naw duel links because I've played that longer lol. I just bought a branded structure deck. 45$ .... still not sure if I wasted money or not , even if it's fun. I met with 2 people who were helping me just learn the plays I needed to do. even they were having hard time countering some of my effects and traps/spells but they were always soooooop excited when it was there turn to draw a card. and they went on and on about how expensive their cards were and they also had some very insane effects. however my 45$ 3x structure deck still seemed to be able to counter and attack in almost every instance. it was just the lack of combo and skill knowledge on my end to properly set up anything worth doing damage.
FR. The secondary market went full clown mode. Why did cards just 10x in price in just 6 months?! I tried, but I don't think I can do this lol. I don't remember it being this bad.
@@OfficialTomCruise123 Because I watched the skit without any degenerate thoughts and had come to the comments to see that people need to control themselves.
I used to collect cards back when I was 10. Now I'm in my mid 20's, with a card collection that is still present but no longer in pristine condition so I can't sell sh1t. But who cares? The memories in them are enough for me. 😁
My cards are actually in great condition, I only have 2 cards that are worth anything though (A Dark Magician worth around $15 and a 1st edition Gate Guardian worth around $20-$80) i have around 200 cards I've collected since I was a child up to the beginning of GX era.. But I wouldn't sell them. They're memories. They're sentimental to me.
all of my old cards that survived my childhood (not many) are all somewhat damaged. even if it's just curved from heat. I tried to care for them but life happens. my new ones I tend to keep in better condition tho. especially if I find out it's worth 5 or more bucks
when i was 6, my uncle gave me his collection, to make me a duelist i guess, from a young age. 10 days later, i had cut his original LOB Blue eyes's corners, and my uncle was laughing at me. 6 years later, when my uncle reminded me of what i did and started laughing hard, i decided that i will start playing yugioh to cleanse my past misdeeds. Now, at 15, im doing relatively good at ygo, and thinking about regionals and tournaments
5. Lose to tear without understanding what happened the entire time 6. Change decks to tear so you won't lose again 7. realize this shit is hard and you are vastly underprepared for this 8. play GOAT 9. Lose to empty jar 10. play Edison 11. Realize this shit is hard but comprehensible 12. Get good at Edison 13. Try tear again 14. Edison did not help 15. spend months learning tear 16. Kitkalos gets banned 17. Spend months learning the new version of tear 18. Lose to Kashtira 19. Scream
To get better, 1. Read Cards 2. Learn about time activation such as "If" and "When" semicolons, and costs activation 3. Learn what hand traps are and means. 4. Learn which cards to stop on each deck, ex- branded is their fusion spell card, red dragons are their red rising, synchro turbo are their junk synchro that summons tuners, and sky strikers are just imperming their shizuku if they go first... and many more... 5. Find your playstyle, going 1st with 12x+ hand traps or going 2nd with kaijus, lavas, and evening the match after you get rid of their dark ruler.... 6. LEARN YOUR OWN DECK COMBOS AND FIND EXTENDERS, so you can play around opponenents' hand traps. 7. Practice and repeat. 8. After losing enough times and learning, you will become a better player, just dont quit midgame and grief others cuz you wanna be a complainer about rng when you are the one who built the deck and side decks 😂
I play sacred beast and I love it, I actually have played some of the top meta decks in 2022 and early 2023 (not tearlaments) and have won most of them, so this short is very accurate 😊
@@Citizen_Nappa23 I'm well aware, but it usually boils down to "my numbers are bigger and my bashes are harder". I played a dragon link blue eyes variant that could consistently put out a three negate Apollousa, Borreload, Harbinger and Dragoon (cuz Verte was legal). Now I play Branded and I'm honestly missing my blue eyes deck because the consistency and ceiling seemed so much better than my top tier meta deck. It's weird
I love Blue eyes but am struggling hard af against pretty much any deck that has alot of negate effect monsters. Im still trying to figure out how to counter the negates so I can get my Blues on the field
Lmao im sitting in mid gold like "am i having the same problems back when i knew absolutly nothing" the "yeah i think im gonna quit hitting hard" need some red eyes support
I agree with every point you make especially having fun with the deaths that you want to play with.. go to locals you'll lose a handful of times but once you figure out how your works against the best decks.. You will slowly grind results.. Fire video cheers..
Let me demonstrate how you start playing Yu-Gi-Oh in 2023. "Hey dude, I wanna start playing yugioh, any tips on what to buy first?" "If you want to be at least decent, order x3 Albaz Strike and 3x 2022 tins, then buy x3 ash, x3 contact "c", at least one copy of the ghost monsters, other handtraps, nibiru x3, and maybe 10-20 packs of dawn of majesty (DAMA) to get a couple of Despia cards." "I have no idea what you just said." "You better get to it then."
@@HeadtoHeadBattles personally I ended up going for a mostly odd eyes, preformapal, and magician style, but originally started back up with blue eyes.
This is exactly what I did in 2022! Never looked back! I'm currently playing bystial chaos red dragon archfiend and the support coming for bystials is massive for the deck!

@@ajx2956 honestly if you know the basics all you need to know then is just the extra deck then just make a deck and have fun Also if you want to play cheap i advice a deck like deskbots which is only 15 and its still a little decent
I stated getting back into yugioh because of hearing your story and it reinvigorated my passion to play. So I play swordsoul and cyber dragons for fun. But my swordsoul is what I would use for competitive play. Keep on making great content.
One of the first decks I picked up was Drytron. It was consistent, it was fun, it uses my favorite summoning method. I had no clue that it was insanely good.
You forgot the hand traps part and the fact that it doesn't matter what type of deck you make because if it isn't the meta there is no point of playing it and you should feel bad for trying something different then the meta
Just got into it myself. Buying all the nostalgia cards I liked. Looking to build DM deck since he's gotten so much support, BB as well. Completing the Monarchs deck, I was never able to as a kid. All after starting with Dark Worlds, building Machina and Infinitrack.
I just started playing. My first deck is a Kuriboh one and I'm love. It's so much fun to play. I mainly go against Blue Eyes, Dark Magician and Dragon Maid in Master duel and I actually win most of my fights. So far, only Toons turned out to be the bane of my existance, because none of my cards does anything against them.
It would be cool to start in a format like some other games do. Something like “Archetype format”, where you can only play that archetype (HERO f.e.) and cards that include that archetype (Future Vision f.e.) and nothing more tan 1 staple that it’s not banned (in this cases, 1 Reinforcement of the Army). Also, 3 polymerization because old fusions and all. What do you think? You can do a video with this ideas?
This is actually exactly how I started lol (aside from ordering a deck I was stupid and thought my half built deck would be a good idea to bring to a tournament)
