Red Cross has the option to donate to this storm specifically.

Totally different terrains. Florida is flat with dirt/sand soil. That area is full of mountains and valleys with clay/rocky soil. A lot of that damage came from runoff from the mountains, which also caused trees to fall during landslides. Not even Florida homes can handle that much water.
