I have noticed people who have had been raised in poverty tend to do things like take up every opportunity if there is free food. Also I have a stash of left over bits for my Gunpla and its all good.
It's absolutely a thing! It's honestly kind of freeing to realize what's behind those little actions. I'm starting to allow myself to use the Nice stuff, and not letting the fear and perfectionism control me.
