years of my lifetime, putting them together 8-) Some are highly decorative, like the mosques and churches, the tiny tanks, the steam locomotives, the trucks.. indeed an entire "Metal Earth" on a shelf. Assembling these tiny metal models is the closest to watch making; it needs the same patience, concentration, steady hands and very good microscopic eyesight. It keeps from brooding, from negative thinking, it sucks up your senses, helps to filter out all the madness around us these days. So glad that I discoverd this rather unpopular pastime by chance many years ago. Better than Lego or plastic model stuff, with far more attractive results. Thanks for showing! Based on sale reviews few buyers ever mastered this Mogul steam locomotive; many failed and trashed it out of frustration, a shame..

22:16 was not working for me it broke on two so with a broken foot and now that into three the model in the trash metal needs to be thicker since your having to bend some
We couldn’t keep the wings in place and the feet broke. It’s difficult and cumbersome. So now we have a dragon with no finished legs. It’s a delicate model. Wings will not stay in
