Nebraska Lt. Gov. Joe Kelly, along with both Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Nebraska Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) officials flew on a Nebraska Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter. They conducted damage surveillance and assessment over areas impacted by tornadoes.
The National Weather Service confirmed several tornadoes on April 26 in Nebraska and Iowa. EF3 tornadoes were reported in Lincoln, Elkhorn and Blair. Hundreds of homes were either damaged or destroyed.
