I'm an Indian and I'm glad to know that even Africans feel annoyed when West always portrays the developing countries as they want to portray. At times it's like they don't even try. How they make Indian videos is very simple, 1)Show the slum(it's either in Mumbai or Old Delhi) 2)Showcase some unhygienic street food vendor. 3)Show a few kids playing Cricket. 4)Add some shitty cliché Indian music .

They do it to emotiomally manipulate the audience. It is very obvious & terrible. On the other hand, if they don't showcase the poverty then most would not be quite so willing to hand over huge portions of government sponsored aid (from collected taxes) or charitable donations which we can never be sure doesn't go in the acccount of the corrupt before it goes to people who need it.

Im gonna be honest im a somali kid living in the uk 16 yrs old, when i was 11 i going to somalia to visit my relatives i thought the country would like those ads they show on tv, i thought they dont have toilets at all but when me and my family came there it was different,there were alot of friendly people,there were alot of traffic everyday the market was full of traditional food i and my family really enjoyed our time there.

some of us do, I did a few digs different parts of Africa, and it differs greatly. while I was there saw one of the most beautifully advanced cities I've ever seen with architecture that would blow your mind! a lot of times people who are shown on the shows that Trevor was talking about our people who have decided to stay with a tribal way of life. some of these people that they use aren't even starving they just live outdoors more, in a hut so Americans assume they don't have enough. not to say there aren't those in need but those exist everywhere. more so if people are that determined to help people in Africa they would probably be better off sending mosquito Nets! ( although there are definitely places around the world that could use them more )

The sad thing about it is, they teach children that all of Africa looks like those ads. The first time I found out that Africa doesn't look like that everywhere was when I did a project on Kenya in 6th grade and saw urban cities. I felt really bad about it too.

I am an African child and we had a teacher who punished everybody for the mistake of one student!! It wasn't an Oprah School😂. Reflecting on that as a grown up I realise he was just a sadist bully & deranged man. He even used to foam at the mouth as he beat us all 🤮. One day my teenage cousin had enough of taking unwarranted beatings, mind you he wasn't academically interested or talented as his interest lay elsewhere😁. Anyway one late evening, as the mad teacher came to hit him my cousin grabbed the whip, hit the teacher with it following that with several hard punches, knocked the teacher down, to a classroom applause as we all ran out. My cousin was expelled, we did continue to get class retention punishments but no more beatings. My cousin gleefully started a family!! To this day I thank his guts by standing up to that vicious teacher who happened to be my uncle as well 😂😂😂😂

@ohsevenone I don't know if you are aware but Africa is a full-on continent if you've done your research you would know this. Along with the fact that every continent has some form of slavery with that racism and prejudice tend to follow. As for genocide, genocide has happened all over the world not just Africa. Another thing that exists not only in Africa is the primitive tribes there are about 100 uncounted for tribes around the world in places like the Amazon rainforest for example. so what if primitive tribes exist let them live how they want. As for Trevor Noah, he's funny and knows it. If you knew anything about the art/entertainment world you would know that being original is quite impossible. In Bangladesh if our teacher breaks one stick on us our parents made sure there are at least 10 more stick reserved on the shelf so the teacher never runs out of stock. There is even refreshment service like cold water and drinks for teacher when he gets tired after a long beating, after the drink you can start again....

I went to Zambia and part of my visit was out into the villages in the bush. I can’t say that anyone was starving there, but what was shocking was how little people had. I am glad that Trevor was able to live a privileged life in South Africa. It’s still remains the fact that the poorest Americans have access to clean surroundings, basic education, too much food, constant entertainment, and so forth. The rural poor in Africa and elsewhere have none of these things. Don’t fool yourself.

I'm Canadian. In my various jobs in life, I've met thousands of Americans. The vast majority of them, and I mean upper 90% by that, are drooling morons who believe some of the most idiotic crap I've ever heard someone try to tell me is "true" about my own country, let alone other nations. The shit I've seen them do just boggles. Skis on roofracks in July, demanding 4th of July deals, wondering why Canada has different money, where are all the eskimos and igloos, where's my pet beaver, moose, Canada goose, why don't we fly American flags, Christ, it just depresses the hell out of me to know dribbling imbeciles form the voting population of a country that has armed itself with enough nukes to end all life, and a sizable chunk of them believe it's their destiny to do so.
